- If you mean wall to wall carpeting, you just have to check at carpet stores until you find the colour you want. They might or might not have every colour in stock but you can look at their samples. If you mean an area rug, it will be really hard to find. I looked for a teal-tone area rug for a couple of years until I found one at Ikea. You can have carpet off a roll cut to size and bound on the edges, too, for an area rug.
- Q: I recently bought an ikea rug, which isn't exactly an area rug, but is big enough not to put in a washer. I vacuum it regularly, but it is a white rug with big colourful blobs, and the dirt off of my feet can be seen in certain spots.. I was wondering if anyone knew how to clean it.. I was just going to buy a carpet cleaner and scrub it, but there are multiple spots with dirt. Also, I'm not sure if the colours are going to bleed if I try to do that.. - Try Woolite carpet and upholstery cleaner. I use it on my area rug. Makes it smell fresh also.

- I have a suggestion. It has happened with my carpet in the past. All you need to do is, take piece of rag (preferably cotton), immerse it in boiling hot water and dab it on the patch where it is. This should soften both the carpet and the dough. Once this is done, say, in a couple mins or so, take a terrycot towel and brush it in one stroke. This will take off the stuff from the carpet. If this does not work, take a moist cloth (drenched in regular water). Take a semi-hot pressing iron, and slowly and lightly iron the surface of the cloth. This will make the dough stick to the cloth. It is pretty simple and non-time-consuming. Good luck :)
- Q: No, I dont mean dancing! I have hardwood floors in my bedroom. I want to buy carpet, but the room is an odd shape. Is it easy to cut myself, and would I only need special scissors? Or should I pay to have someone do it for me?
- you can cut it yourself but it's not the best idea as it can get messy, you'll end up with the rug coming to bits. go to a local carpet shop and ask them for the tape (not sure what its called) that will prevent this from happening. good luck
- Q: I have a 5x7' area rug on my carpeted floor that moves an inch every time I walk across it. I want it to stay still, but I must be cautious cuz the whole point of the rug is to protect the carpet which I can't afford to replace. I've tried putting heaven stuff on top of the rug (ie. hamper, edge of dresser), but if I do, it still moves and bunches up on one side.
- Tacking it down will pucker the rug and make a tripping hazard or you ll step on the nail heads and hurt your foot. They make a special , very thin mat especially for this . Sold almost any where carpet or rugs are sold. Put under the rug , and since they are tacky and leave no residue the rug stays in place and won t walk on you. Get the type for rugs over carpet since they make a couple of kinds. These will loose the tackiness after a few months since they ll attract dirt but you toss them in the washer or rinse out and they come right back to life.
