- Q: i want to re carpet my bedrooms, where could i find carpet besides a carpet shop?
- Cassy, if you want new carpet then you will have to go to a carpet store. Some of the larger companies have end of line run out sales for carpets that they are replacing with a new pattern or colour so it's always worth asking, you might get last years carpet at a bargain. You could also look at some auction houses for carpet bargains. If you are okay with second hand carpet then have a look at some of the trader newspapers, we have trading post here in Melbourne and they are online too, Australia wide I think on the net. Some people will sell their old carpet when replacing it so check around. Also, you could contact some carpet installers because they are always ripping out old carpet when laying down new stuff. Ask them what they do with the carpet they are getting rid of. They might onsell it somewhere if it's in good shape. You can always jump on line and google 'second hand carpet'. I got a few hits when I did this so you might find something in your area.
- Q: How to best remove the greasy dirt on the carpet?
- Firstly, try to use cleaning agent firstly, use a brush to brush. If it not works, you only can use thinner to clean it. There are two things on the carpet can not be cleaned down: the coke and tea stain. It's easy to clean if it is greasy dirt.
- Q: i have this cheetah print bed cover and i want to turn it onto a floor rug is there any way i can do this if so pleasee help :) k thanks lt;3
- Latch hook process. Check at a hobby supply or Joann Fabrics.
- Q: How to remove a very long silica gel stained on the carpet?
- Ask for the carpet paviour, dig it and then fill up,
- Q: I can't seem to find a decorative rug within my budget? What makes them so expensive?
- HI, Expensive is a relative term. You need to get more objective here. Being a rug manufacturer in Agra , India ; I feel that my customers (who import the rugs) charge a King;s ransom when they sell a rug made by me to the retailer, but what the retailer charges from the consumer is even more than a Kings ransom. But still, a 100 year old rug going for USD 30,000 will appear cheap to me while a newly made rug of the same size and design going for USD 3000 will appear expensive to me. Yours question asks why are rugs so expensive, the reason behind it is the time, patience , skill and labour that goes behind making each and every one of these timeless beauties. An oriental rug of size 8' x 10' takes upto 4-5 months and 5 weavers to make. Thats a lot of time. A 8x10 rug may have anything between 640K Knots to 1.7 million knots in it depending on its quality. Each knot is tied by hand. IF you take out the price per knot it will be much less than a cent. Each knot takes an average of 7 seconds to tie. Now think, is the price you pay too much when compared to the labour behind the rugs? If you ever happen to come to Agra, call upon me and I will take you to the looms where the rugs are woven. Then you will truly come to appreciate the value of these rugs. Also, in case you want a rug , but the price seems to much, try buying directly from a rug making country like India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey. This way you will be able to cut out the importers retailers margin. You can also order a custom rug based on your size/color/design at no extra cost.
- Q: I have a rug that I need to wash but it says I need to front load wash it but I have a top load. If I top load wash it will it mess it up or will it be okay?
- I washed a couple of rugs not long ago I made a solution of laundry detergent and poured it all over the rug I hosed it down with a pressure sprayer I repeated it a couple of times, if you do not have access to an outdoor hose do it in the bathtub
- Q: hi we bought a new black wool rug last week and since then my life has been taken over by little black hairs! they are all over the laminate floor, the furniture and our clothes. i have tried sweeping the rug but although i get quite a lot of hairs out of it, they just keep coming! my friend got a wool rug a year ago and although it has settled a bit she still has a similar problem. is there anything i can do to speed up the excess fluff loss or am i going to spend the rest of my time with a dustpan and brush in my hands?
- New okorder / Hope it helps.=)
- Q: My carpet is really dirty and there is some dried paint, too.
- i recomend Hydromist 20 Heavy Duty Carpet Extraction Cleaning Machine which has 20 litre portable extraction cleaning machine,3m Hose and Stainless steel carpet wand
- Q: i've asked this question 3 times before, but it hasn't worked :(Red is booked in for a trace/blanket clip in a couple of days, and i was wondering if i would need to rug her up a little bit more? she is a thoroughbred chestnut (someone told me that chestnuts have thinner skin??) and is in a 100g fill w/ a neck rug atm....the coldest it has been lately would be about 10/11 degrees c....the next rug we have is a 250g fill with neck rug, so it's quite a step up...Um... yeah... would i need to start putting that on, or do you think she will be O.K??
- You will need to provide more warmth, yes. Clipping strips them of their body hair and this is their only natural way to keep warm. So you'll need to provide better covers than you currently are, i suggest moving to the 250g fill and possibly even adding an under rug to that.
- Q: So I'm gonna be renting out a place but there is ugly orange stained carpet. What can I do to make it look better? The owner won't let me change the carpet either. :(
- Large area rugs in each room, covering as much of the floor as possible. Why'd you rent this place? Will he let you change it if you pay for the carpet and it's professional installation?
