Q: cleaning the carpet
If you are going to rent one get the rug doctor, don't buy their cleaning products they are too expensive, use Bissell, be sure to rinse the carpet well with clean water in the shampooer. If you are going to buy a shampooer I would get a Hoover Dual V, they work great and the carpet dries fast.
Q: What do you put between a carpet and a tile floor?
A carpet pad is usually put under a carpet to make it softer, to absorb sound, and to act as additional insulation between the tile floor and the room.
Q: I have a wool rug that I left in my garage for many years. Because of that it has developed a musty smell from the humidity. It doesn't have mildew, just a funky smell. What can I do to get rid of it? Thanks.
You could sprinkle baking soda on it and let that sit for a few hours. Then vacuum as usual.
Q: I was burning a candle and the wax dripped on the carpet HELP
Take a paper towel and iron over it. it will re-wet the wax and it will adhere to the paper towel. Be careful not to melt the carpet though:) Also some say ice is supposed to work but I haven't tried that one.
Q: Ok, i'm 14 and was quot;experimentingquot; with fire in my bedroom, i set a piece of paper alight, and was holding it, when it got to the point where i couldn't hold it any longer, i dropped it and stomped it out, then immediately noticed that the paper had kinda quot;fusedquot; with the carpet to create one big mess on the floor, and not need it gone urgently before my parents see! The carpet itself isn't really burnt i guess...
409 Carpet Cleaner. Don't use bleach.
Q: I have a 95 Chrysler Lebarron Convertible and it's in very good condition but the carpet needs to be replaced. Is this possible?
I would either take it to an auto upholstery shop, or do it myself. JCWhitney has carpets for many cars, check and see if they have one for your car. It should be molded to fit your floor pan. Do not buy a generic, one size fits all kit. The installation is easy if you can remove the front seats and a few trim panels.
Q: I just need to average pricing for carpets. I don't need instalation, just the carpet itself. The carpet I need to match is kind of a cheaply made carpet, my dog tore it up trying to get out of the bedroom.
Carpet runs anywhere from $2 a square yard to $35-up. You need to go to a carpet store and look at samples to get a price. There is a huge store near the square on 41. EDIT - Since you need a small carpet, ask to see their remnant room. You might find just what you need at a fraction of the cost.
Q: Can thread be placed on carpet? ? ?
You'd better not put, in case of leakage, it will cause a fire
Q: I have a rug that will not stay put.I have tried the special stuff that they sell to put under rugs to help keep them from slipping. It didn't work.I have dried this special spray stuff that works kind of like the scrapbook glue that you can you can move about. It makes it like a restickable sticker. The sticky wears off quickly though.I have even tried putting felt on the back. That didn't work either. The floor I have it on it my bathroom floor. The tile in there is cheap. It is like the tile on the school floors. (I live in an apartment so I have no choice in that matter.) Part of the problem is also that my cats play tag and the rug seems to be base.Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep this rug from slipping so much?
If double faced tape does not work, perhaps you should look into getting a larger rug so the edges touch the walls, bathtub, etc., in a stiffer construction. Any place that sells carpet sells double faced tape, which is about three inches across and whatever length the roll comes in from the manufacturer. I have used it on foam backed carpets 12'X20' with no problems, but these were much heavier than what I suspect your throw rug is. Apply in a box pattern then some X patterns.
Q: how to deal with the open side of the woven carpet?
The resilience of the blanket directly affects the comfort of the carpet, the bottom lining is not easy to leak out, the better the flexibility. The greater the density, to see whether the bottom liner comes out. Generally you can fold the carpet back to back in the selection of carpet
