- Q: i left my flat iron on the carpet and the carpet has two small red lines from the plates. how can i i rid of the i put oxiclean on i dont think its working though.
- It's not a stain so the oxy clean may not work at all. My proven technique that allowed me to keep all my security deposit on my apartment... Cut as much of the burn away as you can. Go right down to the mesh that holds the strands of carpet in place if you have to. Now take a razor (the type you shave with) And shave some rug particles from another area of the carpet. Shave enough to fill the size of the hole you'll have after removing all the burned sections. Now take some carpet glue or super glue and brush a little in the hole. Fill the hole with the shavings. You wont be able to make the mark completely disappear but The color match will be perfect. If you work with some cuttings rather than shavings you may be able to get it to look real close to the original texture of the carpet. The entire process should take no more than 5-15 minutes. Do a little area at first until you feel comfortable with the process.

- Q: My cat got sick a year ago and repeatedly urinated in a corner of a room. The cat is now gone, but I still can smell it sometimes, especially when it's humid. I've shampooed the area probably 15 times and used various enzyme shampoos, treatments. I don't have the money to replace the carpet. I am assuming that the urine is on the pad and flooring. How do I go about cleaning the flooring underneath and replacing the pad, etc. Should I clean the underside of the carpet or just lay in a spare piece?
- Your so right the pee is in the pad and wood under the rug and if you can put some white vinegar and arm +hammer baking soda in a mix it will help and get the first and second layer done then do the same on the pad and carpet' sopping wet and let i stay 3 hours then get some news paper and dry it out and get the rotten carpet and padding out if it still smells real bad. Never just cover and forget it as it only will come out 10 times more stronger.

- The question is: how big of an area? If it is kinda small 3 x 3. You are going to have to do some surgery! First way: Find a spot of carpet that is good and hidden. Like in the corner of your closet. Take a really sharp knife ( utility knife works good here) and carefully cut out the burnt part. Then cut out the exact size piece in the hidden place. Swap the pieces out. Be careful to not cut into the padding under the carpet. Do not grab a good piece that is close to a seam (you'll just create more problems). You can glue the new carpet down with wood glue, just not too much. I hope that your carpet is thick, or this will not work. Also, you don't want the new piece getting sucked up in the vacuum cleaner. I really think you should just tell your mum though. You might get into a bit of trouble, but If she finds out that you did unqualified surgery on her carpet you are going to really be in a world of hurt!
- Q: Whats the best cleaner/chemical to get blood stains out of a rug? I was working on something in the trunk of my BMW 325i and i cut my finger. But the pool of blood wont come out of the carpet no matter what i try. Someone told me to try using milk but that didnt work either. I have to bring my car to get inspected and i need to get the stain out beforehand...Any suggestions?
- If you live near a Dollar Tree store they sell a cleaner called Awesome. i use this for everything. it got dark chocolate stains out of my white rug and blood stains off a shirt. if you cannot find that cleaner use Peroxide. this is used to clean wounds but it also get out blood. When my brother was cut badly his bedspread has a giant pool of blood. my mother poured peroxide on it and it fizzed and then it washed out. Good luck! I hope your not trying to hide a dead body...just kidding.

- Depending on how often you shampoo your carpet, you will definately get your monies worth in just a couple months or so. My daughter and I have asthma and I have 3 kids...that's enough said, so I clean my carpets about every 6 weeks due to the asthma whether they need it or not. I bought a bissel from wal-mart for about $80 so I had gotten my moneys worth in just two cleanings. I've now had that same bissell about 5 years so it is very worth it just purchase one. I love mine and my sister n law and friends had borrowed it a few times and decided to just buy one for themselves and have never been sorry!!

- I have a sheepskin rug that I have washed, never thought about using Woolite however I am sure that works great :). Since it is a hair like fur I actually have used a little shampoo in the washer with it. It worked just fine, I was a bit nervous to put the rug in the dryer so i just let if hang for a while to air dry and also use a brush to bring the life back into the fur.

- My guess would be that you DO have a small leak somewhere under that rug. The rug is acting like a sponge and soaking up all of the water, some of which is evaporating. The leak is likely very small, but you should be able to pinpoint it once you take the rug up. If it were a large leak, or a constant one, the water would eventually go beyond the rug once it was saturated. Since this hasn't happened, I believe it may be a very small groundwater leak. Al

- Haha- I also have a similar project! I merely keep them in an previous cubby hollow specially situations or purchase some new clothing when I even have the time. yet whilst they are truly bothering you basically putting there empty, take stuff out of your cloth wardrobe drawers and carry those up too. via the way, I basically have seventeen empty hangers now- I have been given rid of the grotesque ones and colour code via clothing varieties (long sleeve, short sleeve, etc) Hooray for OCD!!! XD
- Q: I have this OLD area rug from my grandmother. The pattern is beautiful and the rug itself is is good condition, however I'd like to brighten it up! -Especially the white areas which have now gone yellow. Anyone have any ideas on how to clean/treat this rug and restore/brighten it without damaging it with harsh chemicals, like bleach?
- You may need to have the rug treated by a pro cleaner. If you do look for a baneclean dealer who does rugs. If you want to try use a store rented steam cleaner use Woolite in place of the store steam chemicals. mix the Woolite per directions. Mix with warm water use a very soft brush and work the Woolite into the rug. Use the steam cleaner to rinse with plain warm water. One pass with the plain water , 3 passes with suction only to remove the water. Let dry for a day or more before use. There are chemical brighteners, try to avoid.
