- Q:i was just wondering because i love the smell and beauty of the hemp plant and i would like to grow it in my garden, is this legal ? i live in Canada Ontario
- Wow! I had no idea I even had a garden in Canada! Sure, okay! just be sure to sharecrop with me and we'll be good to go.
- Q:I've just moved to a house with a nice back yard, with all kinds of plants and trees in it, but I have no idea how to figure out which plants or trees they are. I'd like to know how to take care of them in the best way, but I'd need to know what they are first.
- Often the people who work in your local nursery or garden center are happy to ID samples of your plants. Bring in a branch from each plant (more than a single leaf is best), and they can tell you what they all are.
- Q:I'm looking to make an easy to maintain container garden using a large Roman-esque pot. I'm looking for some design ideas that include height in the center with a mound and edging flora. Plant choices that include color and/or fragrance would be excellent as well. This container will sit in a semi-shaded area on the front porch in Southern California.
- Wow, because you live in So Cal, you have LOTS of choices. A shady location may limit the fragrance plants that will grow well. However, since I can't see exactly what your POT looks like, it is hard to say! Here is what I would suggest: Take your pot to your local plant nursery and have them help you pick out some plants. You can always go to another nursery if you don't like the choices!! Good Luck!!
- Q:Please give me some useful reviews about a home made tile cleaner or its advantage from a commercial one. Because i really need it for our science investigatory project, and on giving reviews please include the source of your review and the year or its profession. Please give me an accurate one , 'coz this is a serious matter.....thank you!
- Soap, hot water and elbow grease usually work best for me.
- Q:Hey folks, recently I've had a very strong urge to start a small home garden filled with herbs beneficial to my health when smoked out of a vaporizer. I was wondering which herbs are easy to grow and which would be helpful for stress, or with relaxing or sedative properties
- Sceletium Turtuosom, Cannabis Sativa and Salvia Divinorum
- Q:Where can I find this comforter set?
- I okorder /
- Q:My husband bought me the 14th limited edition Better Homes and Gardens book... and I've had alot of recipes not taste great. I have to alter them alot and then they're okay (FYI- I cook great, it's not me, its the recipes). Also I've found alot of errors with the index and page numbers. I was just wondering if Betty Crocker makes a better cookbook and if there's a better variety. I know the BHG is huge, but it really doesn't seem like there's a lot of desserts or cookies, and I LOVE cooking.Let me know what you think, and if you can recommend a specific book that would be great too!
- Betty Crocker, it's so comprehensive. Everything from defining herbs and spices to kitchen utensils, cooking/cutting methods, safe temps for all foods, recipes...what a masterpiece.
- Q:I am designing an indoor garden. It will be located in a glass sunroom/conservatory. Unfortunately, most of the books about indoor gardening are about growing plants in pots. I want to create an ACTUAL indoor garden -- lavender, jasmine, ferns, irises -- planted in soil beds. What I want to know is:1. Whether there are any books or websites on the subject.2. Whether the plants I've mentioned would grow in good indoor conditions, and any other plant suggestions (preferably plants with flowers!)
- You do not say where you live,so you may need to do some of this research virtually: The Brooklyn Botanic Garden has had gardens under glass for decades (100yrs?) Also look at Longwood Gardens= also extensive indoor gardens for eons. Doris Duke's home -ditto check the butterfly house at the Baltimore Acquarium Also, there is a long tradition of indoor gardens in England- they grew everything and there are lots of books on these. As far as the plants you name, jasmine, ferns- absolutely no problem- they are in every glass house I've ever been The essentials for most lavenders is poor soil, relatively dry, lots of light. I have grown all of these indoors, just home garden- windowsill or plant lights The iris I grow are the tall bearded - delicious fragrance-like candy- I would think with enough light and dark, they should grow well. With flowers: name it: roses if you have the room or are willing to work at the pruning (we have grown roses in a bed i brick high on concrete!! The rose has thrived for 50 years! Lilies, marigolds, zinnias, cosmos, bulbs: hyacinth, daffodil, crocus etc IF you have a cold frame to give these a winter conditioning; salvias-the flowering decent kind, The list is virtually endless, depending on the climate conditions you are going to create: temperature, humidity, direction the space faces, number of hours of daily sun. One crucial factor is air circulation; a ceiling fan may be enough, depending on how much natural ventilation there is in the space. Also, consider using plant lights to help meet your light conditions if there is a plant you really want to grow that needs more that the available light. Catalog your conditions, and then compare these to the needs of plants you like Sites: the victory garden is reliable as will be your state cooperative extension assoc. {the spots you can't see on this response is me drooling over the opportunity you have. Hope you have a grand adventure.}
- Q:What is the best way to get rid of moles in the yard/garden? I live in central Ky.?
- Here's an earth-friendly idea from Mother Earth Magazine. Sink wine bottles into their tunnels...open end up. Fill the bottles to different levels with water. The wind blowing across the open ends causes harmonic sounds that scare away the moles.
- Q:I made this back in the early 80s, and it was the best cheesecake I've ever had. It's made with 8 packages of cream cheese, a dozen eggs, and uses a pastry crust.
