- Q: I am replacing my old electric oven with a new one. The wires on the old oven are the same as the wires on the new oven...white, red, black, and a bare wire. The wires running from the fuse box to the junction box are...white, black, and bare wire. This is 220/240 wiring from the fuse box. The oven does require 220/240. How do I wire the new oven?
- No. Any electrical appliance must be wired to meet, city, state, and local fireplace Deparment codes. By and large, the latter is the strictest. In most instances, this requires an character circuit . As most ovens are 230 Volt, AC, it would require no smaller that 12 guage wire, hooked up in conduit, from the breaker box, to the receptical. The receptical need to be an accepted range receptical. This circuit will have to be linked on the breaker box, to a minimum of a 30 amp, double pole, single throw breaker. A 40 amp breaker could also be required in some states. The applying should be wired, from the terminal block, with an accredited range twine.. Some cities might also require a permit, and /or a licensed electrician. Which you can by and large get the appropriate codes at your regional metropolis administrative center, or the neighborhood fireplace Station. As consistently, when working with electrical circuits, disconnect the vigor on the important breaker, and set up a tag-outlock out device on the breaker box, to avert electricution. - Q: i want technical names of the electrical equipments rheostat, wire wound
- 1.Rheostat is Rheostat. But if you are asking technical name , I would like to state : A potentiometer is a three-terminal resistor with a sliding contact that forms an adjustable voltage divider. If only two terminals are used (one side and the wiper), it acts as a variable resistor or Rheostat. 2.Wire:Cable. A wire is a single, usually cylindrical, elongated string of drawn metal. Wires are used to bear mechanical loads and to carry electricity and telecommunications signals. Standard sizes are determined by various wire gauges. The term wire is also used more loosely to refer to a bundle of such strands, as in 'multistranded wire', which is more correctly termed a wire rope in mechanics, or a cable in electricity. 3.Wound : Do you mean winding?
- Q: I keep thinking that the wire would cut into the bark when the bonsai is growing.I want to wire it now because it is easily manipulative, but I don't want to prevent trunk growth
- Wire it, let it grow a bit. Then, as necessary, undo the wire, then rewire it to fit the new size. An alternative is to append weights, or tie strings to other objects or parts of the plant instead of wiring a whole branch.
- Q: I bought Nexxtech Evolution series 16 gauge 30' wire to be able to bring my rear speakers farther back in my room. I have an Altec Lansing 5.1 speaker system with remote and all the speakers connect to the back of the sub. (front are red wire, center is blue, and rear is gray) they are all have the black wire and the colored wire. The wire I just bought are brown, and have a stripe of gray on the second wire (polarized wires) but the ones I bought are much thicker wire... will it still work to just strip/twist/tape the wires to extend the rear speakers? or did I buy the wrong wire? and also, how do I know which to twist with which? (the ones I bought aren't really that clear on which is which... which end is positive and which is negative).Answer quickly please!
- You are going to strip twist the wires together to make it longer? Just be really careful that the wires don't touch and short, that can blow out the reciever. It would be best to get some heat shrink tubing to cover the wires and then you could use a blow dryer to apply heat. This makes a tight secure connection. I think Radio Shack sells it. As to which wire is - and * you can connect speakers either way and it won't damage them. So why do speakers have red and black connectors? Well to get the best sound they should be in phase. To show what I mean take a flashlight battery and connect it to a speaker. If you connect it one way you'll see the speaker cone push out, reverse the battery and speaker cone will pull in. So what you want is all speakers wired the same way for the best sound.
- Q: the plug only has room for black, red, ground wire.. what do i do with the white wire
- You can't. You need a 4-wire receptacle to use with 4-wire cable. That is the only to wire this circuit to code. You will need to replace the cord on your appliance with a 4-wire as well.
- Q: THERMOSTAT WIRING
- Connect the red wire to the R terminal on the t-stat, connect the white wire to the W terminal, connect the green wire to the G terminal and connect the blue wire to the Y terminal on the t-stat. The B terminal is not used on most thermostats. Unfortunately most manufacturers of thermostat wire do not make 4-wire with a yellow wire and instead make it with a blue wire, that is why they don't match up perfectly. The red wire provides 24v power from the furnace, the white wire controls the call for heat from the t-stat, the green wire controls the fan, and the blue wire/yellow terminal controls the air conditioner.
- Q: Question:What is the point of new wires? Everyone keeps saying thicker wire. What does that thicker wire do? Does it carry a different force? I thought the ligature bands is what gives the wire the force? I'm kind of confused! Also, do you get a thicker wire everytime? Is this thicker wire visibly thicker and noticable?Does the thicker wire cause a drastic diff in pain?Thank you for your help and answering my question about my previous question.
- The wires are memory wires. So over time they move your teeth back to the original U shape the wire was in. The thicker wire corrects your teeth more. You won't always get a thicker wire, but you won't be able to tell just by looking. A thicker wire will hurt more for about three days but then you will get used to it, just like the previous wire they put in.
- Q: Can we use pilot wire protection to protect overhead line, and which country use this scheme ?
- Pilot wire protection can be used anytime anywhere. The question is not where it is used but why, and is it required. Pilot wire protection provides better discrimination of fault location, than, say, an impedance or distance relay. If the zones are too close, pilot wire may be the only feasible solution. .
- Q: Need to wire three ceiling fans in series
- I don't think that's safe because light fittings are not rated to carry that sort of current.
- Q: I'm trying to install an aftermarket radio in my 2005 suzuki forenza, but it isn't working. The display on the radio doesn't even light up. I'm thinking that it is because there are some unused wires on the oem harness. There is no plug on the original harness thanks to a previous owner, so an adapter plug is out of the question, so i just need to know what wires should or should not be connected to what other wires. The ones which have no equivalent on the aftermarket radio are: illumination wire, and dimmer wire. If someone could provide some info, that would be awesome. The radio being installed is a sony cdx-gt57up.
