Q:how do you clean an acrylic bathroom sink basin?: Easy. Squirt a little body wash or dishwashing detergent, even shampoo on the sides. Partly fill the basin with warm/hot water and wash all over. Using an old toothbrush scrub around the taps. rinse off with hot water, wipe over and let dry. No scratching compounds or bleach needed.

Tom: Install the stopper in the sink. Add one cup of bleach to the sink. Run water, slowly to prevent splashing, and allow the water to run into the overflow hole of the sink. Keep running the water until the bleach smell is gone. Before doing this, make sure your sink has an overflow hole, as some of the newer sinks do not. Many times, the smell is caused by mold or other bacteria in between the sink body. This is where the bleach water will go, and then through the drain piping. It will take care of either odor problem.

Flushing with a garden hose will not cause any problems since the roof vent is merely an extension of the main waste pipe. If you live in an area where freezing occurs, do not put a flat screen over the vent pipe. Condensation will occur and the moisture will freeze and form a seal over the pipe, blocking it.
