- Q:Is a graphics card power cable needed because not all graphics cards come with one? And if it isn't needed, what is the benefit?
- not all graphic cards need them. But lately the graphic cards are using up quite a bit of power, especially the high-end ones. So if the graphic card has a pci-e power connector. Chances are it will need it. Otherwise your computer might show graphics are there will be error when trying to play games or other graphic intense applications. The same thing is happening to graphic cards, that happen to processor a few years ago. Not that long ago processors could just be powered by the energy coming from the bus line on the motherboard, but that is not true anymore and now we use 4-pin or the new 8 pin axillary power for the processor.
- Q:I have just bought the above SSD product and don't know what connection I need for power, I have a SATA cable but the other long slot doesn't fit any of my power adapters, what do I need?
- You can use splitters.
- Q:I am dead!!! My mom and Dads' Town Country is old, a 1996, but my dad loves it. He keeps it looking new. He will never get rid of it. I am 20y/o and screwed up. I slammed the driver side door and when I tried to roll it up, the back came up. Not the rest. I took the door apart, and there are cables all undone, and I don't know what the hell to do. I don't have a lot of money or time. They will be back in three days. I called the dealer, they said $300.00. I'm toast. Can anyone save me from this death sentence?
- the regulator is broken. the cable broke and came out. it happens all the time. it wasn't because you slammed the door, it was old age. the only thing you can do is replace the regulator. if you were smart enough to get the door panel off you should be able to replace the regulator. its pretty self explanatory. you may be able to get a regulator at a parts store, i'm not sure on this van. the one from the dealer won't be that much if you do it yourself. if you have them do it, its the regulator plus 1.5 hours labor.
- Q:I have a two year old HP Compaq 6710s laptop, and since yesterday, the second I plug in my power cable, my CPU usage goes up from a normal amount to 100% immediately, making my computer really really slow. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Do you think there's something wrong with the cable or the computer?
- i wouldn't of thought that would of been a problem charging, have you tried different sockets around the house ? that's all i can think of at the moment
- Q:if found the reistance then what are the acceptable limits such that replace the cable or repair the cable
- See the document by Megger on how to determine if a cable is good and much more. This is a very good document that covers both static (insulation hipot testing) and TDR fault location methods.
- Q:How should connectors for storage device cables and connectors for power supply be described?
- well the storage device cables are called SCSI (Small Computers System Interface) and those power cables don have any special names,,, The power output from smps comprises of four wires.. +12v -12v +5v and -5v
- Q:The power supply I have has 8 Peripheral cables. I need just a few more than that. Is there a cable splitter I can get? Or what can I do? I have the power, just need the extra connectors.
- capability furnish cables - no situation. USB cable, ensure you employ the comparable style of cable. HDD cable, you need to purchase longer ones, it rather is a extra efficient option than attempting to enhance the single you have. There are some sign themes in case you attempt to enhance the cable.
- Q:Doesn't have to be super powerful, just lifting about 100 pounds, frequently. I've already looked at the normal places, and they are all DC powered (car battery). I suppose it could also be manual.
- Go on-line and look up Northern Tool. They have just about everything including an electric cable winch. Speaking of winches, do you want my ex, she has no power at all.
- Q:I bought a XFX Radeon 6970 and I KNOW it is going to need power cables. I just need to know exactly which ones. Please help
- It needs 150w through the 8 pin connector and 75w through the 6 pin connector, in addition to the 75w it draws through the PCI bus. You can see the connectors in pictures of the card. These are standard connectors on an ATX12V v2.2 power supply, but you will need to make sure the power supply says 2 x 6+2-Pin for PCI Express power connectors. One or two six-pin connectors alone isn't sufficient.
- Q:THE PROBLEM IS THE POWER CABLES HAVE 20 PINS AND THE ENTRANCE OF THE MOTHERBOARD HAS 22! SO HOW DO I HAVE TO CONNECT IT?
- Your motherboard probably has 24pins (ATXv2.0+ spec). Your 20pin supply is an older model. You can purchase a 20pin male to 24pin female connector for about $5. Check online, eg. cyberguys, OKorder, etc.
