- Tools: X-acto knife or any thin sharp thing to get uder the rubber lid, Bottle with a 1 inch or bigger hole Paint thinner, towel, BONES BEARING OIL DO NOT USE WD-40!, and skate tool. First take off your wheels, then pop off your bearing, put the end of the X-acto knife under then up off the rubber shield, Fill your bottle with 1 cup of Paint thinner, SHAKE for about a minute, dispose solvent safely while holding cap un-screwed on the hole just letting the liquid out, put bearings on towel, wipe them to get any excessive paint thinner off, 2-3 drops off lube, put rubber shields back on then give the bearings a spin, Put them back in order on your trucks. REMEMBER do no use any Water and clean any dirt, dust, etc off your bearing before putting them in your bottle! Hope this helps!

- the clunking noise would be the cv joints wore out (axle shaft ) the grinding noise could be the front wheel bearings they are called front hub bearings and usually when they go bad you will hear a roar coming from either side depending on which one is bad.

- There are several things you could be referring to and a cite would have clarified the issue. There are several types of bearings that are used for any type of rotating shaft. These can include sleeve bearings, ball bearings, roller bearings and some very high tech magnetic bearings. The magnetic bearings will usually be electromagnetics and are used for some high speed flywheels contained within a vacuum. There are also bearings marketed specifically for electric motors as electric motor bearings. They are not electric bearings but likely sleeve, roller or ball bearings made for electric motors. If English were a second language it may be more clear to see this as electric-motor bearings and not electric motor-bearings. Amazon returns items under the search term electric bearings and this might include bearings made by the General Electric corporation or bearings of various types made for electric motors.

- Q:My front driver's side wheel bearings need replaced. The current wheel bearings are open (visible when the hub is removed). When I look for replacement parts, OES and otherwise, the bearings offered are enclosed/canister style. This looks like it won't mate up properly with the existing hub. The auto parts store suggested removing the ring from the hub to make the new bearings fit. I'm concerned that doing so will irreparably damage the hub. To complicate things even more, it looks like the only style of hub available- OES included- are the type that work with the open bearings. Suggestions? Anyone ever had to modify a wheel hub? Advice is appreciated.

- This problem needs some thought since when you use directions North and bearing 0 degrees is at the top of the page But, in math, if you use degrees, 0 is usually to the right. To translate, so your calculator will give the correct answer, subtract the bearings from 90 degrees. So 90 degrees minus 53 degrees equals 37 degrees. The distance to the east is equal to cosine of 37 degrees times 15km = 12 km Sine of 37 degrees times 15km equals 9km So the first leg he ended up 12 km east and 9 km north of original position. Then to translate the 112 degrees, subtract it from 90 to get -22 degrees Cosine of -22 times 7km equals 6.5 km and Sin -22 times 7km equals -2.6km. - 30,000 miles? should have been taken care of under warranty? tires really shouldn't cause premature bearing failure, unless they are way out of balance causing shaking. The bearings might not have been worn enough to be noticed when the new tires were put on. Perhaps your new tires run quieter so you hear more noises that were hushed by the noisy cheap tires you had previously?
