Q: The carpet in my apartment was old to begin with and then I got my dog a few months ago and we have poty training issues. Now my carpet and whole place smells. I bought a carpet cleaner and have tried all sorts of produts but nothing seems to work. I don't really want to have them done professionaly done because of the dog. Help?
Go to a good pet store and buy urine be gone, it may help somewhat, like the other poster said the smell might have gone to the padding and the ply wood.
Q: I have two dogs and I am so tired of all the fur on the rugs.
I desire you may make clean the question. Do you merchandise basically to fur, or additionally to leather-based? What approximately eating meat? To me, there is not any ethical or ethical distinction between any of those issues. I devour meat and that i positioned on leather-based, so I have not have been given any reason to criticize all and sundry who wears fur. If somebody avoids all animal byproducts, I understand their perspective, whether i do no longer trust it. If somebody products to specific animal products yet no longer others, then they have not fairly theory the concern by way of alright.
Q: okaii so i had some accidents and droped food on my carpet (my room) anyways i was wandering if anyone has a trick to remove carpet stains?? plzzz i need help cuz i hate it how my carpet looks dirty so yeah plizz help me!!!! :P
You okorder cause it is hard to find in stores.
Q: I am looking into buying a good carpet cleaning machine. I have looked at some brands like Bissel (spelling?)... and Hoover. Anyone know anything about them or own one? Are the supplies for them expensive? I also want something that wont leave a residue. Thanks for any help!
my husband bought me the bissel that heats the water it wasnt much just over two hundred dollars and i find that it works really well, the cleaners for them dont cost too much either they are carried at walmart, zellers, most stores
Q: I just spilled coke on the cream colored carpet and just scrubbed it down with a wet wash cloth thoroughly. The problem is that I don't know if it will stain when it dries. How can I get the stain out if it occurs without ruining the carpet. I live in an apartment and don't want any damage.
Next time, don't scrub, just blot repeatedly. Now just press a damp (not wet) wash cloth into the area and leave it overnight. The sugar will tend to migrate up into the cloth as the outside of the cloth dries. Tomorrow when the cloth feels quite dry, check the stain. It may be all gone. Let the carpet dry completely and fluff up the nap with an old hairbrush or coarse comb. If there's still signs of the stain (likely around the outside of the perimeter where you were scrubbing, try brushing a mixture of baking soda and salt into the carpet. The salt has a slight bleaching action; the baking soda is a good absorbent. Leave on the stain for 24 hours and vacuum.
Q: i wana get a russian tortoise can i keep it on carpet in its tort table.
NO it is not good, tortoises can inhale carpet fibers, and that can cause a RI or respiratory infection. Rep ti-bark is a good choice, sand is unsuitable because it is too dry and most tortoises like a more humid environment, also bad for burrowing. I have a russian tortoise ( good job at least someone other than me made a tortoise table! ) and he LOVES rep ti bark, he is around 1 or 2 ( i'm guessing) and when I put him in my house for a walk, he runs away from the carpet. So, no carpet for him because it will cost hundreds of dollars in vet bills. You can use rep ti it is as comfy as carpet but cheaper
Q: himy apartment already has carpet, but it looks kinda ratty, so i bought an area rug.....it keeps bunching up in the same spot though.....is there any adhesive i could buy that works on carpet?
There is several types and sizes of matts that you put under area rugs. These will help stop the rugs from scooching. But you must get the type for rugs over carpets. So know your rug size and get one that will fit. You can trim to size with scissors. You don t want an adhesive, it will ruin any carpet. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q: We are going to have our 3 year old carpet stretched. We also need to have it professionally shampooed. Which service should we have done first?
Any proper cleaning should not get moisture into the padding. As far as carpet, only natural fibers have a chance of shrinkage (not common), such as wool. With over 10,000 cleanings under my belt, I personally have never come across carpet shrinkage due to cleaning, though I have heard of one case. Almost all wall-to-wall carpet nowadays is synthetic... usually nylon, polyester, or polypropylene. A rippling effect is almost always a result of poor installation, and is worsened by consistent foot traffic and the moving of heavy furniture. I usually recommend for my customers to have the carpet stretched prior to cleaning. Carpet being cleaned first has no effect on how well the carpet will be stretched. However, cleaning a carpet with ripples in it will not provide quite as nice results as opposed to a nicely stretched one. Flat and flush to the cleaner's equipment works best. If done correctly, the repair technician should cut a line of carpet from the baseboard and not just tuck the excess from stretching, otherwise the carpet will begin to ripple again in the future. With heavy rippling a power-stretcher must be used, but a simple knee kicker should work fine for mild cases. Having the cleaning done after allows the technician to clean up the tufts and debris left by the repair tech. Plus, you'll have a fighting chance of getting rid of possible ripple marks that may be left after stretching. I have heard it recommended both ways, but in actuality it's not extremely important which one you choose to do first. I've done it both ways many times and eventually settled toward preferring the carpet to be stretched first. Also, I wouldn't recommend having the carpet shampooed. This will leave an unwanted residue coating your carpet's fibers. It's best to use the hot water extraction method, commonly known as steam cleaning.
Q: I finally convinced my parents to let me have a pony which we are looking for now! Theres only one problem..rugs! I know I need at least one turnout,a stable, A travel/cooler to start with. I'm just not sure what type of turnout rug to get(heavyweight, medium, light) for (i) a 14.2hh pony with a trace clip(ii) a 14.2 pony with a blanket clip(iii) a 14.2hh pony with a full clipBy the way its Irish/Brittish weatherI just dont want the pony to be too warm as its spring or too cold if we have any cold spells! Thanks
My boy is a 14.3hh bay pony. I bought two Harrison Howard rugs for him. The rug for winter keeps him dry and warm, and the summer rug keeps him cool in the sun??s heat.
Q: I've just moved into a beautiful older home (125 years) and, although it's been recently re-wired, there just isn't always an outlet where I need it. I live with my elderly mother and do not want to take a chance that she might trip over a cord. When I do short tasks like ironing or vacuuming, can I slip the excessive cord under a rug so that she will not encounter it with her feet. She is absolutely sure that I'll burn the house down - and she's incredibly intelligent, but I'd like to hear from a real fire prevention expert.Thank you for your expertise - I think that safety is essential - paranoia is a bit much, though!
Folks, it is oh so important to READ carefully, the question you're considering answering. I see absolutely nothing wrong, in the least, with this lady's idea of putting any excess cord under a throw rug so that her mother doesn't trip on it. As long as you don't forget it, and leave it there, you're perfectly safe. Check the cords in question to be sure they're in decent condition, don't put cords under any rug or sheet or anything of that nature that is showing wear of any kind of the insulation around the wires. As long as you observe a few common sense ideas you should be safe as safe can be. If, in the future, you find yourself wanting more recepts than you currently have, you could purchase one of the new multi-outlet extension cords used by carpenters, electrians, builders, workmen, in a #12 size wire. It won't be real cheap, but they come in 25 ft, and 50 ft. lengths. You could plug that into one outlet in any room and run it around the outer edges of the room to wherever you want electricity. You can leave it there indefinitely, as it doesn't draw any juice as long as nothing is plugged into it. Being on the outer reaches of the room, it's easily hidden by running it behind a cabinet, or chair or couch, etc. We live in a house built in 1904, so 106 years old, we've done this in many rooms, and are still utilitizing them to this day. We also have much of the old ball and tube wiring functional in our basement and a few walls.
