Q: For simplification, I am adding 3 20amp new outlets (OUTLET A, OUTLET B, OUTLET C)Anything below sound wrongAll Hot(Black wires) go on brass screws (Right Side of outlet)All Neutral(White wires) go on silver screws (Left Side of outlet)Romex Hot Neutral Path.Electric Panel to top screws on Outlet ABottom screws on Outlet A to top screws on Outlet BBottom screws on Outlet B to top screws on Outlet CBottom screws on Outlet C empty.Internal OutletsI am using blue pvc single gang boxes so for the ground add ground pigtails to the ground screw on the outlet and twist pigtail, incoming and outgling ground together with green twistcap. For Exterior Outlets I am using metal boxes. Should I pigtail the ground to the ground screw on the metal box or to the ground screw on the outlet?Any problems, suggestions, etc?thanks
It will work, but you are not really supposed to wire the receptacles that way. You are supposed to pigtail with wire nuts, but everybody does it your way.
Q: I transferred to a new University this fall as an upperclassman and the neighborhood surrounding it isn't exactly nice. It is sort of rough. I have to park in the neighborhood during the day and walk 4 to 5 blocks to school *usually* and the first week I was there I noticed a pair of white sneakers with a blue stripe thrown over an electrical wire at an intersection, like an exclamation point. A few weeks later, there is another pair of sneakers, white with a RED stripe. My imagination has been running absolutely wild about this.A friend mentioned that this might be gang related. In memorial of someone who died or as a declaration of territory. Thoughts or facts?
Shoes on a line are typically used to mark a gang's territorial boundaries. This intersection is likely the newest turf up for grabs. There are better, less obvious ways to identify important buildings, chiefly by word of mouth among members in most gangs.
Q: Is in a meter, with a plug of the same things, and then passed in and out of the network signal, you can access the Internet, and this thing called what name, probably how far to pass, the new number will not be cut? Question added: the middle is not empty, about 200 meters distance, what to use? More
Therefore, the inverter in the installation of the use of the control circuit must take anti-jamming measures
Q: The socket has yellow and blue gray three colors, which is the line of fire? Which is the zero line? Which is the ground?
It is a normal phenomenon This is a leakage phenomenon, not the case of ground, high-power metal shell electrical leakage phenomenon will be MacBookPro standard is a three charging plug, a two-pin plug, a triangular plug, a triangular plug The extension of the line with the two feet will be inserted into the phenomenon of leakage with triangular plug There may also be leakage phenomenon, because: 1
Q: I remember places used to sell a box that you would plug into an electrical outlet that you would also plug your cable tv into. Then you would put another box somewhere in your house and it would in essence allow you to add an extra cable jack in the house wherever you wantedI can't remember what this is called. I know it existed because a few times I contemplated buying one. I'm interested in finding one now. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.
Can't be done. Boxes have been built which can push telephone signals through house wiring, but that only requires 4 kHz bandwidth. Cable television requires 700 MHz, and the noise on power lines makes this impractical.
Q: i had to remove a couple of light fixtures for some drywall repair i was doing. the fixture was hooked up to a hot-neutral aluminum wiring AND a hot neutral copper wire. i think the other fixture had same wiring. have these fixtures been pig tailed? if not, what should it look like? thanx!
The only way to connect copper to aluminum and limit the possibility of fire is to use split nuts which can be bought at an electrical supply store. While you are in the store, get some anti-oxidant. The main problem with a split nut is that they will be large and you will have at least two of them per box and most boxes are too small for this. Wire nuts are not the thing to use. There is a method that is approved for this, but the electricians have to be specially trained and that cost a lot of money, so they avoid it. They have to rent the tool to do it from the manufacturer and they want something like $8000 as a deposit to rent it, so an electrician who can do it will be expensive.
Q: 30 days ago, I purchased a 120hz Flat Screen TV. It was working just fine until about 4 days ago. Remote stopped working so I changed batteries, but that didn't help. So I moved TV into another room, it went back to normal. I moved another working flat screen into the master bedroom and it started acting up. This has led me to believe that this might be electrical wiring failing. Can anyone help me?ThanksAdam
the previous answer is inaccurate. What you've is a managed receptacle. there is likely no longer something incorrect that replacing it would fix. search for a swap someplace that appears like it does no longer something. Key the swap some cases even as your receptacle tester is plugged into the suitable one. you ought to be conscious it shows circuit ok then no ability as you key the swap. The black cord is your consistent, the pink your swap-leg. The white is the impartial and the fairway is your grounding conductor. If the receptacle were fed with 2 circuits, like another guy suggested, your impartial will be overloaded and would burn the homestead down. In all honesty, once you ought to ask questions like this, then you actually could no longer be messing with the electric powered wiring. electric powered wonder kills. Your favourite lights and equipment circuits have a 15amp breaker for over-contemporary protection. One 10th of one ampere throughout the time of your coronary heart is sufficient to make it stop.
Q: Why should the wooden pole be burned and buried again?
FireWire: red and yellow green line: blue line: yellow green line: blue line: yellow green FireWire: red, yellow and green can, usually red their own wiring, then we should do in accordance with what you want to repair or check the line or Their own test in the next hand to take a pen to measure the light is dark fire is zero
Q: I have a spot in a room where there used to be track lighting. I'm going to be moving the electrical to the center of the room for a fan. Can I just used wing nuts and add to the existing wiring - will that be ok hidden behind the ceiling sheetrock? I need to add about 8 feet of wire to the center of the room from the current spot.
For safety, all connections must be enclosed in an electrical box. If you have attic access, it's pretty easy.
Q: Hi!Here is my situation. My husband installed a dishwasher for me over a year ago. The dish washer plugs into the same outlet my garbage disposal plugs into. The outlet in under my kitchen sink in the back of the cabinet. This outlet is connected to a switch located right behind my sink on the back splash. This is the problem. In order to use the dish washer, I have to unplug the disposal because the disposal will run the whole time if the switch is on. And so every time I need to use the disposal I have to crawl under the sink to plug it in. (VERY annoying) So I have been waiting for my husband to fix this for over a year and he keeps putting it off. So I want to know how I would go about doing this my self? I need to know what supplies I need, fittings? Basically step by step instructions and a materials list Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance!
Oh, I missed the part about where the switch was. Ron G is right but here is a band aid. Use a 14awg 3 wire SJ or similar cord (should have a black rubber jacket) you can get at Lowes long enough to go from the back of the cabinet to the front plus spare. Put a plug on the end of the cord. Run the cord through a cord grip on a handy box to a switch. Mount the switch under the sink near the door for easy access. Wire the garbage disposal into the new switch. (another cord grip and SJ wire) Mount the switch under the sink near the door for easy access. Plug in the dishwasher and new cord into the outlet at the back of the cabinet. Now you can turn the disposal on and off from under the sink. Or you have it done correctly by an electrician.
