Q: about two months ago we started to plant our flowers in our garden.then one week later we notice we had alot of dead flowers.then that same day we had some guest over and they all said it was squirrels.so if you have a way of keeping sqirrels out of your garden please tell me!!!!
Fast way, sprinkle Cayenne pepper all around the perimeter. This will also help prevent wandering cats from using your freshly turned soil as a litterbox. Then go to salons in your area and ask for hair clippings (it's always washed before it's cut). Sprinkle the hair clippings all around the perimeter of the garden as well. This deters all kinds of critters. Are you sure it's not rabbits eating your plants? I have never had squirrels eat my flowers. If your flowers are just dying and not disappearing, you may have moles eating the roots. Look for mole holes elsewhere in your yard. Moles are attracted to freshly dug or turned soil as it is easy for them to navigate. One way to get rid of moles is to take sticks of Juicy Fruit gum, split it in half lengthwise and push the sticks of gum down into mole holes. They eat it and go away to die. It has to be Juicy Fruit though, something about the smell being like flowers. It is way less costly and gross than traps. Don't believe the underground vibration things, they don't work.
Q: I am going to start a business doing Wild Tree Home Parties and Selling Wild Tree Products. They are a natural Herb, Spice and Mixes Company that have really great tasting, afforadable, healthy solutions that make your life easier. I know that there are tons of Home Party companies out there...I have been to Arbonne, Tupperware, Home Garden, Partylite, Lia Sophia, Passion...etc. I hate going but usually when I get there I have fun. At Wild Tree Parties (called Tasting Parties) all that is done is tasting different products, no presentation, no games, nothing silly, just straighforward...So what is your take on this type of Home Party...would you love it or hate?
I have never heard of Wild Tree. However, I love attending Home Parties!! I am a member of a Moms group. We LIVE for convenience and home party companies offer us just that. Your business (foods, spices...) are a great way for us to test the products before we buy. So, I would definitely attend one. You might also consider working with Apartments and Property Managers to DONATE your products for their clients to try. You will be able to have your advertising displayed so that if they wanted to make a purchase they would call you. Additionally, when you have parties, be sure to have something EXTRA fun which allows your guests to WIN prizes. A Wild Tree Auction would be fun. If you like, I'll be happy to explain how it is done! There are so many ways to make money with your business!!!! I do it with my Tupperware business and it makes the guests feel good AND helps me with my presentation! Home Parties are a great way to make easy money as a consultant, earn FREE products as a host and buy awesome products at a discount.
Q: As a watering girl for the plants, and they told me I had to learn basic gardening such as what kind of grass grows in my area/region, and about the type of grass and plants, does anyone know a good website to learn about gardening that I can use now and in the future? I want to try and work my way up after being there awhile.

Q: I live in the NE USA. I have an apartment porch with another porch on top of it, so I get sun in the afternoon, into early evening. I have to have a garden on the porch because any indoor plants will get eaten by the cats. I'd like to be able to plant some seeds in planters (either the long ones or in pots) and keep them on the porch to bloom and grow. I'm not sure what kind of plants would grow well in my area and under those conditions. Anything that can be planted, kept outdoors in the winter and grow back in the spring/summer would be awesome as well (perennials).I'm looking for as much help as possible. What kind of plants would work well, when I'd need to plant them, which kind of planter, how often to water and if I can leave them outside in the fall/winter and have them grow back on me.Thank you so much!
If you want to grow veggies and fruits on your porch, tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries all will work in a container. Also, pretty much any herbs should do well.
Q: I just recently moved into a remodeled home and am renting the house. I was told by my brother-in-law that the LANDLORD should be taking care of/responsible for the gardening issues (backyard/front yard maintenance hiring some professional people). If they fail to do so, then the landlord should take off some $$ off the rent. Is this true? In my lease agreement, she attached a piece of paper to the lease that states that I am responsible to upkeep the yards. Is this true or should I contact her and let her know that the garden isn't my responsibility? Thanks!
Challenge her to a dual or better yet,arm wrestling.
Q: I stopped to listen to a garden speaker at our County Fair last week. I was late didn't hear all he had to say, but he brought up the gardener's quot;Biblequot; several times. I over heard someone at the nursery say something about it too, more then once, but never paid attention before. All I know is it is suspost to be the best book on gardening. A must have for every serious gardener. I've checked at several book stores without luck. My neighbor told me that is not the right name, only the name everyone refers to it. But she didn't know the real name either. Does any one know the real name? I have got to have one. Thank You!
THE MASTER GARDENER BIBLE was at one time SUNSET WESTERN GARDEN BOOK. We carried one with us at all times. But times change the MASTER GARDENERS have written a NEW TESTAMENT of their own. I wouldn't say it is a replacement to the Sunset book any more them The New Testament of the Bible replaces the Old Testament. But THE MASTER GARDENER HAND BOOK was writen by MASTER GARDENERS for MASTER GARDENERS with input from all the top plant experts from the Univ system, State County Ag experts. It's more of a hands on, how to book. Where Sunset highlights plants to I.D., the MASTER GARDENER HAND BOOK assumes you have made your plant choices takes it from there. Pound for pound, I'd say the Master Gardeners book weights more. Covers in detail the stuff Sunset just touched on. I think they belong together just like the Old New Testament of the Bible. You just can't have one without the other. The Master Gardener book covers it all in detail, soil conditions, IPM in detail etc. Anything that could mess up a gardeners' day in the garden, the Master Gardeners' book has it covered. Problem being you won't find it in your local book store. It's a univ publication in univ books stores or by order from your local coop extension or Master Gardener sight. If both were put infront of a gardener could only have one, it would be a tuffy. But for more hands on what to do and why, i'd have to choose the book writen by the Master Gardeners.
Q: Sweet Home Oregon, 97386
Not sure where Sweet Home is but I included a link for all of Oregon (never saw so many in one State) and Washington. oregonstate.edu/dept/ldplants/sun...
Q: I keep finding cat poo in my garden and I don't like it.
I've heard that human hair will do it ..... I haven't tried it tho. I've also been told to place plastic (picnic) forks tine-side-up just under the soil so that when stepped on it hurts the pads in their feet. It worked for me in a vegetable garden years' ago. good luck. Oh....I also heard that taking two small pieces of dog poo and placing them at the place the cats enter the area will work good. They don't like peppermint oil either!!
Q: Why is my home not growing a garden or does the garden have to be made by me. Because nature is suppose to do this stuff for me, since i dont have a woman
Yes you have to make your own garden or hire someone, if you do not already have one
Q: Is it slob-ish to hang out barefoot in your own home / garden?
