Q: would it have dried out?my dad paid for it, and it was fairly pricey compared to the other rugs we normally get, so if it's ruined he's going to go off.. gt;.lt;also, i was wondering if you could rug a wet horse?like if the rug was dry, and the horse was wet from the rain, could you throw the rug on her?or would you have to dry her off first? thanks!
It should be fine. If our rugs get wet and muddy, we lay them on the floor at one end of the barn to dry out and it usually takes a day or two depending on the weight of the rug (lightweight rugs can take about 4-6 hours and heavy/medium weight rugs can take 1-2 days) If you have a dry rug and a wet horse, rug them up. Waiting for the horse to dry can give them a chill. The rug will trap a layer of warm air between it and the horse, helping to insulate (like when the winter coat on unclipped horses and ponies stands up) the horse so she should dry off quite quickly. If the horse is dripping wet, sweat scrape and put a fleece cooler on to dry off as much as possible before rugging up with the turnout rug
Q: Hi, I need help with identifying an old rug. A friend of mine, an Englishman who now resides in Florida, possesses this rug. It is white with white tassels, and a black border around the rug itself. The design is quite intriguing as red, black and white are the only colors used. Repeated motifs are a black circle made into quarters, colored in with red, two rows of three black triangles with red dots on them, three sideways flames with lines around them, and what looks like three chickens or three birds, repeated throughout the rug.. My friend was born in Karachi Pakistan in 1965 and this rug was given to his parents by Pakistani friends at the time of his birth...if anyone knowledgeable can help me I.D. this rug, he and I would thank you. We think it may be a Muslim prayer rug...peace. The birds do not show eyes (an Islamic prohibition!)thanksxxxany knowledgeable, serious help would be appreciated.
I trust India. Hang it at the wall...it is quite beautiful. I do see what you imply approximately no longer utilising it. I do not love to intentionally screw with different folks's icons both. The goddess is aware of it's been performed ample with the traditions and trappings of my possess religion and it quite ticks me off. I might no longer intentionally pass out of my solution to disappointed someone by way of sullying their devout symbols. I believe a little extra appreciate for one an additional's devout practices might pass a protracted solution to treatment probably the most gaping rifts on this enormous historical international of ours.
Q: I acquired a huge area rug from someone who was giving it away, they said I just have to steam clean it. Well the thing smells beyond belief and we've already used a whole bottle of Bissel cleaner solution. Do you think t will come clean if I take it outside tomorrow and spray it off with a hose and some vinegar and let the sun do the rest? I do not want to have to go to the store and buy anymore solution, it's obviously not working so far. Thanks!
How To Clean A Rug
Q: I have a tan/white colored carpet..its a normal carpet, the threads are about ? inches long. One time i used a carpet cleaner (and didnt read the directions) and sprayed the carpet and left it to soak there for a few minutes...now the carpet spot is yellow...Any way to fix the unfixable?other than getting a new carpet..
I personally prefer Woolite SpotShot for those little carpet mishaps. But not sure if that would fix your problem. I have seen Martha Stewart use OxiClean to whiten and remove stains from antique table linens. When doing so, she allows the item to soak in the Oxiclean for as long as 24 hours. I don't think OxiClean would harm your carpet. And at this stage how much harm could it do? I would apply it liberally and reapply from time to time to keep it damp until the stain disappears, up to several hours or even a day. If no cleaner works, is covering the stain with a rug or piece of furniture an option? There might be some way to cut out the stained area and replace with a remnant of unstained carpet, if necessary taking the unstained piece from a closet floor or from under a large piece of furniture. But I don't know how you would secure the patch down. Maybe your carpet supplier could suggest a method or be willing to do it for you. Hope something in that helps you somehow.
