- IF IT STILL MAKES NOISE AT A DEAD STOP ITS NOT YOUR DIFF BEARINGS. how can they make noise if they are not moving? does the noise go away when the clutch peddal is pushed in or does the noise change sound when applying the clutch? if so then you got a throw out bearing gone bad. that is part of the clutch. if it shakes bad on take off then your flywheel is probably warped im guessing your clutch is wore out to. sounds like you need to see a technition and get it checked out. sounds like its clutch time

- If it really has play, yes, it's serious. A bearing has to be in pretty bad shape to feel enough play If you trust him, then replace them A.S.A.P. If you don't, get a second opinion--soon.

- Just one bearing on each axle. Make sure to buy new axle seals, gear lube and a differential cover gasket. Sometimes the bearings are pressed onto the axle shaft. I'm not sure on the Explorer.
- Q: ok I took apart my bearings, cleaned the shields with water, put about 2 drops of lube in each after letting the bearings sit in a 50% alcohol solution for 10 minutes, put it all back together after drying off the stuff and lubing it. Just rode it today and it seems that the bearngs are making noise.... is this normal???
- Don't just let them sit in the solution, you have to shake them around to get the crud out. You can get a Bones Bearing Cleaning Kit, or make your own (Google is your friend here). If I haven't cleaned my bearings in a while, I usually rinse heavily with water to get thick dirt off, then put them in a 90% alcohol solution (50% is a bit low, that's half water) in that Bones cleaning it, shake for ~10 minutes, and then do it again, then wait until they dry (put them on a heat vent or something), then two drops in each bearing and I spin them to make sure they're quiet before re-assembling the shields and whatnot. If they're still noisy, I put another drop of lube in.
- Q: where can i buy furnace inducer motor bearings?
- You can swap out the entire motor in ten minutes. Why would you want to replace the bearings? Just change the motor. Google is probably your best option. Most local part suppliers will not sell to the public, at least here anyway.
- Q: I'm looking into starting skateboarding, so I was looking at some other questions for beginner skateboarders. - Trucks are the metal axles and plates that mount to the board. They come in different sizes depending on what type of riding you plan on doing- the longer the axle the less turning radius you'll have. Bearing are small discs that contain tiny metal ball (bearings) that allow you wheels to spin freely once they are mounted on the truck-there are 2 bearing rings for each wheel (inside outside) . These also come in all types and generally the more expensive the bearings the more spin/speed you'll get. Hardware merely refers to the bolts nuts that hold the trucks to the board. These also come in all sorts of lengths and brands, but really they are mostly all the same. and don't forget some of the most important gear for a noob will be protective gear, helmet pads etc. Have Fun !
- Q: Revo S and Revo SX. Are they double shielded or single shielded? Or non shielded. I hate doing maintenance on reels that have double shielded bearings.
- they both DO have the HPCR bearings. perhaps l missed something... don't the bearings remove from the reel in the same way? they change nothing as far as the rest of the parts, no? if they're sealed, that should make service even easier. although, you perhaps do make a point... if you can't readily lube the bearings and they SHOULD happen to fail for some reason, the replacement cost may be a bit much. should that ever happen, replace them anyway with the high performance ceramic ones. G: son, l ama disappoint.
- Q: Why do so many large railroads (ie,class I) flat out refuse to let rolling stock that has friction bearings, from operating or (at the very least) being moved across their system(s), even if the equipment is maintained in a better condition than roller bearing items of the same type/vintage?I appreciate all insight, -- Thanks in advance!
- Friction = heat Heat = fire possibility Fire possibility - liability of railroad Another item to consider -- roller bearings have been used for so long, I don't think there's anyone left of any railroad that knows how to repair friction bearings.
