- Q: I bought a wiring harness for my 2001 Ford Focus with a non-blaupunkt factory cassette player. The wiring harness doesn't match up exactly. A reviewer online said his didn't match up either, but still worked. The factory wiring has 7 slots and the one I received has 8. What do you think?Factory wiring on the left, the harness I received on the right:Constant Voltage - Constant VoltageGround - NothingIgnition Voltage - Ignition VoltageConstant Voltage - Illumination/DimmerGround, switched - NothingGround - GroundNot Used - Power AntennaNo Slot Here - Remote Turn onIt's mainly the Constant Voltage - Dimmer connection that worries me.And I know I can just hack up the wiring and skip the harness all together, but I'm trying to keep it simple and neat for the next guy/gal (which may be me for all I know). What do you think? Thanks in advance.

- Q: I'm trying to wire a Sony L410X stereo to my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500. I don't want to use a wiring harness, so I'm trying to figure out how to splice the wires together. I don't know how to hook the power wires up correctly. Obviously hooking the speakers up will be easy. I've tried looking at the wiring diagram but it seems like on the stereo system diagram it's positive and negative whereas the truck wiring is not identifying the negative wiring, just 12v+ Constant and 12v+ Switching. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

- Q: I just bought a new JVC CD player well my dad and I are trying to hook it all up, we went to auto zone and got all the parts we need, wiring harness and faceplate kit. We got all the wires stripped and hooked to the right ones except when we plug it in there is no sound CD player works just no sound. There is an extra little clip that has 4 extra wires that need to be hooked up and we KNOW that's what the problem is. If anyone knows where these wires belong please let me know or if you know where i can get a FREE wiring diagram that would be great!! Thank you!!
- you have gotten a leak on your gasoline tank. Do you notice any swimming pools or puddles forming the place the gasoline tank is whilst the vehicle has been parked for a mutually as? Getting a sparkling gasoline tank could be relatively costly. the 2d element is: do you notice that the exhaust colour or composition has replaced? Is there alot of smoke or is it relatively dark? that would desire to point that the aggregate point isn't appropriate: you're the two working too wealthy or lean based on the colour and that would have a huge result on gasoline economic device. if so there's a situation with the gasoline transport device, the injector according to possibility or the chip. time-honored tuneups fairly advance gasoline economic device. ultimately it would desire to be the transmission, if it fairly is not shifted on the splendid time you're able to desire to be working at bigger rpms and burning greater gasoline. you could try that situation your self by observing at what rpm the engine shifts and referencing the information interior the owner's handbook. besides the shown fact that it relatively sounds like it fairly is something to do with the computing device this is fairly costly too. it relatively is recommended to evaluate a various mechanic.
- Q: EL wire, or electroluminescent wire, is a wire which... well glows pretty colors lol. I want to buy some to make a costume, but I have some questions. I have a feeling that it will degrade over time, but how long will it take? Or do they start to degrade immeidately like glow sticks? What is it that causes them to glow, a chemical reaction or something else?
- Electroluminescent okorder ) have wire that lasts far longer. You can expect the shelf life of these wires to be about 4-6 years. At that time, the wire just doesn't stop working, it slowly breaks down the phosphor particles, and the wire will get dimmer over time. The expected working life of EL Wire is about 4-6,000 hours which beats your average glow stick by about 5,992 hours...
- Q: There are two switches – the left is for the fan, the right is for the light. They operate independently. I want to replace the light switch with one that has a motion sensor. There are four sets of bundled wires coming out of the back of the box. Each bundle has a white, a black, and a copper wire. Two black wires come out of each switch. The top wires go into two of the bundles in the back of the box, the bottom wires are connected with each other and with two more black wires coming out of the other two bundles coming out of the back of the box.All the white wires are twisted together with a red cap. All of the copper wires are twisted together with another red cap.My motion sensor has a red, black, green and yellow wire. The directions say the yellow wire is not used, because this is not a 3-way light. Is there a straightforward way to do this?
- Sure is!. You wire it exactly the way the instructions say to. Which is to use the 2 wires on the existing switch. The bare wire on the switch (if present) is the ground and goes to the green. Just like the instructions say. You are apparently letting all those other wires scare you. The motion sensor is nothing more than an automatic switch. It does the same thing the existing switch does, using the exact same wires. Do Not touch any of the existing splices. Look again at the instructions. Take a deep breath and have at. I've been in control cabinets with Hundreds of wires in them. I ignored all but the ones I need to work on. Other wise I would still be there trying to figure it out! (chuckle)
- Q: I just bought a set of performance sparkplug wires for my 2001 Chevy Cavalier. I went to install them and my engine is now misfiring like one of the wires in not connected. I have made sure all of the wires are on tight and in place. The wires did not come numbered so i just put them on according to size. What could be the problem???
- It sounds like you may have installed the wires out of order. On your car the firing order is 1-3-4-2; standing at the front of the car the cylinder count is from passenger side to driver side (#1 is passenger; then 2-3-4.) Make sure your #1 wire is coming off the #1 terminal on the coil pack, then #3 wire on the second terminal, #4 on the third, and #2 wire on the last one. If that doesn't do it, than you may have bad wires. Check with your mechanic.
- Q: electrical wire prices
- everything does to some degree cos of the oil used in production packaging and transportation, and because wire is used in massive quantities in industry the companys selling it would lose out if they didnt increase there costs immediatly.
- Q: Ok, bought this mower at an estate auction for next to nothing. It looks like its never been used. Previous owner ripped out all the wires to the ignition switch so it wouldn't sell I guess. It's the craftsman lt 1500. Model number 247.288812. It has the 17.5hp bs motor in it. Does anyone know the correct way the wires go to the switch? There are 3 red wires so its a bit unlike what im used to. Thanks in advance!
- Being okorder or any Sear's store.
- Q: how to wire a receptacle with 6 wires?
- use 3 wire nuts and 3 jumpers, color to color and then connect the others together. Black wire to the dark screw, white color to the silver screw and the green to the ground connection. If this does not make sense to you contact a local qualified professional electrician to do the work.
- Q: can you use your existing phone line jacks and wire, then convert the jacks to lan to network computers or printers?
- A LAN wire is wider, and used for VoIP and computer network access. A phone wire is what you use for your telephone, dial-up Internet access, and DSL Internet access.
