Q: my speaker makes a fuzzy or static noise while the scene has high or low sound. I cut my wire in half because I bought a subwoofer and we didn't get the wires with it. So I cut it. After all I didn't need the wire for the subwoofer. Could my speakers make such noises because of cutting a wire?
Shortening your speaker wire will not cause this problem. In fact, shortening your speaker wires should give you less static since there is less resistance. Most than likely, it's not your speakers causing the static sound, but your amplifier or receiver. You may be looking for a new one soon.
Q: why is neutral wire.explain plz
For current to flow you need a complete circuit. The neutral point of the generator winding at the power station is connected to the ground or earth and the neutral point of the transformer in your local sub-station is connected to earth. Believe it or not this completes the circuit to allow the current to flow since the neutral connection in your house is connected to the local sub-station transformer neutral.
Q: i am trying to wire my aftermarket tailight, and it did not come with the plug in adapter as the original. The three wires coming out of it are glued together in a bell type casing. Pls Help!!
The wire that is hooked to the tail light BODY is the ground wire. One wire goes to the brake light switch and the other one goes to the tail light hot wire. With a test light you can determine where each one is to be hooked to.
Q: does anyone know what wires go on which post on a 1995 chevy lumina 3.1 starter? it was off when i bought the car and im lost. i cant find a straight answer anywhere. a picture of the wiring in question is an instant best answer lol
It doesn't take a medical doctor to know small wire goes on small stud the large wire goes on the larger stud.
Q: siting on a roof and the wire is running into the house, what if you touch it?
Those electrical thick wires were some insulated high grade plastic jacket wire. Electricity is blocked from leaking by the plastic sleeve. I see no danger to touch those plastic wire. They also has a bare copper wire for grounding. It is also safe to touch the ground wire.
Q: I have a 1989 Nissan 240sx. Somehow the fan caught a hold of the wiring harness and tore all the wires. any idea how much it's going to cost?
Buying a wiring harness will be prohibitive, and even transplanting one from a wrecking yard can be expensive. The harness can be repaired by splicing in pieces of wire where wire is missing and splicing together damaged pieces of wire. It is tedious but not particularly time consuming - I spliced in a section of harness after an engine fire in about 2 hours, working slowly.
Q: trying to put in a different radio, and take out the original radio, but don't know which wires are which. i tried doing it myself already, and now when i turn on my headlights, the taillights don't come on? but the turn signals come on and so do the hazards. did i snip a wrong wire or did one come loose?i only cut the wires that were attached to the stock radio.help please!thanks!
I need wiring diagram for map sensor on 96 montecarlo
Q: So I know that the neutral wire is the 'return wire'. But why does my textbook say that it has the potential to have the same amount of electricity as the live wire (if the wiring is faulty)? But essentially, if the wiring is not faulty it is technically safe to touch it, it has 0 volts.Could someone explain this to me?
In the absence of faults, the neutral should be safe. It is normally connected to ground at the supply entry board or at the substation/transformer. In the event that a neutral wire becomes disconnected between an appliance and the supply entry board, it will be at the same potential as the live wire.
Q: Theres a Green Illumination wire from the factory setup, where do I connect that wire too on my aftermarket deck? Also theres a White/Blue wire that I dont know where it connects either?
The green illumination wire controlled the dimming on the factory stereo, but it will only apply if your tuner has the same feature. If it doesn't then just put a crimp cap on it and stow it out of the way. As for the white/blue wire, I'm not sure. If you pick up a wiring diagram, such as found in the Hanes manual, it will give you the breakdown. Not all the wiring in your car needs to be hooked up, just the ones that operate the tuner's functions and audio; if everything works and there's no left over wiring from your tuner's wiring bundle, then you don't need that white/blue wire. Crimp it off and tie it up to the bundle. This should be applicable to your year: Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Blue/Yellow Radio Switched 12V+ Wire: Gray Radio Ground Wire: Brown Radio Illumination Wire: Green Radio Dimmer Wire: N/A Radio Antenna Trigger Wire: N/A Radio Amp Trigger Wire: N/A Front Speakers Size: 4″ Front Speakers Location: Dash Left Front Speaker Wire (+): Pink Left Front Speaker Wire (-): Purple Right Front Speaker Wire (+): Purple Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Light Green Rear Speakers Size: 4″ Rear Speakers Location: Rear Deck Left Rear Speaker Wire (+): Black Left Rear Speaker Wire (-): Yellow Right Rear Speaker Wire (+): Red Right Rear Speaker Wire (-): White
Q: i have a 1995 chevy S10 blazer and i noticed that it has 5? speakers in the door and 6x9 in the back i started looking and i found that it has 4x6 in the dash with cardboard over it but it don't have speaker wire ran for it i think its going to be difficult running wire for it but what gauge of wire should i use? and should i run the speaker wire to the head unit how would i hook the speaker wire to the aftermarket head unit or should i run it to the 6x9 or 5? i already have a pair of 4x6's ready to be installed in it as soon as i find out how to do it and what size of speaker wire it is im going to be doing it by myself
common speaker wire will work fine. as for running new wires to the dash. i have found that if you cut the hook off a metal coathanger and bend one end 6 inches from the end, you can tire the speaker wire to the bend and thread it thru. it just takes a little patience. i would wire them to the door speakers.
