Q: Hi well I'm wondering if I can by those 8 pin 6 pin power cords what goes in to your graphics card to plug in to a power socket on the wall. Because I only have 500 wats and at the moment I have the 4850 and already I'm thinking about getting the GTx 295 or something can't remember. But it needs more then 500 wats lmao.I don't wont to upgrade my PSU so will I be able to plug the GTx in to the the wall like as a sprite power cable what goes in to the AC power cable in the wall?BTW I live in Australia so could could you tell me where you are like USA London ect just in case Australia doesn't have it. =)And where can I buy this transfer as well.
You cannot plug it into the wall. Its too sophisticated. A single GTX 295 requires a 700-watt PSU with a 50 Amp 12v rail. Insane power consumption going on here. Upgradable to quad-SLI (woo). If you can afford a GTX why can't you afford the PSU? A PSU regulates your power and protects your equipment from voltage spikes etc. Get the PSU. Whats wrong with your 4850? can your board support a x-fire setup (two 4850s linked?) That'd be cheaper in the long run.
Q: If so, where will i have to go to get it?
That's was my problem too. I let my garage to use it and buy another brand.I think you have to re-install it.Maybe it was corrupted.
Q: Included in my EVGA 8800gs box was a 6 pin to 2x 4 pin molex power cable. My current power supply already had a 6 pin power cable. My Cooler Master 500w power supply has dual rails pushing 16amp each. The requirements for the EVGA 8800gs are:Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply.(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 22 Amp Amps.)Notice the 22 amp. To supply this power, am I supposed to connect the 6 pin to 2x 4 pin molex power cable to each of the 16amp rails from my power supply therefor providing 32amp? How am I supposed to get 22amps to the card? Most all power supplies I see that are dual railed go no higher than 20amp per rail.Any thoughts? Thanks,Brad
If you already have a 6 pin then your good to go. The 2x 4pin molex connectors are for the case if you didn't have the 6pin. The rails on a PSU are not independant, they are combined. Look for the maximum loading of your PSU.
Q: So i'm trying to start up an old windows 98 model. I was thinking of using the cable from a laptop because it fits into the power supply. Problem is i don't know if its safe, advice?. On the computer it says quot;AC input: 115V~/230V~,10/5A 60/50HZON the power cable on the other hand, it says 16A 250VAm i good to go?
Both the 250v and the 15A are higher than the computer will need / be consuming So it is safe to use.
Q: On my PSU I have two PCI-E 6 pin cables. I have looked at the motherboard and saw there is nowhere to plug it in and my motherboard manual says of no slots for it but I do have two PCI-Express slots. Do they plug into the cards themselves or something? How do I use the PCI-E power cables?
No you do not choose a pci-e connector promptly from the potential furnish. maximum pictures enjoying cards presently comprise a 2-a million molex-to-pci-e connector with them. If it doesnt comprise one, they pass much less costly at your interior reach workstation save. wish I helped P.S maximum potential components presently the two have alot of molex connectors or a pci-e connector on them so which you need to be wonderful.
Q: And would this increase my reception
The power cable? I dont think it would do anything to increase your reception. That just feeds the 12 volts needed to power the radio. It does nothing for reception. You really would be wasting your time and money in doing that.
Q: I have lost the Power cable and couldn't find it anywhere but i have tried using my Printer's cable (HP) and it worked but i am wondering if there is any risk from using it? could it affect the ps4 in any way?
no, a lot of appliances contain the same ports thus you can use your printer cable for your PS4. i've done this a lot because when my dog was little she would chew up all the wires to my appliances. other then that no as long as it properly fits and your not forcing it in then it will work just fine. those cables are also not hard to replace where as some appliances got retarded ports and thus you MUST buy a new one via the manufacturer alone.
Q: I'm extending one of my PSU power cables because is to short. the line got 2 black/1 yellow and 1 red (molex) I know the colors have to be matched but if at the other end I end up mixing the 2 black lines, will there be a problem?ps: I already sleeved the cable for that matter I can't see the 2 black cables inside and i forgot to mark them. :)
swapping the black wires will not cause any problems.
Q: I was looking at buying the MSI HD6850 cyclone OC/power edition but on the msi website it says it includes an external power cable. Am I missing something? Do I need more than the standard pci-e 6 pin connector from the PSU?
Some graphics cards require you to connect a power cable to the board. As it requires more power than it can get through the pci connection.
Q: Do all power supplies 450 watt(or above)have the 12v 4 pin?
Almost all current motherboards power their CPU with a 12 volt CPU power cable. There are two kinds: the 4 pin 12V cable and the 8 pin 12V cable. The 4 pin cable is often called a P4 cable (although it's a very bad name) and the 8 pin cable is called an EPS12V cable. The P4 cable is the most common. You should find it on 90% of power supplies you buy on the market, regardless of how many watts they have. Some power supplies have both the 4pin and 8 pin cables for redundancy. ~~~ All modern power supplies nowadays have 4 pin CPU power cables. They come as a standard. The 24 pin ATX power supply is also quite common, it's kind of hard to get one that's 20 pin nowadays.
