Q: is it easier to vacuum the industrial carpet than regular carpet. I plan to replace my regular carpet with industrail, because it is hard to push the vacuum and we have lots of dust. thanks.
Maybe you just need a self propelled vacuum instead. Granted, old carpets are notoriously dusty as they fall apart.....the backing degrades, etc. If you plan on being in the home for awhile and like the look of industrial, fine, but many prospective homeowners will be put off. The plush home carpet is much preferred. I've had the short pile carpeting in family rooms and liked it for resisting traffic, but didn't find it any better for stain removal. Also it was glued down and the stink was horrible for awhile. Hopefully they have low VOC adhesives now. A lot of water/staining wasn't good as the carpeting couldn't be lifted to dry, hence more prone to mold.....thinking back to when kitchens were carpeted. I fully understand where you are coming from, hallways are my nemesis for wear and dirt/stains. I too have (and continue to) think about industrial just in that area. Maybe you just need a shorter pile, but not as short as industrial. I'd also study up on the different type fibers and their wearability.
Q: It started out as a small black printer ink on the carpet. I tried to use WD40, then Jax, now it looks like a giant orange/light black circle! How can I get rid of this? PLEASE HELP ME!

Q: What if I went to Home Depot and bought a sheet of rubber cut to just a bit less than 8' x 10' and then a piece of felt the same size - glue them together and pop the area rug on top?Would that work?
Hi Blue Eyed Homo, I am a flooring associate that works at The Home Depot, and I know that some rug pads seem to be expensive, especially in your size. I've worked in other departments and been with the company for almost 10 years and I have yet to see a sheet of rubber that will sell in the store other than pan liner for tubs that would work in your situation. Also, you won't find at our store pieces of felt in that size. Plus, felt just won't be able to grip the rug properly especially if you have a hardwood floor. Did you check around your local stores flooring department? I think I may have a less expensive solution for you. Carpet padding, not rug pad, but the kind ppl place under their carpets. It may not look pretty but its made to not be seen anyway and it works great for big area rugs your size. Home Depot sells carpet pad in pre-cut 6ft. by 9ft. rolls or have your flooring associate there cut out a size for you. Bottom line....the carpet pad will be way less expensive than the rug pads we sell, and you'll still have a slip resistant surface for your new area rug for years to come. Hope this helps, aboveaveragejoe
Q: Have you got any good places to get them as my friend has a riding ranch and she had barbed wire on the outside of the paddocks as she was waiting for the fencing to be fitted and 11 out of the 23 rugs have been damaged by the barbed wire she used to get them from a super store but it went out of business, have you got any suggestions for bulk buying ?BQ: what rug type would you suggest for horses in Scottsdale Arizona ? Please give a reason for your answer as I don't know what the weather is like in Scottsdale in winter or summer so please suggest for all seasons ?Thank you very much !
i buy horse rugs from Horseland in Australia and i really like the Weatherbeta rugs cause they are light, waterproof and keep your horse warm and are just a great rug!
Q: i have a old rug its a shaggy type rug that i got when my great grandfather passed away and im not sure what year its from all i know is that its way over 20 years because he had it when i was born, and it was old then. i want to know what i can get to clean it with out it messing it up, right before he passed away he had put it in a box out in his barn and it smells its not really dirty it just smells and i've tried many things and all they do is just cover up the smell for a little while, if anyone know how i could get it cleaned please let me know, thanks
It is dirty and really smells. You need to lay it out on the ground and shampoo the living snot out of it. Rinse it off and do it again. After a few workouts of doing this it will be fine. Unfortunately, when you are done you will ask the question, Why did I do this? Why didn't I just throw this away? This rug sucks and it still smells.
Q: I bought a turquoise accent rug from target and it's bleeding onto my tile. The label says spot clean only but if I put it in the washing machine will all of the color come out? Is there any other way to clean it?
Hmm. I have bought the same type of rug only in a dark blue with the note to spot clean. I had the same thing happen except on linoleum. I didn't really pay much for it so I thought I'd try washing it on a gentle cycle, the materials it was made from was pretty durable (don't know what yours is made of) so I washed alone and added vinegar to the wash (which is said will set the color). I washed mine on a medium load to make sure the water completely covered the rug, add the vinegar to the water as its filling. I poured mine in but if I had to guess I used about 2 cups and don't use detergent. I stopped the cycle and let the rug sit in the solution for about 1/2 hour then continued the wash cycle. I thought it did a good job. I used the vinegar/water wash a few times and noticed that it did help with the bleeding. Good luck whatever you end up doing.
Q: How to clean the paint on the carpet?
Wash with the paint thinner, or if it is water, then boil it with hot water
Q: What color of the carpet looks good with blue floral tile?
White
Q: ok my rug burn scar is peeling by itself and the skin under is white should i be worried....will that leave a scar??
As a rule of thumb, rug burns are too shallow to cause scarring. You will probably have some residual redness in the area after it finishes healing, but that is not a scar, and will go away in a few days when replaced by healthy skin tissue. Even if you do get a scar, it will just be flat and the color will fade in a few weeks and it won't be noticeable. It sounds like yours is almost healed, so there's not all that much you can do. Don't scratch it, don't peel away the skin. If it's very itchy you can moisturize.
Q: can anyone offer some advice on how to get wood stain out of california berber carpet?
What colour is the carpet? When we moved into our house there was a very dark brown stain in the middle of the pink carpet. We'd had the carpets cleaned but it remained. I got some bleach and a pink Chux (I don't know whether you have this product where you are but it is a think cleaning cloth). The bleach removed the stain out of the carpet and the pink from the Chux was transferred to the carpet. You can now not tell at all where the stain was.
