Q: I have a 1996 Cadillac Deville Sedan, and I bought a female wiring harness for it off of the internet. The Factory Wires doesn't include pink, but yet all the wiring codes say pink...the adapter I bought matches up to the Head Unit I want to replace the factory with, but when i put the battery back on and everything it doesn't turn on, I need to know how to wire this thing correctly, and if I bought the wrong adapter or not...Thank You.
do not take heed to the fairway police out the following. relying on what issues your questioning about, eliminating it ought to or may no longer reason issues. in case your anxious about your automobile magically blowing up, it WONT! you'll unlock a touch of airflow contained in the exhaust and also you'll have more advantageous skill. the automobile will also sound only a touch louder. in case you've already got loud mufflers like glasspacks it will be too loud on your style. Your verify engine gentle will sometimes turn on and rancid purely because your pc realizes that somethings lacking from the O2 sensor readings. As for gas economic gadget, anticipate little or no change. possibly a moderate progression because the exhaust flows more advantageous ideal without the reduce. Thats it! A cat isn't an mandatory gadget to the operation of your automobile. Its a downside to it. in case your anxious about the legality of it, its unlawful. yet purely how may you get stuck? possibly if its obnoxiously loud, you will get pulled over. in case you stay in a community that does emissions finding out and/or seen inspection to get your tags, your going to might want to positioned it again on once you pick to get those checks carried out. To the different answerers, if the asker became worried about environmentally conciousness they does no longer have requested this contained in the first position. thanks. I have a Mustang GT i have been using without cats for over a year. a lot more advantageous skill, sounds good, and totally reversible even as i pick to resume my tags.
Q: How is the line differ from a neutral and ground wires in a three prong plug?
In your standard outlet, (NEMA 1-15 or 5-20 receptalce/plug): The 'Line' is the smaller slot/prog The 'Neutral' is the large slot/prong The ground is the 'pin'/prong.
Q: im installing a JVC raido in my 1990 nissan maxima and cant figure out how to properly conect the wires
yellow-is accessory (+positive) red-is constant power (+positive) black-ground (-negative) blue-is accessory for the amp (+) green, purple, white, grey are all for the speakers
Q: what gauge wires should i use for my 12'' alpine typr r SWR-1242D?
For the speaker wire going from the amp to the speaker? Try to stay above 16 gauge, I use 12 gauge as over-kill. It costs like 12 cents more per foot and is completely worth it. For the power wire going from the battery to the amp? Use no thinner than 4 gauge power and ground wire assuming your only pushing a single Type-R. Good Luck!
Q: I am hooking up a subwoofer in my 01' civic and i cant figure out where the remote wire from the amp connects to in the back of my new headunit. Do i need a wiring harness? any help would be appreciated thanks
The remote wire is almost always the blue one. If it is an aftermarket deck that has never had a amp installed, the remote wire shouldn't be connected to anything and should always be blue. If your using a stock headunit it may not even have one, the best thing u can do is connect the remote from your amp to something that will only work after the ignition is turned on, if your not sure wat wire is doing what, to test them simply join both power wires from your deck together (the red and yellow wires), and connect the ground wire (black) to any metal earthed to ur cars body, just touch the joined power wires from your deck to any wires close by with ur ignition turned on until you get power to your headunit, then turn the ignition off if ya lose power to the deck then u can just connect the remote from your amp to that. While checking the wires the worst that can happen is a blown fuse, so just have a spare 10amp fuse or two just in case. I hope that helped ya out. gl.
Q: I have two low voltage wires that run from one side of a building to another. The insulation on both wires is the same color. I eventually just walked an additional wire around the building and checked continuity. Is there an easier way to differentiate between the two wires?
Assuming that the two wires are unconnected at both ends. If it was a long way to walk, I'd probably just have connected one wire to earth (or an earth bonded item like a radiator) at the far end and checked for continuity to earth at the local end. A slightly more esoteric way would be to connect a diode between the wires at the remote end. A d.c. continuity check between the two wires at the local end would allow you to deduce which wire was connected to the anode and which to the cathode. A battery between the wires at the far end and a d.c. voltmeter at the local end would do much the same job in that it would tell you which wire was connected to positive! .
Q: I am trying to replace a GFCI outlet, there are 6 wires -3 White, 2 Black Ground. I have tried to wire it several times and indicator light comes on but it doesn't trip or work when something is plugged in. It's in a box with 2 light switches and I believe feeds down to another switch plug because they are currently not working. As well as my microwave which is on the same circuit. So long story short how do I wire this thing?
interior the back of the container, you will desire to confirm a pair of bare copper wires, connect them to the floor terminal on the opening. additionally, you're able to desire to make useful that the inlet and outlet at the instant are not reversed. the reason you have a 2d black and white is there's a 2d receptacle downstream that's additionally secure by this gfci. by the way, the incoming wires flow to line and the outgoing wires flow to load.
Q: Live wire- bring current to appliancesNeutral wire- returns the current from the applianceMy question is, if we are using AC current, then in the next half cycle, the live wire will return the current from the appliance and the neutral wire will bring current to appliances. Am I right? If I’m right, then both wires have the same function why give them different names? Really appreciate your help.
The live wire pushes the load (or the live wire connects the source to your load) and neutral wire goes from the load to ground (or back to source). So do not think about the alternating nature of AC but how the wires are connected and which one is pushing the load. Another way to think about it is the power flows from the generator to your house, through your panel, into your appliances then back. If you touch the live wire then electricity can flow through you to ground (bypassing the load). But, if you were to grab the neutral wire you will not be shocked because the current takes the path of least resistance, which is through the wire to ground and not through you. So, although the neutral wire can have the same power flow as the live wire you will not get shocked because you are on the other side of the load. Hope that helps you.
Q: I need to get some wire to hook my capacitor to my amp and every wire I see says that it's power/ground cable wire. Does this mean it's power wire? Or ground wire? Or does it mean you can use it for both?
you can use it for both same stuff
Q: u said when i buy a jvc wiring harness one end plugs in the back of cd player and the wires coming out of that connect to the wires in car will they be the same color though? right now there is a harness already on the cd player and the wires are on it and they are pretty long i thought i just wire those wires from it to the ones in car but they diff. colors
Do you have a wiring diagram for your car? In there, they have the color codes for the speakers, dash illumination ( so when you change the lighting on your dash, your radio will change too), power attena, constant power for the clock and presets. If you don't have the diagram, check online for it. If you bought your deck from crutchfield, they include plugs that fit your car so you dont have to cut wires. Good lluck with it.
