Q: Can one be big enough to where you could use just one for a whole floor of a skyscraper?
floor plates are used to access an area under the floor they very in size but they would not cover a whole floor
Q: I am looking at a home from 1939. i know asbestos was used from like the1970's back very often.i want to lay down different flooring in the kitchen, however i do now want to mess with the removal of the crap(asbestos)is there a way to put flooring down without having to get all this professional removal done. and no i don't want to mess with doing it myself either.
Sure, Just cover it with Ply-wood and re-tile over it
Q: I'd like to buy a non-wool floor cover that's heat insulating and soft on barefoot (ie not seagrass). Any suggestions?
my old playgirl magazines are being recycled in the process the neighbourhood. each each so often i pay attention a super whoop from the old woman around the corner. the only you probably did on your birthday fit is a regular hit.
Q: I want to paint my garage floor. I have never parked my car in there. There are some paint spots on the floor when I painted the walls. My questions are: Do I need to prime the garage floor to paint it? I saw something in HD today about etching it, what the heck is that? What would be the suggested way to properly do this? I'm not getting the paint with the colored flakes in it, i would just get regular garage floor paint.
Etching it involves applying a muriatic acid solution on it, letting it fizz a while, then rinsing it and letting it dry. This leaves a dull surface for the paint to bond with. You absolutely need to go by the manufacturer's instructions concerning primer, and you also need to make sure that the coating you apply is compatible with car tires. Not all of them are, some of them will bond to the tires, and as soon as you park a car on the wrong coating, you will have four spots of damaged coating when you back out. Check out car magazines because they almost always have ads for garage coatings.
Q: I live on the second floor and I want replace the carpet with wood or tile. A friend told me if the floor is not leveled, it cost a lot to level it. My question is: Could second floor be unleveled? I thought only first floors could be unleveled.
Second story floors can be and often are out of level. Even more important than levelness, though, is flatness. It is o.k. if your floor slopes a little. If it has dips and humps in it though, these will have to be adressed before new flooring is installed. If you install tile, a cement leveling compound can be used. If wood, the unevenness will need to be fixed structurally. 3/16 difference in a 6' span is the most unevenness allowable. If you have more detailed questions feel free to email.
Q: I pulled up all the carpet in my bedroom, and some areas in the hardwood floor is darker then some other places. What can I do to make the floor bright again?
The best option is to have it refinished. You can do this yourself or have it done. It will be sanded down to bare wood, stained if desired, then 3+ coats of polyurethane will be applied. This will make the floors look like new, and protect them for a long time. Good luck.
Q: Carpet or hardwood floors?
It depends on what you consider better. The wood floors will be scratched by the pets nails and the pets will slip and slide all over the place when they walk and run. It will be easier to clean up the pet hair, but it will also be a pain in the long run as it gets all scratched. Carpet is easier on their paws and your feet. More hair can accumulate, but that's why we have vacuums. In our house we have a combination of tile and carpet as our pets are our buddies and we can't keep them out of certain rooms where their nails might ruin the floor, so for total access that's what we did. But our dog does slide on the tile and has had to learn to walk carefully or slip.
Q: My name is Brittany and I work for my dads business Cleaner Image Marble. I can't help but notice there are so many questions on how to clean your marble floors? I can tell you that if you are lost and you think you have to replace your floor...DON'T!
send them a note requesting more information.
Q: Sorry the question may be a liitle long, but I want to be clear about what I am asking. Is not it that a Flat-floor, rather than a level floor is needed for tile/hardwood installation. A lot of times due to foundation shift, you could not make a level floor, or it would be out of sink with tha adjoining rooms. If I am right:Are there complication with with Tile/Hardwood over a flat, but not a level floor. To flatten out a floor, I am told to use a 6' straight edge and find the gaps. But, if I move this straight edge even a foot to the left, or right of where I started, the gaps under the straight edge would be moving elsewhere, the prior gaps would now be flat with the staight edge.I am all confused. Can you help please.
if your Flores are unlevel and loose you will need to fix it from underneath the house. this is not hard to do but it is hard work crawling around under the house . but a great workout for the abbs
Q: Want to know the floor area and the base line conversion, thank you
If you want accurate data, to personally look at the length of the foot line, each decoration is not the same, there are many places, such as TV wall or wardrobe where is not a baseboard. If you can not take the time can also be the number of floor area can also be, such as 70 square meters floor, with 70 meters on the foot line.
