Q:can you use your existing phone line jacks and wire, then convert the jacks to lan to network computers or printers?
A LAN wire is wider, and used for VoIP and computer network access. A phone wire is what you use for your telephone, dial-up Internet access, and DSL Internet access.
Q:i have a 00 gmc yukon and tried installing my cd deck. i pulled off the original harness from the stock deck radio and now its just all wires (its my first so i didnt know), i connect the alpine deck wires and tried to connect them all together. i had a few figure out, except a small noise coming from my stock tweeters every time i step on the pedal. then my speed odometer sensor was going with the bass of my subs... whats wrong? can someone find me a chart of what color wires supposed to go where? thanks for your help
Hey bro why dont you buy a wiring harness from best buy or OKorder it can cost u like 10 bucks or so and it will be alot easier to connect the head unit. That noise that u are hearing is the ground, that ground that u have is either no good enough or it is loose. Good Luck
Q:What does insulated wire do?How does it differ from regular wire used on breadboards?
Insulated wire is .... insulated. That is, it has a layer of plastic or rubber around it so that there is no exposed metal (except at the ends) and thus minimizes the shock hazard, and also helps prevent accidental shorts between wires. Non insulated wire is bare, it has no insulation, it's just a thin copper bar. You can use either on breadboards, so I don't know what you mean by regular wire. .
Q:it still has the harness but im not sure which wires are what and its a 14 pin connector
are u getting a new radio?'
Q:We bought a used 2004 Chevy Venture that is a cargo style van... it only had a radio in it. So we just bought a Sony car stereo with a cd player to install in it. However, we are having trouble locating the correct wiring harness for the 2004 Venture. We've bought two already for GM vehicles that should technically work for the year of our van, but they do not work. One salesman told us we needed a very expensive wiring harness because it controls the airbags and other electrical gadgets (but they didn't sell it at his store... he said to look online). I've looked online and can't find anything. Would we be better hardwiring it OR does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? Thanks!
You have to remove the trim plate on the front which involves a few other trim panels like the center trim piece to be removed. Then you can access the IPC screws
Q:trying to install aftermarket side mirrors w/turn signals and don't know where to locate the turn signal wires.it's for an 06 chevy cobalt LS automatic. Also is it okay to use electrical tape on the wires themselves after connecting them?
should be pretty simple if you like puzzles. You can trace the signal wire out to the front of the car by using a voltmeter and watching the meter rise each time the signal works. Yes you can use electrical tape on the wires themselves after connecting them.
Q:My renter took apart a timer that was hooked to a ceiling fan because the timer was clicking loudly. Now, I just want to simply install a normal on/off switch in it's place. There are two sets of wires coming into the box. One set has a red, white, and black wire coming from it. The other set has just a white and black wire coming into the box. I'm sure this is relatively simple for someone who has wiring expertise. How do I wire a normal light switch to these wires?!?!
The set of black and white wires are coming from your breaker box (supply). The Black, white and red wires are leading to your ceiling fan (demand). This next part depends on how your fan is wired up. You will want to check first. USUALLY, the red wire controls the fan only, while the black wire supplies power to the light kit, but it could be reversed. This is the part that you want to check. The red wire may also be capped off in the ceiling box and only exists if the user wants separate fan/light control in the future. Assuming that the red wire is capped off: 1.) Turn off the breaker supplying the circuit you are working on. 2.) Use a wire nut to twist the white wires together. 3.) Use a second wire nut to cap off the red wire. 4.) Wrap the black [supply] wire clockwise around the bottom screw on your new switch and tighten.. 5.) Wrap the black [demand] wire clockwise around the top screw on your new switch and tighten. 6.) Attach the new switch to the wall box while carefully tucking the wires in behind the switch. 7.) Install cover plate. 8.) Restore power to the circuit. It IS possible that the person who installed the ceiling fan used the red wire as the hot instead of the black. If this is the case, you can either rewire the ceiling fan's box accordingly (disconnecting the red wire and using the black instead) or substituting red instead of black in the instructions above. The red wire would then connect to the top screw terminal of your switch. If the red is connected to the light kit (if applicable) and the black is connected to the motor (or vise versa), disconnect the light kit and wire it along with the motor.
Q:I have eight speaker wires, I can figure that out on my own. I also have a red/blue stripe, black/red stripe, black/white stripe, and blue. Which ones are the power wires?
I found this online. I can't promise it's 100% correct. best of luck! Q:What are the range specs when testing resistance on your spark plug wires ?
For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/OZ4TL 2 -1 ohms doesn't make sense. Take a better look at your meter, no offense intended. Generally they have positions for different levels of resistance, from 2 ohms to 200k ohms; choosing the right setting will give you a better idea of the right reading, which should be around 2000 ohms. You needn't change them for the heck of it, but it's not a bad idea. The corrosion/rust is normal, it wouldn't cause you any trouble.
Q:One hundred meters of a certain type of wire has a resistance of 7.2 Ω. What is the resistance of 2.5 m of this wire?I figured it would just be a proportion so (7.2 * 2.5) / 100 = 0.18 Ω. Is this the correct approach?
Ya!u r correct. L1=100m R1=7.2ohm.New length,(l2)=2.5m R2=7.2*2.5/100 R2=0.18ohm
