Q:I am going to install some carpeting in my home and I was wondering if 2 pads could be put underneath the carpet roll instead of 1. I know they sell different 'weights' of the pad, but i wanted the thickest possible pad so that it can be very cushy. So, is it possible? I am interested in knowing what is the best option for what I am looking to do. Anyone with carpeting knowledge...
you can not put 2 layers of padding on top of each other. for one thing it will bunch up, and it will also void your warranties from the manufacturer. try looking for a good 8 lb 7/16 inch pad. you really don't want that much bulk under the carpet, it will cause it to pop off the tack strip, thereby losing the stretch. it will also be like trying to run the vaccuum over wet grass. f you are using a berber carpeting, you want to use as firm a pad as possible.
Q:My pets have ruined my carpet. I need to rip it up and replace it, but that is way to expensive right now. I am just looking for a product I can buy at a drugstore, spray on the carpet, and vacuume off. Thank you!!
Sprinkle a couple of boxes of bicarb soda all over the carpets, paying particular attention to heavily stained areas. Leave for as long as you can then vacuum. After that get your carpets professionally cleaned or hire a steamer and do it yourself. Then, before you vacuum do the bicarb soda bit again every time. Voila! Clean smelling carpets!
Q:I spilled some coffee on the carpet and nothing seems to take it out at the moment. Do you have any ideas?
i might exchange the carpet *(merely shrink the stane) And upload a nother carpet piece or merely placed alot of dish cleansing soap and water then scrub. It mayn go away a splash gray stain so which you will what to attempt the 1st suggestion.abode Deopt or Wal Mart Stain Removers do not artwork In much less the stain is astonishing.
Q:I have a espresso colored round table (i think its about 4' or 5' diameter) and it also incleds a leaf to extend the table into an oval shape. I am trying to decide what kind of rug i should get for underneath the table (there is ceramic tile in this area). Its going into the formal living and dining room in the house which is the first you room you enter when you come into the house. The entire room is about 13' wide by 22' long. There will also be a buffet by the table taking off about 2' or so from the width. This is what i was thinking1. getting a big square rug (about 8x8)2. getting a rectangle rug (either 5'x8' or 8'x11')Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks for your input!
1] is buffet on long wall or short wall? How big is actual dining area? 13' x 11'? or smaller? [ also subtract the two feet from buffet space ] 2] rug should be about 2.5 feet wider and longer than the table to allow chairs to move back and forth freely; so you need a rug at least 6.5' or 7.5' by 8' or 9'. depending on table and leaf's actual size. 4] do measure the table and leaf for accuracy before making any purchase. 5] buy some graph paper; cut out table, chair, buffet and rug sizes; and play with pieces for best look. . 6] I would buy one that covers most of area. - so 8' x 11'.
Q:how can i remove a chili stain from my carpet?
Try using Tuff Stuff yellow can you can buy it Walmart. Can also be used for your vehicle, i think that that is the aisle it is located in. I have two toddlers and they are spilling food or drinks in there rooms. Its a white foam that comes out grab a damp cloth a scrub comes right up. I used to work at a dry cleaners and was always told that you should never apply water to a surface to get a stain out first without treating it with a chemical first it makes the stain set in and may not come out, don't know if this is true or not haven't done it. Good Luck hope this works.
Q:Which side of non-slip rug pad goes over wall-to-wall carpet?
opt for browns tans. Your first step is to colour tournament the carpet. you need to tournament the carpet so that you aren't getting browns that conflict with it. as an instance-some colors have a yellow base even as others have a blue base or a red base. in case your carpet is a yellow depending blue, like maximum denims, and also you placed it with a blue depending brown or tan you'd be very uncomfortable (we can't even imagine about the white partitions or your coloring the following because the carpeting is, i'm assuming, untouchable). Take the carpet colour (you need to attempt to get a reliable sized piece like a a million/4 backyard of fabric on your carpet colour tournament yet something can help-even a paint chip) with you once you save for furnature and accesories. fortuitously, till you're colour blind, you'll like the combination of colour, even if it truly is sweet, once you look at it in both keep lighting fixtures and sunlight (deliver it ot the window-heavily) attempt to get some upload-ons interior the same colour because the carpet so it feels like you planned the carpet. opt for easy colour or huge stripes for the better masculine look and step faraway from the football blanket!
Q:Isn't it better to place a CPU on a desk or at least elevate it so that it doesn't touch a carpet or floor? (Even if the carpet is not shag?) I am trying to prove this to my boss but he insists that the computers remain on the rug. Keep in the mind that the computers have 3 intake fans, and a few outtake fans. They are placed in a church/office setting where kids could incidentally kick the computer or something. I also know that when computers are closer to the floor, they take in more dust. Am I not correct, or at least partially correct?
Yes. Laptops certainly. This is because carpets have a very uneven surface, and they are spongy. What happens is the carpet will rest against the air intakes (which are on the bottom) and restrict air flow in. It also picks up a large amount of dust since carpet has a large surface area to trap such particles. If on a hard desk, the feet provide some elevation for air to move freely underneath so the fan can suck it up for cooling. This is desirable, however, computers will work pretty much anywhere.
Q:Which rug should I get?
I like the zigzag one
Q:Hi! Were purchasing new carpet for our mobile home. They sell a pad to for an extra cost. Never bought carpet before. Is the pad something we really need? Thank you
Yes, you need new pad. Think of carpet pad as the foundation for your carpet....the stronger the foundation, the more durable what's above it. The better the pad, the longer your carpet will last. You can put an inexpensive carpet on a good pad, and have the carpet last longer than an expensive carpet on a cheap pad. I usually recommend and 8 pound 7/16 pad, but if money is tight, don't go with anything less than a 6 pound 7/16.
Q:My cat ruined my carpet, and I want to rip it up. Where do I take the carpet ?
If you have curbside garbage pick up, they will take it if you cut the carpet in 4 foot wide sections, rolled up and tied.
