Q: I Have a longboard but its not that speedy and i want to know which bearings to buy
They'll be fine as long as you get standard 8mm axles on the trucks. 10mm axles need different size bearings.
Q: just wondering if anyone has changed the front bearings has am gonna attempt it tomorrow has mine has gone i have done the backs before they where easy don't know whats involved in doing the fronts any advice would be grateful thanks
A lot depends on the type of bearing. Generally, you can get the bearing out either with a press, or if you do not have a press or access to a press, you can use a tube or socket of near the right size and push them out with this and the use of a hammer. Before you do this, heat the metal surrounding the bearing to expand the housing to facilitate the extraction of the bearing. Nip into LOWS; go to the plumbers section and purchase gas-blowtorch. This will help heating t he metal surrounding the bearing. DO NOT HEAT THE BEARING ITSELF, okay. Once out, the replacement is simple. Again, heat the metal to help the bearing slip in easier. Use a piece of wood to tap the bearing in with a hammer to tap and seat the new bearing in. Good to go .. Best wishes, Dr Antony (45 years of doing it myself)
Q: I'm thinking about buying an 87 Fiero for $650 but it needs rod bearings... I wanna know if it's worth it to buy it.
Engine would have to come out of the car to replace rod bearings so there would be a fair amount of labor involved in just getting the engine out. Its also unlikely that just the rod bearings are bad, usually if the rod bearings are bad so are the rod journals on the crank and then you have to wonder about the rest of the engine. If you like the car otherwise I would figure on getting a rebuilt engine. Price out a rebuilt engine and then the cost to install it and use that number to decide if you are going to buy the car. If you do get the car take it to a shop and have em pull the motor and have a look at it. If its worth fixing have em fix it if not you are not out anything extra since you would have had to remove the old one to install the rebuilt one anyway.
Q: How long do repacked rear wheel bearings last in a FWD Toyota Rav4?
That is something that should not have to be done for many thousands of mile sunless there is another issue
Q: My husband has a dodge 3500 extended van that he uses for work. He is a floor installer, so he carries carpet, laminate, tile, and his tools in the van daily. We bought the van just over a year ago. He has put just under 40,000 miles on it (it has a totol of 211,000), and he is now on his 3rd set of bearings on the front. The van was upgraded by adding an extra leaf to the suspension on each side by the previous owner. It is a good sturdy van. The body is in almost perfect condition and it runs great, but it seems like we are always having to replace something for the front end. Is this a common problem, or could it be because of how it was modified? Is it that the front end is taking too much of the stess of the road and the load of whatever he's carrying that day? He just replaced the bearings 3 months ago, and now they are going bad again. (and that seems to be the trend, every 3-4 months they go bad)I was just wondering. Thanks
I would suspect poor quality bearings.there suppose to last years if there kept lubricated, and that's usually required every thirty thousand miles.I would check to see if there are a better quality bearings available.
Q: I would like to ask about the difference between needle roller bearings NK and nki,Recently, I encountered a problem, originally wanted to buy NK 40/20 needle roller bearings. But it is later discovered that the label is NKI bearing 35/20 (inner) model, measure and NK 40/20 nominal size, only found nki35/20 needle roller bearings NK 40/20 bearing needle length is shorter a section, the other to look exactly the same.Considering the bearing equipment used in high precision, and the bearing capacity is large, so request, the use of NKI35/20 (inner) bearing replacement prototype No. NK 40/20, it has a bad effect on the accuracy of the equipment, whether this model can be used to replace. Therefore, I always have this doubt, hoping to get answers from professionals,.Thank you for putting it down hereWhat I want to ask is, if you take the NKI 35/20 inner ring off, can you take the place of NK40/20 bearing? If the NKI 35/20 bearing is installed, what impact will it have on the equipment?
Hello, I am a professional sales of bearings, NK40/20 bearings with inner ring called NKI35/20, NKI35/20 went to the inner ring is NK40/20. in the industry just code in different ways, the other the same, the difference is an inner ring with a ring. A thing, of course can be generic, the quality difference is negotiable. As you mentioned inside the needle is not the same, that is for sure, because the internal structure of each of the manufacturers are not the same, sometimes the size of the needles of different lengths is very normal, especially domestic generally not unified. If this bearing higher requirements with the best inlet of the "INA" or "IKO" two brands of domestic use. "FYB" is a German.INA company, now belong to the Schaeffler Group.IKO is Japan's Tom Xun.FYB Corporation is domestic Zhenjiang Feiya bearing company.INA is the ancestor of the needle bearing company, IKO is then introduced INA technology and products Do the products with the INA series, the material will be worse, the accuracy of FYB is similar to the imported INA production line, the needle roller bearing is currently doing the best, although the price is cheaper than Japan, but the quality is not to say, to be roughly the same small Japan.
Q: Both the same size rimes both bmx. But one rims bearing don't work good anymore. How can i put in new ones?
First, the rims are the hoops that hold the tire. The spokes hold the hub to the rim, and the HUB is where the bearings go. There is no way to determine whether the bearings are bad or not unless the hub is torn apart... it may NOT be the bearings. Just go to a bike shop with the WHEEL and ask them to check it out. If it requires a rebuild it will cost less to have them do it than if you were to buy the proper grease, buy the proper bearings, and maybe get it wrong anyway. I can bet it just requires an adjustment.
Q: The serpentine belt in my car came off somehow and I found it in the driveway (this was a few days after it had been replaced) and my dad told me to drive my car to the automotive place without it and if it overheated just to pull over, let it cool, and then keep going. it did overheat and I pulled over, but called AAA and had them tow me, now the guy fixing my car told me my alternator bearings have failed, and that it wasn't like that when he did the belt before. Was this from the drive there? or from something else?
The alternator bearings might be the reason the belt came off in the first place. Or it is a coincidence. Either way, you didn't cause the bearing to go bad, and neither did your mechanic. It just is.
Q: i have a 2003 suzuki ozark 250, and the front wheel bearings are shot. I have the bearings, but before i start, i would like to have an idea of what im doing. Is it anything like replacing wheel bearings on a car? If so, just say its like that and i should be good to go. i've looked all over the internet for instructions, but i cannot find any. Ive changed car wheel bearings before, so if its anything like that, then say so. If not, post a link or description on how to do it. thanks
is almost the same, the only diff is how the wheel is opened up,,, i believe they seal the bearings so you will haft to press them out i think,, if not then then its the same,,, ive only came across 2 types of 4wheelers that had to do that,, they were polarius models that floated on the water,,, now lookin at yours its the same as a car,,, after removing the wheel you take off the spindle ( for a car its called a rotor) then pick out the bearing clean out the grease add new grease, and pack the bearings with grease befor you put it in,, the more grease the better lol
Q: I went to a Kal-tire and the service technician told me I needed new front wheel bearings. I asked him to do the part look up and told me it was a sealed assembly part with the hub and it would cost 714 dollars for both Hubs. Does this seem valid? I looked up on some parts websites and I was able to buy just the wheel bearings and this was a lot cheaper. any opinions?
does that include the labor too ?