Q: My dog peed on the rug in the bathroom, I know urine has ammonia in it, so would it be okay if I used bleach or would that create a deadly toxin. Can anybody help with this.
you could use bleach but that would just stain the rug. if the spot has dried, wet the spot slightly then pour some bicarbonate of soda down.leave for a while (over night or a few hrs) that will draw the smell out. brush the soda of once you've left it for a while. then clean it with a anti bac carpet cleaner and pat dry.if its small enough you could put it in the washing machine. if the smell is still lingering coffee is good for removing smells. put in down dry on dry fabrics leave again for a while then hover off,you might have to do this a few times, but it should work! hope that helps xxxx
Q: whats the difference between the two? i've done latch hooking but im wondering if rug hooking is the same thing or close?
2 differences, first you don't get precut yarn with rug hooking, you use a skein or ball of yarn, starting from the back with your hook on the top, pull the yarn through, making a continuous line. 2nd the hook in rug hooking does not have the latch over the hooky part. I did quite a few latch hook projects and tons of fun. I just recently learned rug hooking while on vacation. At first it is a little harder, getting a even tension and so that the pile of yarn on the top is all even and not splitting the yarn. What I like better about rug hooking is not dealing with all those precut pieces of yarn. Experience: beginning hooker er um rug hooker
Q: My cat has a bad hairball problem, and whenever the seasons change she'll have barfing episodes almost every day for weeks. Okay here's the part that really boggles my mind:Our house is all hardwood floor, with linoleum in the kitchen and the bathrooms. We have a few throw rugs here and there. Now, out of all the places to puke, she ALWAYS chooses to puke on one of the various throw rugs in the house. One time I saw her retching and I picked her up and put her on the linoleum and she ran back to the throw rug and hurled, refusing to barf on bare floor. I really wish she would barf on the hardwood or the linoleum because then I could just quickly wipe it up instead of having to pre-treat and wash the rugs all the time. Does anyone know why cats prefer puking on carpet vs. bare floor surfaces?
Because cats are smart and lay around on nice soft cushy carpets and unlike mans best friend they don't like cold hard floors. So when they're ready to throw that hairball out, they do it on the nice cushy spot that they're already on.
Q: does anyone know how to do this? my friend boils fabuloso and dips her mop and scrubs. any other suggestions?
HIRE A CARPET CLEANER... SHE CAN'T POSSIBLY BE GETTING ALL THE RESIDUE OUT OF THE CARPET. WHICH CAN ACTUALLY MAKE IT SOIL FASTER.
Q: I have talked to 4 companies about re-carpeting our home and all they can do is dog on other companies and say how they are the best. They all give contradicting advice. One guy said, quot;Stainmaster is just branding, use our r2x, it's better and cheaper.quot; One guy said quot;R2x, stain master... all a scam. All carpet is stain resistant these days.quot; And another guy said, quot;Stainmaster is the best!quot; We want a plush carpet that is stain resistant (we have a small dog). I don't care about having the best as I am carpeting my first home and won't be here forever. I also cannot find objective reviews on carpet brands. Why is this? I am starting to realize that the carpet industry is a very competitive business and how do I know that I am getting a quality product.
Stain Master is just a name. You pay a bit more for Stain Master because they advertise on T V .Almost all stain blockers are the same. They cover the same types of stains and you treat them the same. Like any product ,carpet is a competitive market so you will get competition. What you have to do is compare carpets from one place to another. Compare warranties, the weight of the carpet and the wear warranties. Once you compare apples to apples only you can get a fair judgment. Compare installation costs, is furniture moving and rip out of the old included? See in the installers are certified. This may cost a bit more but worth it. Non certified installers can some times void warranties. Not all carpets have stain blockers , most do but not all. Take all warranties with a grain of salt. This is always based on a pro rated system. Carpets will lose a bit every year. I myself preferred Mohawk. They stood behind their product, Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q: My dog has now peed on the entire futon. If I rent a a rug doctor (from local grocery store) will it work on a futon? The futon is only about 4inches thick. I'm wondering if the rug doctor will be able to suck up the water it jets out, or if it will just make the futon wet?
Having used a Rug Doctor many times, I seriously doubt that it would do any good in your situation. Yes, it does have good suction power for carpets, but even then, it requires time for the underlayment (usually foam padding) to dry, also. I wish I had a good answer for you. The responder that suggested you get the attachments, may be the best answer, just trying to suck the water out may be all you can do. Good luck...
