Deleted Answer: i like blond carpet. blond carpet is easy to step on, step over and leaves a really cool stain when bodily fluid is spilled on it. blond carpet is easily replaced when dirty and past its useful life. blond carpet frames the room in such that it does an amazing job at highlighting pictures, especially those subject that are pink and a little puckered. blond carpet is crazy and i mean crazy. blond carpet is irrational (note this is when you need to replace the blond carpet with fresh blond carpet). red carpet is awesome, more rare and definitely hot (tempered)!!! - you might just try soap and water...even a little liquid detergent...not too much...it soaps up pretty quickly...i use an old wash cloth with a little water and then add the soap to it....keep rubbing..then add more water if its too soapy...hopefully it will come out....if it comes out to your liking then keep blotting the area with paper towels to absorb the moisture.......good luck what ever method you find...........

- help is at hand, If you have a spare piece of carpet then great , if not you can cut a piece from somewhere it will not show ( under heavy furniture or from inside a closet) Cut out the scorched piece of carpet using a sharp safety knife, Dab the the bottom of the hole and the tufts with a suitable latex adhesive. Insert the tufts into the hole and leave to dry, then brush to blend with the pile. Save you a lot of money this way, hope this helps you out

- Ok you are absolutely right about not having rubber backed rugs on hard wood. First , yes it doesn t allow the wood to breath and on certain finishes it will permanently stain the finish. And if you go w/o a rubber backed carpet, the other posters are right about a matt. BUT It must be the matting made for hard wood to allow it to breath. They make a few different types and sizes ( so know your rug size) These will do there job, collect dust and lose there griping power after a few months. Toss in the washer to renew the tackiness(leaves no residue) and your good to go again Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL

- Q: I need to replace my 45 year old carpet. It is showing it's age. But one thing that has never been done is having it re stretched. Not one wrinkle. It lays as flat and tight as the day it was put in. - Carpet restretching could be necessary from poor installation, the carpet not being stretched enough when it was installed, but it can also be caused by the carpet backing stretching. Carpet backing can stretch from being poorly made, or from humidity or temperature fluctuations. Sometimes even well made and properly installed carpet needs to be restretched. Sometimes poorly made and poorly installed carpet never needs to be restretched. Few carpets besides wool would last 45 years, congrats on keeping your carpet going for so long!
- Q: I spilled hot hair removal wax on my carpet in two places in my aparment. A. Is there any way to remove the wax from the carpet. B. If there is not a way to remove it, does the whole carpet in the room have to be replaced or just the small area? C. How much does this generally cost. I would rather just pay for it myself than have the landlord try to bill me for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
- well if it wasnt a whole lot then i think you can get it out. my daughter spilled candle wax, quite a bit, on her carpet. at any superstore you can get a product called goof-off or something like that in the paint dept. it took all of the wax out and did not discolor the carpet at all good luck
