Q: Hello, i am trying to hook up power windows in my truck. the motor has two wires and the switch has 3 wires. i just need the relay. i just need to know what kind of relay i need and how to hook it up. i know i need a reversing relay and that it needs to use the 3 switch wires along with the two motor wires and the two power wires. does anyone know what this relay is called and where i could find it online? thank you.
Hold your horses here as this gets real complicated real fast Motor has two wires one is pos and the other is neg on the down stroke. Reverse applies on the up stroke. Three wires from switch. Center is supply (either ground or 12 v.d.c) Other two are outputs from the supply. (ground is suggested) There are literally 50 different relay types you can use depending on the application. Some are three pin some are four pin and some are five pin. The five pin is the most common type used for power windows. I suggest going to the local junk yard and find a ford F series truck with fuel injection Open hood and look on drivers inner fender well on back side of air filter box. There will be two or three relays under a small plastic cover mounted on slip mounts and if you pull up hard enough they will come off. Cut the wires to these relays as far back towards the dash as you possibly can (to get the most wire possible) You will need two of them per window. These are the commonly sold five pin relays and once you have them then e-mail me through my avatar and I can direct you exactly what wire to what pin to what wire on switch and then to motors.
Q: We added an AC to a preexisting sx 80 furnace and we are having a hard time wiring the new thermostat to the furnace, and the condensor to the furnace. Anyone know how to get a wiring diagram?? thanks

Q: i got this switch with numbers 1 , 2, 3, and 4 on it and 4 wires red, green, and two black. Which wires go to which number?
Well it is defintely a 3 way switch. The fourth (green) wire being the ground. I can't tell you by the numbers, but I can tell you by the screws which wire goes where. If it does not apply to your switch you may need to go get a new one. They are inexpensive. The green, ground wire goes to the screw that is usually attached to the arms ( metal extentions that hold against the sheet rock. Now you need to find the red and black wire that are together. Look inside the box where the wires come in and you should be able to tell if the red and black are in the same sheathing. These are your travelers. The travelers need to go on the two screws that are across from eachother. One goes on the right side and one goes on the left. Does not matter which side. The last black wire, depending on which of the two 3 ways you are at is either your power or your light leg (wire going to your light). This wire goes on the last screw. Hope this was helpful.
Q: I know I am suppose to run the RCA cables and power cables on opposite sides of the car, but which side do I put the speaker wires on, ps I have an amp so I'll be running the wires from my trunk
You can run the speaker wires on either side, or both, it doesn't really matter. Actually, I don't really understand why you would run all your speaker wire on one side, considering your speakers are on both sides... unless you're investing in a half mile of wire! Basically it's pointless because speaker wires don't pick up noise like rca's do.
Q: circuit breakers,equipment,wire,or people
A fuse protects wire from an overload of ampacity, this can prevent fires and it prevents shorts in the system as well. So if you have a short it protects the equipment as well as wire but it can protect people from fires if there is short and a fire. so in essence of your question it protects all of the above in way or another. Some breakers in some cases are protected by a fuse such as in motor or motor controls as well. There are several different type of fuses in the feid today form ow voltage to high voltage fuses and different types too.
Q: So, I purchased a motion sensor light switch to replace the regular switches at my new condo. I have the wires exposed and I've identified the hot wire. My only problem is the hot wire (from inside the wall) is a single thick copper prong, whereas the wire for the motion sensor is split into like 15 different small copper wires.... I don't think the thick, single wire from the wall will work with the twisting wire connectors I purchased.... Am I able to just put the wires together and duct tape them??
You need wire nuts, conical plastic pieces with wire helical cones inside them... which sounds like what you have already. (It is not allowed to crimp solid wire - it weakens the wire.) Wire nuts come in different sizes; you will want the orange ones. To use the wire nut, lay the stranded wire alongside the solid wire, both stripped back about 3/8 inch, give the pair a gentle twist with your fingertips, and twist the wire nut on them until it stops or gets pretty hard to twist. Give a test pull on each wire.
Q: Can anyone give me some info or a website with info on which type of wire carries sound waves best?
Wire does not carry soundwaves, at least not unless the ends of the wire have tin cans on them, and the wire is pulled taut between them! Wires can carry electrical signals which can be used to reproduce the sounds that caused them. This is how sound comes from such as your stereo system's speakers. Maybe that's what you actually mean? If so, copper wires (insulated, of course) are what you want, and if the distance you run the wires is great, the heavier the wire (gauge) the better. If you are transmitting high power to speakers, the wires have to be capable of handling the electrical current involved.
Q: All household socket have two wires.Plese do not mention grounding, the ground would act as de-facto second wire
You don't need any wires at all. It can be done easily with electromagnetic waves. But since it can be done even more easily with two wires, we prefer the two wire method. One wire would be as good as no wires, so that's just a waste. :-)
Q: I just tore my old shed down, that was wired for electrical. though I never used power out there There is size 10 wiring (two wires), running from the house to where my shed was. I then bought a Tough Shed from The Home Depot and put it where my old shed was. While working on wiring my new shed for electricity, I turned power off to the entire house.I am trying to install power to the shed and I spliced the size 10 wires to size 14 (three cable, includes a ground) which I have connect to an electrical outlet in the shed, but once I turn the main power box back on, the circuit that runs power to the shed keeps tripping off. Am I missing something here? Thanks
GET A PRO,...................or atleast someone that knows enough about electricity not to make a death - trap
Q: What fabric is the wire made of? What are the advantages and disadvantages?...
Metal wire fabric is made of polyester cotton, brocade cotton, brocade polyester and cotton wire fabric. The wire content is usually around 5%. Wire fabric refers to the metal by high-tech drawing treatment of metal fiber into the fabric and formed a high-grade fabric,
