Q: Basically I have a 3000watt amp, and I need to buy the right wires. Would I still manage to get the full power out of the amplifier with 1000w speaker wiring kit or do I need to buy a 3000w speaker wiring kit?If so, where is the difference with the higher wattage wiring kits. Thanks

Q: ive heard multiple people talk about a 'final wire'. what is it exactly? Is it the thickest wire possible? Or is it when you havent gotten your wire changed in a while?
my othedontist said something about a final wire saying it was steal and is not as flexible the other wires he said in my next appointment i get them im excited that im almost done to because i had my braces as its about to be 6yrs
Q: im throwing in a radio in my 2002 f-150 and i need the color codes for the truck radio wires
buy a wiring harness for your particular veh. it,s color code. very simple you won,t have to cut your wires. so you can always just put stock radio right back in.
Q: My light switch has three sets of three wires (like conduit).. there are three black wires, three white wires, and three bare wires.. and I don't know how to hook up another light switch because it's near impossible to get three wires around a screw terminal. My boyfriend (works in maintenance) hooked a light switch up (one that you put the wires in a hole and then screw) except for the bare wire where two wires are under the screw terminal and the third is wrapped around the other two bare wires. The lights will stay on but when you turn the switch off, it kicks the breaker.. can anyone tell me why it's doing that? Thank you.
Do you mean you have a lamp or chandelier with three sockets? If that's the case, white and black are positive and negative, and the bare wires are grounds.
Q: I have two low voltage wires that run from one side of a building to another. The insulation on both wires is the same color. I eventually just walked an additional wire around the building and checked continuity. Is there an easier way to differentiate between the two wires?
i think i get what your saying if for example your running 3 black wires (the insulation is black)and each one is for example a line or hot wire i would take different colored tape and color code each one on each end it eliminates having to ring them out RING =continuity
Q: All household socket have two wires.Plese do not mention grounding, the ground would act as de-facto second wire
anyway you need two wires.. that's standard.. and if you can .. evan the ground.. good luck!
Q: My telephone doesn't work. No Dial tone. When I plug the phone into the box outside the phone works so that tells me it is the wiring going into or in the house. The phone repairman put in a new phone box outside because the old one wasn't accessible anymore (we accidentally built a porch over it) when he did that he spliced the wire going from the old box to the new box. The wires that he spliced hang down under the porch. There are 4 wires coming out of each wire, but only two are spliced together. Should the other two be spliced also? I'm thinking maybe they were but my dog has messed with them. The phone service went down all of the sudden and I don't really know anything else to check. Any ideas?
each phone line uses a pair of wires (2 wires) these wires would normally be green/red or blue/white and solid blue for line 1 and if needed yellow/black or orange/white and solid orange for line 2... you did the first step in troubleshooting to know that the trouble resides inside your home... so when you call into your line does the phone ring busy (or go straight to voice mail) or does it just keep ringing.... if it rings busy (or straight to VM) then there is a short on the line... this is possibly a defective phone, a phone that is off the hook, or a bad jack or wire... if the phone just keeps ringing, then there is a broken wire somewhere...... since the old NID is no longer accessible, you may need to run a section of wire from the new NID to one of the existing jacks in your home to back feed the jacks... if you do this i recommend disconnecting the wire that is going from the new NID to the old NID, as if you reverse the polarity you may end up shorting out your line with the new wire...
Q: How do I wire this ceiling fan? There are two house wires coming from ceiling-one white, one black. There are three wires on the fan- one white, one solid black, and one black with a white stripe. There is one light switch in the room that will be operating the fan/light (the fan has a light on it). I wired the white wire to the white wire, the black wire with the white stripe to the black wire, didn't know where to wire the solid black wire to. Now only the light part of the fan works, the fan does not work at all. Where does the solid black wire go? I need both the fan and the light to work.
Simple ------- wire-nut the 2 white wires together then wire-nut the solid black(from the house side)to both the black wire and black wire with white trace together. In many ceiling fans they use a blue wire for the fan light, but it appears they are using the black wire /with white trace for the fan light in this case.
Q: Can we use pilot wire protection to protect overhead line, and which country use this scheme ?
Pilot wire protection can be used anytime anywhere. The question is not where it is used but why, and is it required. Pilot wire protection provides better discrimination of fault location, than, say, an impedance or distance relay. If the zones are too close, pilot wire may be the only feasible solution. .
Q: a difference of 25 feet with 16 gague wire
You are not going to notice any difference at all at the length of 25 feet. If you are going to have 100 feet length then I would advice using a 14 gauge wire. It is not going to have any affect on your amp. Only the speaker resistance will have an affect on your power amplifier. Hope this will help you out.
