- Q: so im lost in how i should wire my subs. I have two subs that i need to wire both are 2 ohms 400 watts i don't know if i should wire them parallel or series if you can help me out that would be great!
- usually all sub wiring is the same, youll have the rca cables and antenna wire comming from the radio to the amp, power and ground wire going from amp to battery and ground, and than should have 2 wires coming off each sub to the amp, im guessing thatd be parallel, if you wire in series, so like use 2 wires and splice off to each sub, so 2 wires off the amp powering each sub you would up the ohms and put a too much of a load on the amp, people only wire in series when they have too many subs and not enough outlets on the amp, good luck
- Q: Has anyone tried to use or experiment to use CAT5E wire on a speaker going to Home theater receiver? If none, can you suggest a good speaker wire to use on a speaker.Paradigm Monitor Series and Onkyo TX-SR606 (Speaker and Receiver)
- You okorder . Now - I have seen formulas that do use Cat5 cable for speaker wires. It involves: * Measuring the distances from amp to speaker. Multiply this by 1.3. * Take 8 Cat 5 wires of that extended length. * Cut the outer sheath to free the 8 tiny inner wires * Sit in front of the TV and braid the 8 wires into 4 chains. * Sit in front of the TV and braid the 4 chains into 2. * Sit in front of the TV and braid the 2 chains into 1. * Solder or twist the 8 bare wires on either end together Then - you have speaker wire for the + terminal. Repeat for the - terminal and eventually you can wire up 1 speaker after hours of finger-numbing work. While you may have 'pride' for creating your own speaker wires - the 0.002% improvement you might get over store bought wire seems hardly worth it. Hope this helps.
- Q: I just bought a remote starter/keyless entry/alarm system, i'm looking to install it myself... I'm just wondering what gauge wire that most cars use.I'm assuming power wires are lower gauge then others, Could I use 16 gauge for power lines or would i need something larger? Thanks in advanced.
- i use 16 gauge wire for my car alarm and stereo and ive had no problems so far.
- Q: Need wiring diagram for ford F250 2004 disel

- Q: I have a 1997 Dodge Neon 2DR and i did a electric door and mirror conversion but i cannt figure out the wiring... how would i go about figuring it out... can some explain or better show me how a basic lock and mirror controls are wired
- i own a repair shop, and if you,ll get a good Haynes repair manual on it,this will have the wiring diagrams in it,for doing this ,that's about the only way you can wire it up right on this job, good luck,i hope this help,s.
- Q: Cant find were to tap the wiring for the puddle lights. Can some one please help!
- One wire goes to the frame, the other to a 2 wire toggle switch (if you're using a light up switch it will have 3 wires) inside the cab, then connect the toggle switch to your positive battery terminal (or to the live wire going into your steering column if you want them to be switched on when the key is turned on)
- Q: What causes signal Loss and Distortion in Copper Wire?
- Sonayan kidher the tiger wen, India ya Pakistan? Anyways, White noise and electromagnetic radiation interfernces are the key causes of signal loss and distortion. Any loose connections may also reduce the signal quality, often caculated in decibels.
- Q: The black wire is called ground but what is the red wire called?
- Wire colors are arbitrary. Probably the red wire is a power supply wire, but it could be anything.
- Q: I accidently spilled soda all over a bunch of wires and controllers. I cleaned the controllers off and they're not sticky, but what should i do about the wires?
- Unplug any wires that are plugged in. Fold a damp sponge around each wire, and wipe it down. Make sure it's dry before plugging it back in. No big deal.
- Q: I removed my old door chime/bell a few years ago and replaced it with a wireless one. That one quit working and now I am attempting to install a new wired one again. The only problem is, when I removed my old one way back, I failed to label the existing wires to where they go. I have two wires coming out of my wall mount, one white, one brown and the both have a white and red wire sticking out of them. I am not sure which one/ones will connect to the FRONT and TRANS posts on my new chime. I don't have a rear door bell button so that is not a problem. Which wire goes to the FRONT and TRANS and do I cap off any of the 4 wires? My installation instructions don't cover the mindless mistake of not having the wires labled.
- Garage door springs are part of the garage door itself, not the garage door opener. That said, it must also be added that the springs make it much easier to raise and lower the door. They generally last a long time, and they have only one function. But over time, all that lifting, through all those weather changes, tend to weaken the metal and lead to a break. In my case, the springs appeared to be original to the house, which means they've been at work since 1956. Once you understand that long record of service, it becomes a little hard to complain when they finally break down. And break down they did. It was a Sunday afternoon, and we were sitting around the quiet house reading. Suddenly, we heard a large noise that sounded like a very heavy object had fallen on the roof, or maybe a car had driven into the side of the house. I quickly started hunting around for the cause, and couldn't find a thing. So much noise, and no noticeable cause? Didn't make sense . . . until I went out later and tried to open the garage door. Even then, it took me some time to figure out that the spring had split. Once I discovered it (see photo), I knew I'd found the source of the noise. With a broken spring and a solid wood door to a two-car garage, you really can forget about opening the door. I couldn't lift it more than an inch.
