- better get a chilton repair manual. most axles have some sort of retainer in the differential. auto zone can be a great help if you get the parts there.

- Bones Swiss All the way. Thats what i roll with. Ive never had a problem with them. Check it out, Bones has like 4 different bearings. They have REDS, which go for like 15 bucks at your local skateshop. Bones Swiss cost around 40 bucks. Bones Swiss Labyrinths, basically the exact same bearing, cost about the same. I think there some thatre called Bones Super Six, something like that its 6 ball bearings instead of 8. But, i wouldnt spend more for those. Then theres Bones Swiss Ceramics, that go for like, 90 dollars which is way too much in my opinion for bearings. But there what Bones say are the best bearings you can buy. Long Story short: Get Bones Swiss. There the best. If you dont wanna spend 40 dollars, but you have 15, get Bones REDS. They might break depending how you skate them, might not go as fast as Bones swiss, but they wont dissapoint you.

- Bad wheel bearings would make noise going over 35 mph even while driving straight down the road. Jack up the front of the vehicle and see if there is play in the bearings by shaking the tire in and out. Not knowing if it's a big job or not means you shouldn't be playing mechanic.

- I use Bones Swiss bearings and they have been very responsive and have made a big difference. If you want to know how fast a bearing is most have abec ratings, nine being the highest. However, as Bones Swiss are of better quality and faster than most bearings, they have omitted the abec rating. I highly reccommend the Bones Swiss bearings and if you want to get better than those, you get the ceramics. They are much more expensive though.

- If it's just grinding once in a while on turns and going straight down the road the bearings are quiet, you should be OK. Just don't keep driving it like that because the bad bearings can ruin the spindle or they can really let go and scare the shitt out of you. Not the safest thing to do so drive with caution and I would not be going over 50 mph.
- Q: I have a 1996 saturn sc1 and the rod bearings are gone in the motor. I'm i better off taking the chance and replacing them or buying another motor, because i was told that if the rod bearing are gone, 9 chances out of 10 the cylinder walls are gone as well. Is this a true fact?
