Q: can they be quiet? I was thinking about buying one sense we seem to have an outage every winter. Just wouldn't want to have an extremely loud generator running disturbing the neighbors: It depends on the model you buy and typically the more expensive models will equip themselves with a better muffler. (Basically each model will describe their decibel rating). I find most generators will provide about as much noise as a lawn mower. So, it is great to run during the day, but you might consider not running them during the night. I also think a diesel motor is just fine to run as a generator- I find the diesel rigs will run at lower RPMS, and last longer. If you are pluging this thing into your home, dont forget to have a professionally installed transfer switch to avoid electricuting the lineman, otherwise you will need to run extension cords to what you want powered.

Q: about diesel generator: Just as you said, in air cooled, air is passed over the engine usually by a fan. In a water cooled engine water is piped through the engine. In boats there can be raw water cooled or an enclosed system that recycles the water, cooled by a fan. In the raw water the water is drawn in goes through the engine and is mixed with the exhaust and pumped out the stern. Diesel generators generally have a radiator system. There are dual systems that have both.

And the parts (at a high level, as there are thousands of parts total) are a diesel engine, plus fuel tank. an electric generator or alternator and electronic and mechanical controls to adjust the engine and generator so that it outputs the required voltage and frequency as the load changes.

Q: i can not figure out that why the hiring department selected someone without any interview!!! and one thing i would like to let you know that,my supervisor rejected my RFI at first without giving a look on it giving the reason that lack of three years experience, even having around ten years experience. that means the hiring has made through favoritism or through recommendation.but i am a fool working in CSA for these 22 months hoping to get my professional job,first of all the CSA cheated me while recruiting from India, telling me that i am coming here as a Utility technician(diesel generator mech), but gave me the position Supply Associate, promising to give my professional position within three months,but i got the position Mechanic Associate after sixteen months, but the work is water washing (in Wash Rack). anyhow please let me get the proper person's contacts. so that i may not loose my precious life time and skills like this.looking forward to hear from you soon: I work for CSA as well, first off are you western or TCN?
