- Q: Is it more affordable to buy your own carpet cleaning equipment and clean your own carpets or is it more affordable to hire someone from a carpet cleaning company?
- We purchased a Carpet Cleaner machine for about $100 and it works great! We decided to buy one because the rental and cleaner you have to buy, adds up! Then you are limited to the amount of time to do it yourself, which is usually cheaper than getting a professional. When we bought ours, we did one room a day until we were done, and we are still using the cleaner in the box! Next time we want or need to clean our carpets, we all ready have it! BUY ONE and do it yourself!!
- Q: I found a bath rug that is the perfect color for my kitchen but I don't know if it matters that it is a bath rug or not. What is the difference? And would it matter if it was in the kitchen?
- The only tme it matters is IF the backing to the rug is latex AND it is going over a vinyl flooring that is light colored. Latex backing will turn the vinyl yellow over time and for some reason, it tends to happen more in the kitchen then in the bathroom. I had a latex backed rug in the bathroom for 10 years, but picked it up and hung it to dry after the last shower of the day. I had the same rug in the kitchen which I picked up and washed whenever it needed it, but it was on the floor continuously for most of the time. The same vinyl was in the kitchen that was in the bathroom and the kitchen vinyl yellowed while the bathroom did not. And, it also happened to several of my renters as well. One of my genuis tenants used a carpet pad underneath the one in the kitchen, she lived there for 6 years and that prevented it from happening to her...

- Bamboo rugs over 8 x 10 just are not available. I have sold rugs for 20 years and they just are not made larger than 8' in the smaller size. Try looking at sisal or similar material. They have the same natural feeling.

- Q: I am looking for the best carpet cleaner for cheap apartment carpeting, that I can use with my steam cleaner, I have asked this question, but I'm getting answers for just applying it to the stain and wiping it away, when accually I want to mix it in with water and use it with the carpet cleaner.The stains consist of dirt, pet stains, and other build up, please if you know of anything that works well, answer.
- I have found that Oxiclean is probably the best solution. If you cant find it in a liquid form, try to dilute some in some HOT water and then adding it to the machine. Good luck.

- Depends really....If it is just water and it was not there for long then the answer is probably yes it can be saved But you will need to move quickly.Obviouly get rid of the standing water as soon as possible and then get some fans going and possibly some sort of heater to speed the drying .Its going to take days to dry out so be patient

- Q: I currently operate a rug store that sells almost all persian rugs in Santa Rosa California (in the San Fransisco bay area). Operation is rather stable but I have two issues.1. I sell high quality rugs and hence the prices are more expensive reflecting the quality. However, many customers can find designs similar to mine on the internet at 1/3 to 1/4 of the price. (internet is 600, mine are 3000). If you put the rugs side by side you can DEFINATELY tell the drastic difference in quality. How should I cope with this?2. I am hoping to think of an idea used to promote the sale of these rugs. Any sort of promotion would be great just to get people to start buying.I have money to spend on ideas.
