- Q: I bought an area rug from Home Depot, a large 7x9 rectangular rug. It has creases from being rolled up. I have searched online for any tricks that will help it to lay flat, and nothing seems to be working. I have:Rolled the rug the opposite way.Turned the rug over for 2 days.Ironed the areaI attempted to heat a wet towel in the dryer to place it on the area... but by the time I got the towel to my rug, it wasn't warm anymore.I've heard of any quot;ice cube trickquot;, but I seriously don't understand it. If the creased line is the length/width of the rug, do you place 7 feet of ice cubes on it???I have had this rug for almost 3 months! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you could give me any suggestions or tricks, I'd really appreciate it.
- Lay the rug out in the sun to warm Then back roll the rug is the best way to do it. It should be back rolled around a tube. Carpet tubes work the best. Roll it tight. If the rug is large have some one help you. Then place in a very warm area such as out in the sun for as long as possible during the day. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL

- yes it is a great carpet and they stand behind it. l would always be concerned about light colours in high traffic areas and if you have chosen pile in high traffic areas...this will quickly be matted and will show dirt, regardless of the stain resistance...you must vacuum, preferably every day...because the dirt will go down to the base of the carpet and wear it out.
- Q: Can you lay new carpet over old carpet. Because of my age and health it is not possible for me to rip out the old; but I would like to lay down some new to freshen up my computer room.
- Loose-laying new carpet over old carpet could cause several problems. First, the carpet could shift if it's just laid in over the old carpet and not secured down by stretching it over tackstrip. Also, having carpet pad and two layers of carpet laid on top of each other will increase the height of your floor substantially, which may cause you to have problems opening and closing doors into that room. It will also make the flooring in that room noticeably higher than that in the surrounding rooms. Finally, you stated in your question that due to age and health reasons you can't rip out the old carpet. If you're unable to rip out the old installation, I doubt that installing new carpet would be a good idea, since even a single room's worth of carpeting is very heavy, and installing it, even as loose-lay over existing flooring would require moving all of the furniture out of the room. If you're going to go that far, you should probably just hire someone to rip out the old carpet, install the new, and do it properly.
- Q: i am looking into the future and looking at what i need to buy for a horse *so i can save up enough*right now i'm looking at rugs and saddles.. i have been looking on the horseland website (sells all horse stuff for outside aussies)and i have noticed that some saddles range from $300 - $800 *could never afford one over $1000* ... there doesnt seem to be much difference between them both...
- I bought a saddle from a girl in the local Pony Club for $300. I have had it for three years and will probably have it for many more, it is in good condition. Buy a almost new used saddle and clean and condition it every so often. It will keep the leather soft and supple. And it will keep the saddle in better condition so it will last longer. For rugs, I would get a thick rug in the winter (well, actually, it depends how cold it gets there) and in the summer, you don't even need a rug. You could get a protective shett. It is like a rug that protects them from pests like flies and mosquitos. In the winter, I would just sponge it down and wait for him/her to cool down then put a cooler (a special blanket for a horse that has just worked hard). Later you can put a thicker blanket on, like when he is totally back to normal. In the summer I would do the same thing (put the cooler on) then put on the protective sheet or just nothing. My horse doesn't use a rug int the winter. I hope this helped you.

- Q: I have horses aswell, and we always put rugs on them to suit the weather conditions, but never put any rugs on the donkeys. Their coat is thick, but would getting them a rug still be a good idea to keep them warm? Its snowing where I live at the minute, and its meant to be getting even colder soon!
- I agree with Janian. They shouldn't need a rug. Donkeys (and horses) can handle cold just fine. What they can't handle is a combination of wet and windy. Then they might need a waterproof blanket, but they should have a shelter to stay dry in anyway. A blanket can actually make them colder by pushing down the fluffy hair, which is meant to insulate them from the cold.
