- Q: ok. i got a new pack of bones reds and new wheels. i dont know how to put the bearings in properly though. if I push them in all the way to where the axel goes throgh the wheel there is a good 3mm gap between the bearing and the edge of the wheel, which i'm assuming would make it difficult to get the bearings off. should the bearings go in like that or should they only go to the edge of the wheels? thanks
- Put lube around the sides then put it in the side of the wheel. To put it in all the way just use the axle of the truck to push it in.
- Q: wats the difference between abec 7 and abec 3 bearings?
- dude dont listen to these guys abec doesn't depends on the size of the number. all abec run the same. most skateboard bearings are abec 5 so i would stick with reds if your price range is low or swiss / ceramics(bones) if you have a higher budget.
- Q: How to lube main bearings on a ipso washer mod #ihfo55?
- don't have the book google it and use the right MOdel number
- Q: Can someone tell me what are the best type and brands of skateboard bearings.
- What size shoe are you? This can be a big factor in choosing the right board. I'm a (UK) size 12, and therefore my perfect board size is 8. I'd say 7.5 is ideal for beginners. It's all I used to skate, and eventually you will outgrow it as your tricks get higher and more technical. You will know when it's time for a 7.6 because you'll go throw a stage of snapping lots of 7.5s. They are great for flip tricks, and the basics so yeah. For risers, go Independent. They're perfect. For bearings I'd say Bones reds. Bearings have an 'Abec' rating- that is how fast they spin. Beginners should get no more than an Abec 3, which is what Bones reds are. Many kids seem to think the higher the Abec, the better they will skate. It's not the case. If you're unconfident, Abec 7s will cause you lots of injuries. I've had my Reds 2.5 years and they still zoom. From your truck list definately go for Destructo. Steer clear of Royal and Independent, they are very prone to Kingpin snaps. Other good choices are Venture and Thunder. Your first deck is something which really comes down to personal preference. Some people may recommend 'Flip'- I listened to someone who told me that and snapped mine the day I got it on a fakie heelflip. I thought it may have been a bad model, so had another Flip about a year later, and snapped it on a hardflip within a week. But hey, others have lasted them months. As a beginner, your first board should last you a while, so I'd say go for a Blind 9 lives deck. They have 9 pieces of ply wood instead of 7, and mine lasted so long that it was too small to skate. Hope that helped, and enjoy yourself!
- Q: when do i change my front wheel bearings on my f250 ford truck it's a 01.?
- you change them when they start to go bad. if they are,t bad then leave them be.
- Q: This is a mid-1970's Schwinn. Obviously, if there is grit or dirt or rust I will clean them. My instinct is to use 3 in 1 oil if I must, then repack everything in good old reliable bicycle grease. But if there is just old grease without anything gritty, do I even need to clean the bearings etc., and if so, what cleaning agent do I use?
- brake cleen works the best. teflon bike grease is best but automotive wheel bearing grease works good too. i would just replace ball bearings regardless of how old they may be. yes clean out old grease.
- Q: I'm shopping for a new fishing reel for this spring. I noticed that all of the spinning reels tell how many bearings they have. Is it better to have less or more bearings, and what purpose do they serve, what advantage do they give you?
- In reference to bearings, most of the time more is better, like exert above said. Bearings make the reel smoother but you also need to still buy a quality reel because no amount of bearings will accommodate a reel if they are of poor quality. Check on the reel's specs and see if they claim to be sealed or water-proof bearings. I have some low-end reels that have 6 and 8 bearings but the first time I used them in a hard rain they became hard to operate. And when I tried to clean them after wards they were just never the same. A good rule of thumb in reference to buying fishing equipment is to buy the best you can afford. Spend the money on a good reel, a quality rod, name brand line, and a few lures to start with. Then you can start to purchase more terminal tackle (lures, hooks, weights, etc.) when you are able. Anyone at a reputable tackle store will be glad to help you and if they won't , then email me back and I certainly will.
- Q: examples.
- Axle wheels on PWC trailer.
- Q: what can i use 2 clean longboard/skateboard bearings besides acetone?
- i have reds on my board and i just put them in gasoline and leave them there for like 20 minutes after that i spin them around a bunch to get the dirt out. i have never lubed them and they work great but it's all up to you. try different things and see what works best.
- Q: So my wheels used to spinn for 1 minute and a half...now if only spinns for 20-30 sec due to the rust...is it worth switching to bones reds? Will it make them spin for more than 20-30 sec?Thank You
- The guy above me has no clue what he's talking about. Bones RED are called RED because they are made in china. Bones SWISS are made in Switzerland. No such thing as a Bones Red Swiss. Bones Red are good bearings - pretty fast, about $15. Bones swiss are far better - mega fast around $40. If your bearings are rusty - toss them. Always keep those bad boys dry and clean. Remember - new bearings are packed with a thick grease which makes new bearings seem slower and quiet. There is a break in period, depending on how much you skate. By using them, the grease will break down, seep into the metal, and become faster. Just put in new bearings, find a good hill - bomb it, and you'll be ace. Skate hard.
