Q: Whats better and why?Lucky Abec 7 bearings or Bone Reds?
Bones Reds bearings are personally my favorite bearing cause they are pretty cheap and will last you a very long time plus they roll smooth and fast ive rode some i got for maybe almost a year and they still ride great
Q: I'm getting some ABEC 5 bearings, but I don't know if I need them sealed or shielded. Right now I'm a beginner so I'm just cruising with the occasional hill if that makes a difference in what I need.
Some people mistakenly call shields as seals. No one actually uses seals on skates or boards, they create too much drag. If the drag wasn't there, they would be great since they would actually keep water out. It doesn't matter if you get bearings with metal shields or the neoprene coated ones (more likely to be mistakenly called seals. The neoprene ones are all removable for cleaning and lubricating. Most metal shields are removable but occasionally you find non serviceable bearings that have shields that are permanently staked in place. With some work, you can remove the shields on non serviceable bearings by destroying one of them. You only need one shield that is the side of the bearing you see from the outside.
Q: i have a 94 vigor and im going to replace the front rotors/pads soon. it has rotors pressed on the hub (common on early 90s hondas) so when changing the rotors, new wheel bearings have to be put also because when pressed out, the old bearings will be junk. so i will have to remove the steering knuckle and take it to a machine shop so the can press the new bearing in.

One way bearing is a type of bearing that can only be turned in one direction and locked in another direction.The metal shell of the one-way bearing, contains a lot of rollers (or needle ball), and the rolling block (acupoints) shape so that it can only roll in one direction, (because the installation direction of the rolling direction opposite spring, so spring is compressed). In another direction when the rolling direction and spring mounting same direction, not to cause the compression spring, up roller, roller to produce a lot of resistance in between the inner shell and outer shell (the so-called "one-way"), stop rolling bearing.
Q: I have a 100 dollar budget on either trucks bearings or wheels. I have been riding my long board for a while but I dont really know to much on how most of the parts work. I want my longboard to go faster and stay fast for a while without slowing down. Should I buy new bearings or trucks. I have a sector 9 bob marley pintail longboard with bone reds trucks. If I buy knew bearings or trucks do I have to buy new wheels as well. But If I had to pick either buying new bearings or new trucks which one would be best for my longboard. thanks
If you have $100 you can seriously buy both. But if you are looking for longer roll time, bearings are what you need. NEVER SPEND A LOT OF BEARINGS!!! Bearings should never cost more than $15. If you get a good set of bearings and keep them cleaned and lubed when needed, there will be no difference between $100 bearings and $10 bearings. I recommend MileHighSkate or Magic bearings if you can get them. They are high quality and $9. If not, Bone Reds are easy to find, but arent as nice and cost $15. I also HIGHLY recommend you get bearing spacers. They are $5 and go inside your bearings and allow you to tighten your wheels all the way, giving you a smoother ride. You should also have speed rings too (those 8 rings that come with your current trucks). Trucks will not help you go faster.

Kyle Take off the wheel Look at the bearing, there should be a 4 digit number like 6008 That's your bearing size If there's no number you have to measure the outside and inside diameter with a vernier caliper and plug the size into google to get which bearings you need. But probably standard skateboard bearings most likely.

Q: I have a rm 125 and I might need to split the case to make some repairs and I was wonderin if you have to replace all of the bearings and seals when you do it
I always replace any seals that I have to mess with when I'm in there - so the kickstarter shaft seal, the clutch push rod seal, and the countershaft seal (if I remove that shaft from the cases). I also replace crankshaft main seals/bearings. If it's a low hour machine, that would be it. Although I'd check all the bearings just because I'm paranoid. If it's a hi mileage bike, and it's got a crank main bearing going out or something, then yea, I'd replace all the seals and most of the bearings. Normally the smaller bearings pressed in the cases are ok and don't need to be replaced unless you've had a tranny or clutch failure that's thrown a bunch of metal shrapnel inside. You will need to replace all the gaskets though, no matter what.
Q: I took my Expedition to the dealer to check he alignment..... they told me they could not do that because the wheel bearings (all four) needed to be replaced. I took it to two other mechanics.... they said maybe only two needed to be replaced. I didn't ask these other mechanics about the alignment.
The wheel bearings need to be replaced, and then your car will need an alignment. My wheel bearings caused my alignment to be off, and caused excessive wear on my tires and my steering wheel starting to shake. If you're noticing excessive wear or bald patches on your tires, RUN to the dealership to get your wheel bearings repaired. It will cost you so much more to not get it done, and you won't feel safe until it's done.
Q: My rear bearings are bad I have a new set I just want to no how difficult they are to change and what it all consists of
rear bearings in the engine or the differential. the two are very different but either one would be a project. the engine, you would have to pull the engine out or pull the oil pan off and deal with it that way. pull all of the main bearing caps and replace them. the rear end is a bit more complex as you have to pull the axles out, pull the carrier and start from there.
