- Q: Pottery Barn tells me that a sofa that they have with overall dimensions of 80w x 36d x 36h will not fit through my doorway. They say that the diagonal depth of the sofa is 32 and that's what determines whether or not it will fit. However, the sofa has removable back cushions and the actual back of the sofa is 29. Will it fit through the door?
- Furniture stores know what they are talking about with measurements so I would trust them. They also know whether the piece has anything removable that could make it fit and apparently this piece will not. Work with them to find something you like as well that will fit. I worked in high end furniture stores and the biggest issue was getting people to understand what would fit and not. Also be very aware of the pieces size in the room you want it to go in. If could be way too large for the room as well.
- Q: Working with a client that wants to have a custom king size sofa built, I work for an interior design company and our re-upholstery guy cannot order this size from his manufacturer. I have looked almost everywhere on the internet for a king size sleeper sofa insert mechanism that is sold separate from a sofa. We are located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, so something close would be great, but any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
- The standard size of sofa beds is 'single', 'double', and 'queen size'. A few years ago, Castro Convertible's did produce a king size unit, but it turned out to be a flop. The couldn't sell. Not because of bad manufacturing, but because no one wanted king size. And that's the only company that I know of that tried that size. And of course, they manufactured all the parts to their products. No outside manufacturing. And I have a feeling that they must have some king size units laying around collecting plenty of dust. Why don't you contact them. I'm sure that you could buy a complete unit from that at a low low price. Probably cheaper than if you had a supply manufacturer build a king size mechanism from scratch. Just take out the mechanism from the Castro. And bingo, you're in business. Castro Furniture is on the internet. Good Luck.

- I'll okorder . Because there are so many variations of furniture these days, I would almost be sure that there is a slipcover to fit your sofa. My sister and I found one to fit her crazy arm chair so you should be able to as well. I hope this helps you some. :)

- Q: How can I remove candle wax from a microfiber sofa?
- Not sure about microfiber, but I dumped a candle on the carpet one time. Use a brown paper grocery bag(works better than a paper towel or napkin) and iron it with a clothes iron(no steam) over the spot. Might need a few bags depending on the size of the spot. It worked like a charm for me. It did take awhile and had to flip the bag around a bunch but be patient and it should come out.
- Q: I like a sofa from Argos but don't want to buy before I try... do the extra/superstores have the sofas available for you to see?
- I don't know anything about argos sofa's but i have bought their pine bedroom furnature and been very pleased with it. My son bought leather sofa's from DFS and they needed replacing after 13 months because all the seat supports broke. He and his girl friend don't have children so it wasn't abused in any way. I bought a suite direct from a factory 10 years ago and it is good as new, so I suppose you get what you pay for.

- That's gotta be SOME sofa! Why not just sell it and buy new? Call the assorted moving companies and get quotes. That's your best bet. If you wanted to do a little of the work yourself, you could call PODS or CITY TO CITY, but even those crates would be a bit big for what you want.
