- Rent a rug cleaner from your local hardware store, first pretreating the worst spots with a spot remover. And see what this does. Cause in any case you don't want to be breathing the stuff left in the carpet. If you own the place, I'd recommend pulling it up (in a corner or doorway), and seeing what is underneath. Or make a canvas painted rug to go over the area, buy a large canvas (dropcloth or the like) give it a basecoat, then your design and then a few coats of poly. Would be easier to clean up, and not as expensive if you decide to toss it.

- For just a plain rug with no design like you want, the best thing is to go to your local mom and pop type carpet store. Pick out a carpet that meets your color needs. It ll come 12 ' wide so order a pc 12x8 and you can ( or they can) easily cut it to the size you want . They will bind the edges or have the carpet sent out to be done ( very common). - Q: i am trying to find out how much it will cost about to put carpet in an average size room approx13 by 17. i just want middle of the roead carpet, but does anyone have a guess?

- A true pad won t really work since it ll bunch up,make it to thick and cause a tripping hazard.. What you should use is a special mat made just for rugs over hardwood. This type allows the rug to stay it place w/o slipping and bunch up, allows the wood to properly breathe and not stain the wood . These are bought any where wood and flooring are sold, just get the kind made for rugs over wood. Since you know your rug size you can get the closest size to your rug. - Q: could i turn my highland out in winter with a summer turnout/sheet with a rambo fleece underneath ( best fleece on the market ) because hes a highland i dont want him caked in thick heavy turnouts. i just think a summer turnout would be enough to keep the snow off his fleece which is really what i want. i will only use this method on snowy/frosty days.
- Yeah maybe. But the thin rug may rip easily if he rolls on frosty ground and catches himself, or the snow may melt in the middle of the night and the water will seep through the rug and soak the fleece. You would be better off buying a proper turnout rug. Just use a old summer sheet and see if it works, if not, buy a turnout rug. Good luck! x x :)
