If you walked into your bathroom and your son or daughter was pissing in your sink you mean to tell me you wouldnt spank their asses. P.S If the damage was accidental you may be covered on your house insurance. You may be better advised to buy a new sink, your eyes will always be drawn to the repair when you use the sink. Or can I do something else?: Use liquid drainer and if that doesn't work use a metal coat hanger and make a hook shape at the end that your sticking down the drain, then push it down the drain as far as you can get it twist it and pull it back up.

It might be good to get yourself a beginner plumbers book at Lowe's or Home Depot. If you have too much trouble just go to Lowe's and explain the problem you are having to one of them. Normally they have at least one person there that is fairly knowledgable regarding the subject you ask about.

So, in an apt, if I were you, I would do my best to cover the drain so that steam' can't come up. Then I'd cover it more with a lot of blankets etc, and then I would close the door. I wouldn't re-enter until someone told me it was safe. Maybe you didn't use chemicals, but you share the building and the pipes. So someone did something. Or, its nothing. Better safe than sorry. I'd of course make the maintenance guy check it out ASAP. Make them. Someone I know didn't know better and mixed bleach with PineSol. There certainly was a chemical reaction which could have been worse. Call maintenance and make them come out. And if they give you the runaround, tell them the fire dept would be willing to come and bring their detectors to let you know what it is. (I used to live in an apt where the maintenance was overloaded and everything had to WAIT). Good luck.

Do sinks already have the holes for where the faucet goes? Any info helpful.: You usually buy just the sink. The waste and plug come separate. The brassware (taps) is (are) separate. The only thing you need to decide is how many holes you are having - if you have a mixer tap you need three holes, if a pair of taps (which I assume you mean by faucet - how quaint) you have two holes. If you have wall valves and a filler spout you can opt for no holes at all. If a pop-up waste make sure you get a basin without a chain stay hole. You will get an overflow if it's moulded in - or may need a separate one which will connect to the trap. If the basin mounts to the wall you get brackets with it, or under a counter you usually get all the fittngs to hold it in place.
