- Q: What would the wire size be for a 3 phase 4 wire - 480/277V - 400A panelboard. Would it be (3) 600mcm w/ (1) 1/0 ground?
- Well not quite: 1. The panelboard is 4 wire therefore the (3) in the description would be (4). The 4th wire is for the neutral and required if you are using the 277. Otherwise the panelboard is a 3 wire board and no 277 2. 600 kcmil copper with 75°C insulation is able to carry 420 A as long as the ambient temperature < 86°F (30°C) and are installed by themselves (not in a raceway/cable tray with other power conductors). If the conductors are aluminum, the temperature is hot, the installation has multiple conductors in the same raceway/cable tray, or the distance is of sufficient length resulting in unacceptable voltage drop, the cable must be derated -- read you must increase the size to 750 kcmil or increase the insulation rating to 90°C The ground conductor should be of sufficient size
- Q: Ok, i want to make a flash gun. I made one before with my cousin, but it broke. I remember what i used to make it, and how to make it, i just need the names of the wires and parts i need. How I made it: I had a battery connected to a wire that connected to a tube that had a special wire in there that heated up when i pressed a button. I would put flash paper in there, and a flame would shoot out. I need to know the name of that wire, I also need to know where to put the button on the wire connected to the battery. A link to a picture, or a detailed explanation would be really cool! Thanks!Nick
- That okorder The circuit is simple. The parts are the battery, some regular wire, a push-button switch, and the nichrome wire. Connect one end of the short piece of nechrome wire to one end of a wire. Connect that end to one of the battery terminals. Connect a second piece of wire between the other battery terminal and one side of the switch. Connect a third piece of wire from the switch to the other end of the nechrome wire. When the button is pushed, the wire should heat up.
- Q: A load of 125 kip is being held by 3 wires all going up. The Wire one goes straight from the load to the horizontal. Wire 2 and 3 form a V on top of wire 1 and are 30 degrees from wire 1. This is a 2-D problem.
- You need to use summation of forces. Wires 1 and 2 are gonna have the same tension on them, just in opposite directions. so in the x direction, Fx=125cos(30)+125cos(150) (the vertical wire doesn't contribute to the x-direction forces and I choose 150 because the wire on the left really has an angle of 180-30 or 150) in the y direction, Fy=125sin(30)+125sin(150)+125sin(90) (The vertical wire is a 90 degree angle) Tension=sqrt( Fx^2 + Fy^2 )
- Q: Anyone know which wire behind the navigation unit is the brake wire? I THINK it's pink, but there are multiple pink wires behind the navigation unit.Thoughts?
- Are okorder 's outlander section for a posts on how to disable.
- Q: How can you make the fabric with silk fabric wrinkle free after washing?
- Hello, in order to prevent wrinkles after washing clothes, you should add the final rinse, softening agent, softening agent loss supplement when washing, in order to maintain the soft feeling, reduce wrinkles.
- Q: Which are more secure, wired or wireless networks? Explain.
- Leaving aside ways to attack a network that wired and wireless networks are equally vulnerable to: Wired networks can be protected with physical security (i.e. people generally have to break into a building to get access to a wireless network). Wireless networks can only be protected with encryption (although a properly configured one will have all the traffic encrypted, whereas that isn't the case with a typical wired network). So, generally speaking, wired networks are more secure.
- Q: All household socket have two wires.Plese do not mention grounding, the ground would act as de-facto second wire
- It would depend on the type of power. Three phase AC which is commonly used to transmit power cannot be transmitted in one wire. Single phase ungrounded AC could be transmitted in one wire. DC can also be transmitted in one wire.
- Q: I have two ceiling lights in my kitchen that come into the same wiring box (light switch). It's a single light switch that controls both lights. I want to install a two fixture light switch so that I can turn on each light by itself. It looks like there are only two wires coming into the box...a black one and a white one (and a ground wire). The two-switch I bought is requiring three wires though. How do I wire this thing?
- === you are going to have to rewire the lights to have the new switch operate each fixture independently == that is how it will work ... it is the only way to do what you want done .... at the present there is one pair of wires that operate both fixtures
- Q: I have an old sewing machine without a plug that needs wiring up but it doesn't have the modern wire colours. There's one red wire and one yellow. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks =]
- The red one is the earth wire so should go in the right part by the fuse and the yellow one is neutrol so goes in the top middle bit :) Hope that helps
- Q: friend i want litz wire in this wire consits of group of enamled coted copper wire(like machine winding wire with multi lead wire),so i want types different guages(that each lead in wiretotal wire guage) and no of leadds.my pupose is for project wire for with standing wire capcity of 20amp's. please give information............................
