- You should allow 3 ft beyond the table at each chair to allow for moving the chair away from the table. Then make your measurements including the additional 6 ft added to the length and to the width. You can try the Home Depot or Lowes websites but I thinks it's wise to inspect carpeting personally when purchasing.

- first of all, are you looking for an heirloom piece? Try oriental rugs or persian rugs. Very costly. Can set you back a couple grand but will increase in value over time. you need to look behind the rug for the quality. You are looking for handstitched and lots of detail, etc. The most important characteristic for me is durability and washability. Some you can put into the washer, others need special cleaners, some are spot clean only. The second characteristic important to me is texture. I like plush soft carpets that you can walk on with your bare feet. Of course, color choice and design are important. (floral? transitional? contemporary?) I like transitional. I'm a fan of Mohawk and Shaw area rugs. You can find them at Home Depot. Reasonable prices for machine made rugs.

But the thin rug may rip easily if he rolls on frosty ground and catches himself, or the snow may melt in the middle of the night and the water will seep through the rug and soak the fleece. - Its amazing whats in our rugs-blankets and so on that we cannot see with the human eye! I watched a show once on that and WOW and EWWWWWW some of the things u couldnt see with bare eyes but was there under a microscope! Just nasty! Even on our makeup blush brush! It was showing all kinds of nasties on them too! So I try to be extra careful especially with blankets and such but Im sure there is probably one or two somethings that I just dont want to know about! lol
