- Q: I do not want to get a cheap carpet. Is $30 a sq yard above average or expensive?
- Decent okorder
- Q: Hey guysSo i threw up on a living room rug, the kind that goes under a coffee table, and it's been sitting there in my backyard for a while. I know i can't get the stain out myself, so i was wondering, how much would it cost to get the rug professionally cleaned? I need to clean it. I don't need to know exact prices, just like, an average carpet cleaning price. Thanks alot guys
- The cheapest way to clean a rug is clean it yourself using rug cleaner or you can rent a rug cleaner from one of the grocery stores for a couple of hours. If you hire a professional it will cost too much.
- Q: What kinds of carpets hold up well with kids and pets. We have berber now, and it seems to trap stains and pet odor than typical carpet. Any suggestions?
- Look at the carpets used in pubs and restaurants - they are usually an Axminster weave incorporating a design and colours. Plain carpets just don't suit kids and pets - every little mark will show. Unfortunately, the current fashion is a bland decorating and furnishing scheme which goes with the rage for the Japanese/minimalistic look, but isn't family and homely, friendly, let your hair down lifestyle. The most hard-wearing carpet mixture is 80% wool and 20% synthetic. A Wilton weave is good and is either plain or up to three colours - with the above fibre mix it will last not only your lifetime, but that of your kids, too! Can you find carpets made by Brintons of Kidderminster in your neck of the woods - they usually supply the big cruise liners, and other large areas which will suffer a great deal of foot traffic.
- Q: my doctor prescribed me this benzoyl peroxide gel for my face and i accidentally got a big glob of it on my rug. I went to clean it up with these red tissues and it started to turn my rug red! The next day, I put this carpet cleaner on it (one that has to sit for 15 minutes then you vacuum it) and it turned it orange!
- Your rug looks bleached. If that is the case, you will have to color it. But, if this indeed a stain causing this color: Go to Home Depot and pick up Liftoff 2 (oil and adhesives) It will be in the paint aisle. spray it on your stain, let sit for 30 seconds, scrub and vacuum. Repeat as necessary, rinse and let dry. However, like I said before, it looks like your rug is bleached, not stained.
- Q: My table has 2 leafs and extends to seat 8 comfortably. It's probably about 105quot; long with 2 leafs. The wide is 3 1/2 feet. I was thinking I should get a 9' x 12' rug. What does an expert think?
- That should work just fine.
- Q: Today I placed my laptop on the living room rug for a little while, and when I picked it back up I could feel little tiny bumps on the base of it. So I turned my laptop upside down and I could see about 30 or so super tiny bugs that were crawling around. They are so small that it's hard to say what color they are. But they are smaller than a grain of sugar! I do have two dogs, so I dont know if they came from the dogs, but I have never seen these things before. Does anyone know what they might be?
- flees poor dogs must be itchy
- Q: It is a shag type rug made with leather strips. I need to know how to vaccum it without tearing it up or blowing up my vaccum cleaner. I have a dog that sheds horribly twice a year and well, this is one them!
- Vaccum with out the rollers on. Regular stores like Walmart, Kmart, Meijers, etc will carry a vaccum that only sucks dirt with out roller that will tangle your leather strips. It is really cheap.
- Q: well my brother spilled iced tea all over the carpet
- Quickly pour some ammonia and baking soda over the spilled tea so it can't get a chance to stain the carpet. If you have a little green hand held steam cleaner that would really help get the water and tea pulled up out of the carpet. But there is always a way to dry a carpet. Get a bunch of bath towels and lay them over the wet spots now and step on them and squeeze out the water and liquid onto the bath towels. You may have to use a few towels to get it dry as you possibly can by stepping on the bath towels. Also you can twist around while you are absorbing the dampness. Once that job is done and the stain got lifted out you should put the bath towels into the washing machine and wash them and dry them, fold em and you're done. Best of Luck it happens to everyone now and then. A couple weeks ago I spilled a full glass of red punch onto my tweed berber carpet and what an awful mess that was to clean up as fast as I could so the red didn't get a chance to dye my carpet. It still has two small darker areas but it isn't red.
- Q: My carpet is going to kill me. This is southern texas, and there is always dust everywhere. How can I thoroughly clean the carpet? I really can't afford a big machine, and I borrowed my moms cheap one, and it did nothing. If I buy carpet cleaner, can I just scrub it with my tub scrub brush or something?
- I need to clean a 13 x 13 room and was just looking up earlier answers for cleaning options. I'm going to try mixing a bit of Tide and OxiClean in a big bucket of warm water, scrubbing with a nylon-bristle scrub brush, and letting it dry thoroughly. I'm just going to try NOT to soak the carpet and NOT knock over the bucket.... Good luck!
- Q: Our living room carpets really stained, and no matter what we use to clean it...It doesnt work. Even if professionals do it it looks like nothing helped. Any suggestions on gettin it clean?
- What kind of stains are they? I have a toddler, so I have all kinds of little juice drips and such on my carpet. I find that OxyClean works pretty good to get most of them out. One sure eay to get them all out is to just replace the carpet.
