- Q:It's pretty funny because we are both artist but can't seem to agree on a rug. My living room is bubble gum pink, yes and extremely wild color. My sofa is a sage or dull fern green. - I would use a cream colored flokati rug for this room I would also find a way to introduce more of the sage in the room, but in a lighter sage than the couch. Keep the pink walls, they are probably very striking.

- If they have lived all their lives without rugs then they wont need them. The majority of horses do not need rugs, people just think that they do. A horse or donkey can regulate its temperature very well, by putting a rug on you are actually stopping their bodies from working properly. The only time I would put rugs on is if it constantly rains/snows and they live outside with no shelter, otherwise they will keep themselves warm and happy as long as they have enough to eat.

- first of all, why do you need a rug on carpet? put friction stuff underneath its kinda meshy texture that is also used inside cabinets, sold at home stores and probally home depot good luck and hope this helped!
- Q:I just recently moved and the carpet in the bedroom is brown. I don't have the money to replace it, but I would like to brighten it. I can tell at one point it was a very dark brown and has lightened up over time. I would like to know how to darken it without having to replace it yet. Is there a way to darken it?
- It would be less expensive to replace the carpet, using a carpet remnant available from a specialized carpet store. Take your room measurements with you and look around. These carpet stores are anxious to sell these remnants and will take a reasonable offer on them. Nylon carpet is perhaps the easiest carpet to dye and going from a light color is the best choice when dyeing this fiber. Olefin carpet cannot be dyed. Polyester carpets, made from recycled plastic bottles is relatively inexpensive to begin with and is, in my estimation and experience, not worth dyeing. If you follow through with the replacement, carefully examine the carpet pad to see if it to should be replaced. Removing the old carpet and pad is relatively easy and something you can do your self with a utility knife. Cut it in smaller pieces from the backside to make removal easier. If you shop for a remnant, make an offer they cannot refuse.

Does anyone have tips on how to clean the rug myself without renting a shampooer and maybe how to deodorize the rug. - When we have an area rug that needs cleaning we take it up to our local self service car wash. The high powered washers work really well cleaning and rinsing the rugs. We usually just hang them over the clothes line to let them drip dry and they look like new.
- Q:I have to enlarge a raised hearth into a living room. It is already a 12quot; wide x 57quot; rectangle, 8quot; high, into the room with the carpet stretched to tack strip to the old design. I have to make it 10quot; wider into the room to meet code for the fireplace. How should I cut the carpet so that it can be stretched to the new design? My instinct is to draw out the new design, plus the tile dimension, onto the carpet and razor cut along that pattern. Is this correct, or does anyone have a better suggestion? Thank you.
- how long is the project going to take? if it is just going to be a few days and you plan on someone getting a stretcher and stretching the carpet back in the new place,I would just pull all the carpet back from one side of the wall,where the herth is, and then put it in and let the carpet guys go from there.... they will also have to take up the old tackwood and put new around the hearth so that would make it a lot easir for them...... if for some reason,like the room is to odd shaped you can't do it like that just allow a couple inches in from the measurements of the new hearth on the carpet and rough cut it...........
