- Q: i need to know which wire is which in a 1999 dodge stratus for the cars stereo
- its usually pretty easy if you look online just goodle it red is usually constant power yellow is usually switched power black is usually ground blue is usually for the rem wire the rest are speaker wires or are not used good luck
- Q: Like I hear people say If you have good Wires you will have good bass. What is good wiring. What is the best wires I can get. Help me I'm new at this. Post some links or Something. 5 stars for best. Thanks!
- that sounds like a quote you'd only hear a sales person say. Power wire, ground wire, speaker wire -- just needs to be adequate gauge. Some of the lower price brands are less than honest. Selling wire that's claimed to be 4 gauge, but closer to 6. The higher price stuff generally just uses smaller individual strands making the wire very flexible. That could be helpful, or make no difference at all. RCA's -- the myths abound. Monster cable (and several others) would like you to think you need to spend $100+ on signal cables to get high quality sound. Not true at all. The $5 cables at walmart will transfer signal as well as the $50 ones. The biggest difference is durability. The higher price cables will have higher quality ends and SHOULD last longer especially when they're plugged in and unplugged often.
- Q: I removed a dishwasher and now the wires are exposed. I turned off the circuit to that outlet. I am planning on waiting a while to replace the dishwasher. I want to turn the circuit back on so I can use the other outlets, but don't want to leave the wires exposed. Any ideas?
- N.E.C. code requires the wires to be placed in a box with a blank plate. use wire-nuts or black tape on the wires
- Q: I have a ceiling fixture outlet which has 4 wires coming out (red, black, white and uninsulated ground). There is only one light switch that controls it. I wanted to attach a light fixture to connect to that, but the light fixture only has 3 wires (red, white and green - ground). How do I connect this light fixture to the 4 wires?
- Without seeing the ceiling fixture box and wiring myself, i might be hesitant to propose you as to what the extra wires are for. I count on that you mean the field on the ceiling has these wires in them, no longer the ceiling fixture that you simply purchased, seeing that that may have had a wiring diagram that explains what the wires would be for. If I had to bet, i'd say that the field includes three wires due to the fact that it is going to have had a ceiling fan that operated on a different swap than the light, or perhaps the light may also be managed from two special switches on one of a kind facets of the room, or might be both of these. Do you will have an AC voltage tester to see which wires are scorching (are living) and which are not? I hate to propose this, however by and large your great guess is to comply with the wires back to their source to look what they are for. Do you will have a false ceiling that you could open up? Do the wires go into the attic or crawlspace where you could seem at them while not having to tear open the gypsum board or plaster ceiling? You could just put all of the whites together and all the blacks collectively, and make sure the grounds are in position, hoping they've a motive. However now not understanding what they are there for is a good way to intent an electrical fireplace. And i am sure doing that might now not be accredited with the aid of your regional electrical building codes.
- Q: Also what are FORD RACING 9MM SPARK PLUG WIRES i would be putting these on my Bronco....what do they do....do i need them?
- Spark plug wires. The Ford 9mm wires are bigger then the normal 7mm ( I think ) wires. And when you have bigger then normal wires, the wire separaters that hold the wires on the valve covers need to also be bigger, hence the wire looms. No, you don't need the larger wires until you add to the ignition system and increase it's electrical capacity. But they do look better. Probably can get regular size wires in the Ford blue, too.
- Q: What is a tubeless wire and how does it work?
- It is a wire without a tube. It works properly, it has a larger section than the usual wires, but is cheaper (Al is cheaper than Cu).
- Q: I got a ventilation fan for the bathroom. The fan has 2 wires and there are 2 wires sticking out of the wall. How do I know which wire connects to which wire? What would happen if I connect the wrong wires?
- The fan will run no matter which way the wires are connected. The AC that is going to run the fan has no specific polarity like DC does. The only question would be safety. See if there's a green screw anywhere on a metal part of the fan. If there is, you should run a ground wire to it. There might not be, and in that case, because the fan only has 2 wires, it must be double insulated and will pose no shock hazard. You've probably seen electric drills with no ground wire. These are double insulated and are safe to use without a ground wire.
