- Q: What is the best brand of wire to use for getting power to my amp?
- Monster cable 10 awg
- Q: i am putting in a ceiling fan. there is a black wire and a white wire along with a copper looking wire in the wall. on the fan there is a blue, white, and green. where do i connect this to the wires in the wall? running from a wall switch btw
- connect the fan black wire and the fan blue wire to the house black wire. then connect the white fan wire to the white house wire. connect the short green wire from the fan and fan bracket to the copper wire. the blue is the power wire to the light on the fan. Good luck...
- Q: So earlier my passenger low beam wouldn't turn on. i went and bought a circuit tester and found out a wire located here _-_ lt;=== (the bottom right plug on the socket) that wire wont light up. i bought a socket at the same time, but i dont know how to replace it. and even if i did.. i don't see how that would fix the wire. It's possible the wire is fine. but i cleaned the socket and all that and still nothing.any advice would be great. i really need to drive at night1994 GMC jimmy
- The wire that leads to your socket may be worn or damaged. Find out which wire is not working. Use a meter that has a sharp probe, so you can stab the wire with the probe and see if it is putting out the electricity, up the wire from where you put the socket on. If the wire is not working, but off the part of the wire that is not working and splice in a new piece of wire and attach to the socket. Hopefully this will help you.
- Q: What are the advantages of electric tape over electric wire for a horse?Thank you!!
- Tape is easier to see. Tape is easier to handle, put up and take down. Tape is easier to repair. Tape does not rust. Yup, tape is better.
- Q: Our house ground wire is very long but our live and natural wires are very short. Once there was a surge in our telephone line system and both my Belkin Surge Protectors seemed to have not stopped it. The surge was stopped at my last protector when its sensitive fuse blew (it was a 10 ohm resistor fuse). Is it possible that since the natural wire is shorter than the ground wire the surge wantted to go through my PC and into the natural wire? Or is it just because the 10 ohm resistor fuse was a bit too sensitive or something? (Well it didn't blow up when there was no lightning outside)I'm thinking of making my natural wire longer by extending it so a surge finds the ground wire more attractive, is this advice able?
- Your ground wire should go to your breaker box, then to a ground rod or some other good ground point with a large #6 solid wire. I don't understand why your ground wire should be substantially longer than your neutral or hot wires. Making your neutral wire longer would probably have little effect. You could also have a poor connection in your ground wiring. Maybe some corrosion has accumulated somewhere. A surge protector can't operate correctly without a good ground. It sounds like you should have an electrician check your electrical system. This could save you money in the long run.
- Q: The wire from the pinball machine only has two wires. How do I rewire the machine with a grounded wire and plug?
- Just go to your home cente or electric supply house, and get as long as you need of 16/3 SJO or SJTW cord and a grounded plug, and replace the cord there.
- Q: im gettin a amp and sub for my car and was wondering how would i make a wiring kit for it ... i have basic knolage of wires but thats about it thanks in advance
- the wiring kit is usually: - low gauge cable of certain length (x2) - rca cable of a certain length (x1) - small power connect cable (x1) seeing as these things are already pretty much in their simplest form, I don't see the practicality of making your own wiring kit. just buy one.
- Q: if a wire of initial length, and radius has a measured resistance of 1.0 ohms. the wire is drawn under tensile stress to a new uniform radius of 0.25r. what is the new resistance of the wire?
- assume the volume of the wire is constant cross sectional area = pi*R^2 A1 = PI * r^2 A2= PI * (.25*r)^2 = PI * .0625*(r)^2 = 16* A2 If volume stays constant, Length2 = 16* Length1 since resistance is proportional to length/area R2/R1= L2L1*A1/A2=16*16 = 256 The resistance now 256 times as great
- Q: I have 2 wires that go from the Solenoid to the wiring harness. But i don't know which wires go to where. One of the wires from the Solenoid it the remote switch and the other is the power for my whole interior. There are red, orange and black wires that come from the wiring harness. but i don't know which ones to use.
- Your looking for a drive ,but if you would like to look for a starter try Competition Sales online. They deal with mostly Chevy performance parts. Good luck
- Q: wic iring codes for turner plus three wired to uniden washington cb radio
- I love wiring questions :) do you want to use the PTT? If yes you can assume it is a switch and solder it inline with the lead the other end (after the switch would be connected to the lead end of the 1/4 if you have a pigtail 1/4 then this would be the insulated wire, the ground would simply connect to the uninsulated wire if you are actually using a do it yourself 1/4 plug then the same rules apply only you are soldering to the terminal inside the plug sleeve rather then to bare wires (I always prefer this its cleaner). Please Note: The PTT switch will cause a loud pop when it is engaged and released on a Hi Gain guitar amp and sometimes this can damage the speakers as well as delicate internal components so do this of coarse at your own risk.
