Q: Can you swap out a 1984 Porsche 944 wiring harness with a different car's wiring harness? If which car. Thank you.: You can order a new 944 wiring harness, but it is a lot of work. Much easier is to just get a good manual with a wiring diagram, and replace only the damaged wires, splicing at little as possible, as you go. I assume you just have some heat cracked wires, unless you had a fire or something? You can't take the harness from another car because all the connectors are going to be the wrong type, gender, or location. Especially things like the brainbox harness plug, etc.

Q: voltage regulater wires get hot when bike runs 86 yamaha v max. why do they do this?: If the wire connectors at the regulator are corroded or not making a good connection, that can cause the wires to get hot. On my Kaw, I ended up having to remove the connectors and solder the ends together to keep them from getting hot enough to melt the plastic surrounding the connectors.

Q: Ok, bought this mower at an estate auction for next to nothing. It looks like its never been used. Previous owner ripped out all the wires to the ignition switch so it wouldn't sell I guess. It's the craftsman lt 1500. Model number 247.288812. It has the 17.5hp bs motor in it. Does anyone know the correct way the wires go to the switch? There are 3 red wires so its a bit unlike what im used to. Thanks in advance!: On my sears mower with an electric clutch the switch is wired like this. G terminal is a black wire to ground. B terminal is a red wire to the ammeter. S terminal is a white wire to a safety switch. M terminal has two black wires one to the ignition coil and the other to a safety switch. L teminal is a red wire to the alternator and a red wire to the PTO switch.

Q: I have a 3 wire source I want to connect it to a switch on/off and then make it 2 wire to the light: You probably have a red, white, and black wires first check with a voltage tester the black and whiteor red and white wires to see if you have power between those 2 wire if you dont you cant use it to feed the switch it may have been a 3- way switch. If you have power take the white wire from the light and splice with the white in the three wire and the black from the light goes to one of the screws on the single pole switch and the black or red from the 3 wire goes to the other screw on the switch ,does not make a differnce which goes where and make sure grounds are spliced (bare copper or green wire) A BLACK WIRE IS NEVER A NEUTRAL AND YOU NEVER GET RID OF THE GROUND IF YOU DONT KNOW THE ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS DONT ANSWER THEM YOUR BAD ADVICE COULD KILL SOMEONE

Q: We bought a used 2004 Chevy Venture that is a cargo style van... it only had a radio in it. So we just bought a Sony car stereo with a cd player to install in it. However, we are having trouble locating the correct wiring harness for the 2004 Venture. We've bought two already for GM vehicles that should technically work for the year of our van, but they do not work. One salesman told us we needed a very expensive wiring harness because it controls the airbags and other electrical gadgets (but they didn't sell it at his store... he said to look online). I've looked online and can't find anything. Would we be better hardwiring it OR does anyone have any experience with a situation like this?
