Q:I found this rug and it look really expensive, do you know how much it's worth?: not much. it looks diry, and appears to either be machine or tufted.

Q:My animals have caused havoc on my new beautiful large shag rug,, any insight. i.e. I dont own a machine that does carpet cleaning.: If the rug has a rubber backing, you can machine wash it. Take it to a laundromat and use the machines there. Cold water, regular laundry detergent. Then bring the rug home and hang it to air dry. If the rug has a stiff canvas backing, you will need to either rent a carpet cleaner or hire a professional to clean it. Good luck. -

Q:please tell me how to tell whether or not to put a rug my horse, she lives out she is not clipped but she will be soon i live in cavan ireland so it can get cold so could someone tell me what signs i should look out for to tell when is the right time to put on a rug.p.s my horse is an irish sports horse if that makes a diffrence: Well when she is not clipped only put it on if you are positive she needs it. When in doubt go without. When she is clipped it depends on what short of clip if it's summer just get a lightweight cotton rug if it's winter get a good heavy rug. Remember though for when she is not clipped her hair acts like a heater and an aircon Remember for when she is not clipped When In Doubt Go Without Feeling the bottom of her ears is also a good indication of weather she is cold or hot.

Q:I'm buying a New Forest on Thursday and have done some research but just want to see what your opinions are? Lady has a very thick coat on at the moment and for the time being, while I gradually get her back into work I won't clip her. Will she be ok in and out without a rug? Thanks in advance.: Keep her the way she is for now until you start to do more than gentle hacking. But ask the previous owners about how much work she's been doing and whether they have clipped her in the past. I kept a NF unclipped throughout her life and always let her coat get reasonably thick before rugging her up for the rest of the winter. However, she was only ever in light work and did not sweat much. Cold is rarely a problem, only rain AND cold will bother her, so she will not need a very thick rug. I would say 9 or 12 rating is more than enough. I'm jealous - you're going to have SO MUCH FUN! :D
