Q: How do I turn my finished latch hook project into a rug?
Latch Hook Rug Backing
Q: I just looked at a fantastic apartment...but it has this horrible brown shag rug in the main room! It just looks way too retro and reminds me of my grandparent's basement rec. room. The landlord said the apartment could be painted (it would have to be painted back when we left) and right now the walls are all white. What can I do to bring this room into 2007? I was thinking of a nice brown accent wall, or even painting the window trim....any ideas are welcomed!
Shag rugs are back! Believe it or not, silly people all over the world think they are way cool again. Bamboo blinds with a brown accent wall and window trims sound great. Couple that with a warm wheat color on the other walls and modern mixed with photographic art on the walls and you're in business. Just remember that if your furniture isn't really modern or simple the theme will crash. This will not be a room for Victorian or mahogany furniture. Think clean lines and simple strong colors. Good luck!
Q: Is there any easy and/or quick ways to get paint out of carpeting? We painted a bedroom this last weekend, but some paint leaked through the sheets and is on the floor now. Any ideas?
I don't know of any product that will remove paint that has dried already. But they say the rug doctor that you can rent, will get out tough stains
Q: I have a smooth wood floor, and I just bought a rug without the rubber or weaved backing and it seems to slip around on the floor. Does anyone have any cheap suggestions that they know actually work to keep it from slipping all over my living room? Thanks!
Rugs on smooth floors are a serious safety hazard, I would advise against using them at all. There's loads of people seriously injured every year due to them stepping on a rug only to have it slip from under them. If you must have them, I would suggest that you glue something rubber-based on the base of the mat. Possibly a silly idea, but what about some stick on replacement soles for shoes? They're rubber, and they even come with the glue!
Q: I'm moving soon and currently my room is being constructed (dad was a builder/architect)I want a carpet, because whenever my chair rolls, it would scratch the floor boards, but I'm not sure my chair would be able to roll around on a carpet or rug. So will it?
Of course your chair will roll on the carpet. Now if you select a carpet with a low pile on it, it will offer less resistance to your wheels and be easier for you to navigate. A pile like an indoor-outdoor carpet, they have some nice choices,or even some commercial style flooring has a low pile for high traffic areas. You don't have to live in a barn with cold hard floors, you can enjoy carpet! A chair with larger wheels in the front will be able to roll over the floor-to-carpet transitions better. Smaller wheels tend want to get stuck at those points. Especially if the carpet layer folds the carpet edge over (cheap undesired technique in my opinion), rather than using metal carpet strips.
Q: My dog peed on the rug in the bathroom, I know urine has ammonia in it, so would it be okay if I used bleach or would that create a deadly toxin. Can anybody help with this.
you could use bleach but that would just stain the rug. if the spot has dried, wet the spot slightly then pour some bicarbonate of soda down.leave for a while (over night or a few hrs) that will draw the smell out. brush the soda of once you've left it for a while. then clean it with a anti bac carpet cleaner and pat dry.if its small enough you could put it in the washing machine. if the smell is still lingering coffee is good for removing smells. put in down dry on dry fabrics leave again for a while then hover off,you might have to do this a few times, but it should work! hope that helps xxxx
Q: What material does carpet buy better?
Most wool carpets were made from wool before they could produce synthetic fibers. Wool is an animal fiber, tubular, and therefore breathing. When indoor moisture is long, wool can absorb moisture; it can release moisture when it is dry. This property not only enables wool carpets to regulate dry humidity in the room and prevents burning, but also prevents electrification in indoor air. Wool has a scaly surface, a good moisture absorption, and a water repellent function. So wool is difficult to be contaminated. In addition, the wool is spiral, curly, flexible and difficult to stick together. Wool is also easy to dye all kinds of colors, long service life. But wool carpets are expensive.
Q: What kind of material carpet is easy to clean?
Nylon material is better, cleaning, and there is a kind of the latest material is: corn yarn, it uses biotechnology to make corn orange rod into yarn, environmental protection easy to clean, good flexibility is his characteristic. Rinse the red wine with clean water. It's hard to clean! But this little carpet can now domestic production, Ding carpet around the agent should be available. If you can't find it, you can buy nylon material, it is better to clean up
Q: my brother was painting my room, and paint got on the carpet.ive been removing it with nail polish remover (acetone) so i was wondering if the acetone is bad for the carpet or is it fine?PLEASE ANDSWER!
