- Q: can i use rubbing acholhol?
- sure but i used to use black magic tire wet on them, to keep em moving fast! Also a rag with soem wd-40 will keep me in good shape and acutlly keep em cleaner longer, though grim may stick to it they be nice and slick for while, dont dont use anything water based.
- Q: when should i buy new bearings? i've had modus titanium for a year now should i buy some new bearings?
- If you see they stop after 2sec then your bearings needs to be changed as soon as possible but if they are slower you should clean them up with gasoline or lubricant I think that good skate board bearings will last maybe 8 or 9 month if you take care of them properly means cleaning them at least every two weeks.
- Q: ok I took apart my bearings, cleaned the shields with water, put about 2 drops of lube in each after letting the bearings sit in a 50% alcohol solution for 10 minutes, put it all back together after drying off the stuff and lubing it. Just rode it today and it seems that the bearngs are making noise.... is this normal???
- the proper way to clean bearing is to soak them in karosene and then pack them w lube/ grease the alchol proally dried em out

- Yep - bad news for the bearings. The wheel bearings in those things are unsealed ball bearings and are susceptible to getting water inside. Freezing makes the water crystallize and when it melts the dispersed water is changed to droplets that rust the balls and races. Bicycle wheels have the same problem. The carts belong to the store and the manager is responsible for seeing they are treated properly. As an employee your job is to treat them the way the manager says. If he says pour acid on them, pour acid on them.
- Q: My two front wheels on my skateboard randomly lock up. You know how you're suppose to leave a little wiggle room when you tighten the nut? Well after a few minutes of skating the wiggle room is gone and it's like I tightened down my bolt all the way. - If you aren't using speed ring, use them. Replace axle nuts. Could be bearing migration from excess bearing lube. Remove bearings and wipe outer race with denatured alcohol. Wash the wheels with dish soap and water. Make sure to wash the bearing seats. Dry before placing the bearings back in. If it happens only on one side but not the other, it's axle slip. Send trucks back to manufacturer.

- AS usual there is far more to this on the surface than might be as the differential bearings means this is to do with wear of the crown and pinion gears and the loading of the bearings this is a specialized job. it requires special knowledge and whilst doing this other bearings with in the differential need to be replaced hence the high cost so yes sometimes when the car is a newer model this is a cheaper option. but in cars of a certain age this repair is the only option so is the car really worth this expenditure.

- well, as she said bones reds bearings and swiss, but if it comes down to where you cannot fond them, there are lucky, shortys and other hardware related brands. also, regular skateboarding companies make them such as: Girl, Pig, Quickies, Speed Demons and probbably more. hope this helped a little :)

- Don't use WD-40 it ***** up your bearings. To lube them just take them out of the wheels and usually the inside part isn't covered and just put in Bones Speed Cream or some other skateboard company lube in them. Sometimes the inside part is covered, if it is you might be able to take it off but sometimes you can't and the ones that you can't take them off then you can't lube them.
