Oh My G-d! My sister and I was talking about the time our brother in -law painted our carpet back in 1972! We sure where laughing and wondering why our Dad let him do it in the first place! What a nightmare! Don't even think about doing it, or you'll be laughing thirty-some years from now too. It'd be better to rip the entire carpet off the floor, and just use throw rugs. Byee
Q: i need to find a website or store (in missouri) selling area rugs under $50 and about 13ft x 13ft in size.
To be very honest with you, the only rug of that size you will find for under $50 will have to be second hand and likely not in great condition. I have never in my life heard of finding that size rug at that type of price. Good luck. If you do find one, please let me know where -- I would order from that supplier even if they are overseas and shipping doubles the cost!
Q: What is a carpet ironing belt?
The function of carpet ironing belt:Applicable to all types of carpet joint between the joints, after heating adhesive carpet, seamless, seam extremely difficult to find, so that the laying of a good room more perfect.
Q: I need a rug for my dorm. Its simple but I can't find it. Maybe it's too simple. Solid White Oval rug about 3X4 or so (rather than a huge rug). I don't want a bathroom mat either. Many websites advertise that they have lots of rugs but I can't find this simple one..... Any ideas? Thanks
in basic terms %. a base color(black, white, brown, tan, beige...) and your typical color(trim). i could recommend: green/brown blue/brown black/pink white/pink white/rainbow in basic terms use regardless of base color (or a similar color) you opt for for the furniture, and a trim color for the pillows/rugs/curtains/decorations. you will possibly desire to difficulty related to the great stuff first, and get around to putting the ending touches later. you're able to additionally use a stencil to paint types on the partitions, and incorporate that development into different aspects of the room. additionally, circulate on google and seek for variety rooms. you may get relatively good suggestions from them. circulate out to random shops and flick with the aid of for suggestions. consistent with danger that lamp ought to paintings with that development you like, or the rugs tournament the pillows. Do regardless of you like. it is your room, and you will possibly desire to like it. good success and chuffed adorning!
Q: My brother has an area rug that constantly bunches. It is on top of carpet and we put a pad with that gripping surface under it, but it still won't stay put. We need something that will keep it from wrinkling every time someone walks on it. Is there a product (besides duct tape) that will do this?
You mentioned you have a pad. Is it a pad specifically made for a rug going over a carpet. If not that might be the problem. Rug to Rug hold pad is best. It is a thin pad that has a tackiness on both sides. It will not hurt your exisiting carpet, and will hold your rugs in place. It take a few days to get the pad to settle into its memory to hold your rug. A rug to rug hold pad will sometimes lose it tackiness to hold a rug in place, however if you can wash it usually that tackiness comes back. Don't put it in the dryer. The rug to rug hold pad sort of feels like post-a-note tackiness. Usually this type of pad can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowe's and most rug stores will carry a variety of pads. If all else fails you can use double-sided tape, not duct tape.
Q: My carpet needs a good cleaning, but I am afraid that by shampooing the carpet, the wetness will ruin my hardwood floors underneath..
Shampoo The Carpet
Q: I have a nasty old carpet and I don't want to replace it until I decide to get ceramic tiles or fiber glass vinyle. I went to Ikea and bought large area rugs. They move when we walk on them and they wrinkle. I used doubled sided tape, it didn't work. Can I use Gorilla glue? should I spray water first before using the glue?should I use super glue? I own the place, so it is ok to glue rugs to the carpet.
Rugs over carpets are only tacky if they're those small entryway-type rugs. This is an area rug, so I'm sure you'll be fine. An area rug can help to pull a space together and define the dining area as one unit, so I commend you for your choice. It'll really help separate the living area and dining area. Make sure the rug colour and pattern fit in with the rest of the place, though! If the carpet is a neutral beige, you can do a bold colour; make sure it works with the furniture and wallpaint. I doubt you have a dark, vivid carpet, but if you do you would want to go with something lighter and more neutral to contrast with it and still make the delineation of living/dining work. And make sure the rug is not too large or too small. If it's too small, it will make the dining table and chairs seem like they're cramped into a small space. The rug should at least extend slightly beyond the table, although it does not need to extend beyond the chairs. Cheers. ^^ And something I forgot: as Barbiq wisely noted, prints on prints are tricky and usually best avoided.
Q: I found this rug and it look really expensive, do you know how much it's worth?
I'd guess maybe $70-110? Idk I can't price things for crap!
Q: I have a espresso colored round table (i think its about 4' or 5' diameter) and it also incleds a leaf to extend the table into an oval shape. I am trying to decide what kind of rug i should get for underneath the table (there is ceramic tile in this area). Its going into the formal living and dining room in the house which is the first you room you enter when you come into the house. The entire room is about 13' wide by 22' long. There will also be a buffet by the table taking off about 2' or so from the width. This is what i was thinking1. getting a big square rug (about 8x8)2. getting a rectangle rug (either 5'x8' or 8'x11')Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks for your input!
The rug has to be large enough when someone is seated in a chair at the table, the chair is still on the rug. You usually figure 1 ft. extra all the way around. Home Decorators online has a huge choice of rugs and sizes and styles.
Q: Can regular liquid laundy detergent be used in a carpet cleaning machine?
Nooooooooooo!!! You don't want anything that will make suds!!! Will clog and ruin the machine. Walmart makes a cleaning solutioncosts $12, is twice the size of the Bissell one and is called Pet and Odor Control. Works just as great as Bissell one...I've used it. Another idea: try using a bit of Oxyclean combined with a tiny bit of liquid Febreze (for fragrance). Shake it in the container to make sure it doesn't produce a lot of suds. Another idea: vinegar and baking soda solution mixed together (vinegar to disinfect and clean, same goes for baking soda).Personally, I hate the smell of vinegar (even though the smell dissipates as it dries...but yuck). Do NOT use those spray on foam cleaner solutions on the carpet either. Remember you also have the option of using the hot water rinse (if you have the Pro2X model). Remember not to saturate any area when using....small sections and get moisture out as you go. Then just when carpet is dry...use your vacuum to fluff up the fibers...carpet will come out soft.
