- Q: when should i buy new bearings? i've had modus titanium for a year now should i buy some new bearings?
- If you see they stop after 2sec then your bearings needs to be changed as soon as possible but if they are slower you should clean them up with gasoline or lubricant I think that good skate board bearings will last maybe 8 or 9 month if you take care of them properly means cleaning them at least every two weeks.
- Q: should i put a little grease inside the wheel so the bearings slide in easier? they really dont want to go in strait. should i lay the bearing in the hole and put the nut on and tighten the bearing into the wheel? Help....
- Do not put grease, grease will wreak your bearings. The best thing to do is buy a skate tool that can help you insert them. If you dont want to do that simply put the bearing on the wheel (where it needs to go) and put the wheel on the truck with the bearing still on the wheel facing the truck. Then just simply push down on the wheel and the bearing will pop into place.

- There should be a number stamped on the somewhere. Look under Wheel Bearings in your Yellow Pages and take them to a specialist. Or do it online. You may even be able to find an online wheel bearing shop if you google it and do a bit of research. I've found that most good-sized cities will have a bearing specialist or engineering shop who can help out.

- that does not sound like a bearing cause if it was a bearing you would here noise any time you move...if its make a noise when you turn its the u-joints that's an expensive job for sure.i had that same problem with my car and they had to replace the u-joints and the boot covers that go over them...$400 bucks....be warned that i did not take me car in to shop till it was too late and my front wheel fell off..lucky i was just in town driving slow cause it it would have been on the freeway,wow!!!!! look under the car behind the front wheels there like a black boot cover (like the one the bottom on a shifter in a Manuel shift car) you can see if there torn,if they are its the u-joints for sure...(check both sides)
- Q: I have this set of bearings i got recently with my skateboard deck i purchased on ebay, the board and bearings are brand new from 1988, the bearings was in there original package. When i took the bearings out they dont spin very much at all. They only read 608 zz on both sides and they come with silver spacers. Are these good bearings and if so, how could i beable to get these to work more better.
- More okorder and order some good bearings is my suggestion. If you want some high class bearings get Bones Swiss or Black Panthers, but any bearings on this site should be pretty good bearings. Price range from about $10-45.
- Q: what can i use 2 clean longboard/skateboard bearings besides acetone?
- get rubbing alcohol with the highest concetration of alcohol possible- 91% put it in a bowl and submerge the bearings in it and spin them to get all the dirt out once clean, take them out and let dry quickly note that you will need some sort of lube, you do not want to do this without lube or it will kill your bearings. anyways after they dry put the lube on directly or over the plastic shields and then you should be all set.
