- Q: i want to get some lounge furniture. is it worth considering fabric furniture... are they harder to look after do they wear quicker and look horrible after a few years... i'm not into putting plastic covers over everything like everybody loves raymond.
- Eww I know what you mean about the plastic. Nasty! We have leather, but to be honest it's got quite scratched, just from daily use. We've had it for a few years. Nothing lasts forever and you will have to replace your furniture every few years anyway, so you might as well get whatever you like. Leather is so expensive and it doesn't really last as long as you might think. I'm getting fabric next time.
- Q: Hi there, I was asked to make a room to look nice but here is the catch: I was given 2 red sofas with black, white, green and dots of orange pattern of lines and rectangles. The walls are light gray and the rest of the furniture is for office realy, and in 2 shades of gray. The tiles on the floor are gray too. - Q: I just moved in a new houseshare and my housemates don't seem very hygienic.The first thing I noticed is that they had kept all the kitchen dishes such as oven dish and cake tins in a cupboard stuffed with the sofa covers, that smell like they have been in there for a very long timeIs it still safe to use all these dishes or could they be tinted with mould?
- I would take all items out of the cupboards and if you have a dish washer use that if not use hot soapy water with a little bleach in it . you need to wash the cupboards out inside as well keep other items out of the kitchen except what you use in there.

- Usually it's a queen size, but not any mattress will do. I should be one made for a sofa sleeper. they bend easier than a normal mattress would and a bit thinner.

- Q: We rescued her from a rescue home (she's 6) and she doesn't like to go on the couch. Whenever we place her on the couch she runs away under my bed. :/ I want her on the couch.
- Maybe the previous owner punished the cat for being on the couch. Leave her alone and maybe she will realize that she is allowed there. My cats wont come into my bedroom any more then a few feet from the door. They panic if I even put them on the bed so I don't do that. If they want something the are fine sitting in the doorway. You can try tempting her with Whiskas Temptations treats. Give her a few in front of the couch and see if she will put her paws on the couch to reach more. Eventually she may jump on the couch. Limit the treats to 15 a day as directed.
- Q: A seam is coming out of mine. The the upholsterer says there isn't enough fabric in it to repair, but if the manufacturer will send fabric, she can make a new one. I've had the sofa three years, the warantee is only for 2. Thanks, Kathleen B
- Ask her if it would be repairable if the fabric of the current cover was fused to something like one of the fusible tricot interfacings. If it's entirely shredded out, this probably won't work, but if there's just a popped seam and not enough seam allowance, it may do the trick. Otherwise, I'd start thinking about what design features you could add to the existing cushions. For instance, what if you added contrast stripes to the edges of the cushion covers? What if she cut down a cushion (to give her enough fabric to sew) and made a contrasting bolster that sat down in the space now left by the cutdown job. Yet another possibility, if the sofa is against a wall, is that you may be able to steal enough fabric fromthe back of the sofa for the cushion, then patch in something toning in the back. Finding matching fabric for something that's a couple of years old is really difficult. Finding matching fabric for something that's been used for a couple of years is even more difficult. So I'd be thinking about goes with not match.
