WD-40 is still not good for skateboard bearings, and won't be in the future. Use a solvent like denatured alcohol to clean and a skateboard bearing lube like Tri-Flow or Speed Cream. Be sure to remove the shields before cleaning.

Q: I have a shaft that is in a vertical position. I need to support the axial (vertical) and the radial (side) force. I can understand how to support the side force with the ball bearings. I would just slip the bearings through the shaft and then create some kind of housing and bolt it to a structure close to it. But the radial force? The ball bearings I have do not have any type of set screw, so their is nothing to lock it into place.
You might want to think about using a conical bearing race. It can support both rotational and thrust forces. Without knowing the specifics of the application,It's not possible to recommend a specific one. Ask again with specifics- shaft dia. rpm's- torque, etc. and I'll try to help you ! Good Luck !!

My favorite is Tri-Flow. Originally used for bike bearings, but works for skateboard bearings as well. Try a bike shop, skate shop or some hardware stores.

Mr. Clean is water based, it will cause the bearings to rust. Use a solvent based cleaner. I use denatured alcohol. Once the bearings are clean, use a skateboard bearing lubricant.

Q: i need to change the bearing on my hyundai accent front passinger side, i got it all apart and see i need a press. would it be easier to replace the whole hub i so how do i go about doing it ? any link to diagrame etc.. would be appreciated
It would be easier to take it to a machine shop and have them press out the old bearing and press in the new or to purchase or rent a hub shark so you can do it yourself (provided you have a compressor and impact).
