- Q:yamazuki wire colors for a universal ignition switch
- On the universal ones they are usually red, green and black, green is earth, red is live and black goes to the one that's left over :p Use a simple pound shop tester to check what's what on the bike or get some wire and a bulb and make one, connect one end of the tester to the posative ( + ) of the battery and then touch the tester to the ignition wires on the bike to find the earth it should light up then swap to negative ( - ) to find the live and then the one left goes to black ( the black wire should cone live when the key is turned on if I remember correctly ) That's what I did on my hongdou... Chinese bike so wasn't colour quadanated
- Q:I bought a bathroom fan timer and tried to install it. It has four wires and the wall switch circuit has only 3 wires. What do I do?
- Yes, but don't listen to these other answers (scary, lol). The bare copper wire is always the ground wire and it is usually a green wire on the switch (timer), so connect those together. There will be 2 wires in the electrical box (probably both black, but one might be white depending on how it was wired), either way they are both black wires and if you touched them together the fan would turn on. One of them will be a constant power from the panel and the other will go to the fan. Now, you will have to look at the instructions that came with the switch, to see which of the 3 wires goes to the fan and which 2 wires get hooked to constant power. You will have to determine which of the 2 wires in the box is constant power and if you have a tester it's easy, if not you have to touch the wire (I'm kidding). Electrical is quite simple, you just have to do it systematically one wire at a time. I hope I didn't confuse you, but the reason I explained all of this is it's the only way because of different circumstances. Also, if you don't have a tester and there is one black wire and one white wire in the box (not counting the white wires connected together with a marette) then the black wire is the constant power and the white goes to the fan.
- Q:I bought this ceiling lamp, and there are 4 wires coming out of it. One white and one black (positive and negative), a bare copper wire for grounding, but there's also a yellow striped green wire. I was wondering what's the latter one for ?In my ceiling I have the black, white and bare copper wires.I'm Canadian by the way
- The yellow and green wire is another ground wire. In a house in North America most systems are AC and there is NO positive or negative conductor. The conductors are a ground/bare, white/neutral and any color is a hot wire. The green or yellow green are the exception to the color codes. I suggest you get a book on basic house wiring before you attempt anything besides basic replacement of devices.
- Q:I have looked up wires for this car but the ones that I have looked up tell me i should have different colored wires. These are the wire colors i have:yellowyellow/blackorangepurple/whitewhiteblue/redgreen/blackpink/blackred/blackblue/orangeyellow/redwhite/redgreen/orangePlease Please Please help me!Thanks,Ash
- The wire coloring (wiring diagram) for my friends 1997 Mazda Protege LX was as follows: Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Blue/Red Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Pink/Black Car Radio Ground Wire: Black/Yellow Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Blue/Orange Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Violet/White Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Red Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow/Red Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Orange Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Green/Black Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Green/Orange
- Q:What is the best brand of wire to use for getting power to my amp?
- Monster cable 10 awg
- Q:what size of wire should I use for my 1.5hp aircon, 220volt
- It depends on the amperage draw, it should say on the rating plate. 14/3 for 15 amp, 12/3 for 20 amp, 10/3 for 30 amp, 8/3 for 40 amp and 6/3 for 50 amp and so on.
- Q:True or False?Branch wiring from a 200A - 3 phase 4 wire panelboard.WIRE #PHASES 1 --- PHASE A 2 --- PHASE B 3 --- PHASE C 4 --- NEUTRAL - WHITE WIRE 5 --- PHASE A 6 --- PHASE B 7 --- PHASE C 8 --- NEUTRAL 9 --- GROUNDTOTAL OF 9 WIRES GOING TO SIX (6) 20A 120V CIRCUITS
- Wrong. The panel has the set up so that a 3 phase breaker can be next to each other for example Breakers left side of panel 1= #1 line 3= # 2 line 5 = #3 line Neutral is the large bar on the side were the ground line goes. don't attach a neutral line to a breaker!!!!!! Make sure you buy a 3 phase breaker for equipment with that voltage and phase.
- Q:i have a black, red, and yellow wires in my trunk for a stereo system.i hear about this remote wire being blue (i have a sub/amp that needs a remote wire, ground, and battery) but i dont know which is which and where to put what.please help
- Well, you have 2 options. I used this first method when I installed subs in my cousins car because there was no remote turn on wire on his car. In this case you can run wire directly from the battery to a toggle switch that you can mount on your dash, then run the wire from the toggle to your amp. So the amp only turns on when you slip the switch.(Usually, even if there is a remote turn on I run that to a toggle and then to the amp, so then you can turn your amp on and off whenever you want not just when ever the radio is off or on. Your second option is to use a circuit tester to find a wire that has power when the radio is off has no power but it has power when the radio is on, then you can splice your remote turn on into that.
- Q:I have some salvaged wire from a computer power supply and would like to know it's break-down voltage rating. Most hookup wire is rated at 600 volts but unfortunately, all computer stuff is now made in China. The repair job of a vintage piece of equipment requires wire that can withstand 300 VAC.
- i couldn't tell you without knowing the amperage in those 300vac because amps are what generate the heat but if you wanna know if its high quality or not strip the psu wire and if its silver its good wire if its copper..... use at your own risk
- Q:Also what are FORD RACING 9MM SPARK PLUG WIRES i would be putting these on my Bronco....what do they do....do i need them?
- Spark plug wires. The Ford 9mm wires are bigger then the normal 7mm ( I think ) wires. And when you have bigger then normal wires, the wire separaters that hold the wires on the valve covers need to also be bigger, hence the wire looms. No, you don't need the larger wires until you add to the ignition system and increase it's electrical capacity. But they do look better. Probably can get regular size wires in the Ford blue, too.
