Q:I have a new light fixture I am trying to install. The electrical box has two sets of black and white wires coming in. Both of the black wires are connected together while the white wires from either set were used to connect the old fixture. How should I wire in the new fixture. The switch for this light has only one set of black and white wires connected to the light switch.: If you don't get it, you need to simply hire a qualified electrician so you don't screw up the fixture. Either that or see if there is a wall switch for the fixture for starters. Most people simply put black tape on the white wire that comes back from the switch because it is hot.

Q:I am making a lamp shade that calls for bonsai wire. How is bonsai wire different from regular wire and what would be a good substitute for it????: Aluminum or copper are the best choices. Avoid iron or steel as they can react with the sap and harm the tree, especially a juniper. bonsai is a copper coated aluminum. Aluminum is more mallable, copper is stronger, with strength you can go thinner, but thin is harder on the tree.

Q:Well I have a mono D and it has - - + + on it and I want to to wire my dvc 4ohm sub to 2 ohms but I'm not sure what terminals I hook the speaker wire up to?: wire okorder /... and than wire it to any of the negatives on the amp its all one channel internally so it really doesn't matter which negative u use. than wire the positive to any positive on the amp.

Q:i am going to be installing a flood light outside, i am running the wire on the outside of the house. i have down some small electrical work light outlets and switches but not sure on running wire. i was looking at lowes at outdoor wire and there are different size gauges. just wondering what size or gauge is best to use for an outdoor flood light?: you will want to run the wiring in pvc conduit or regular conduit if the wiring is going to be exposed. it all your going to run is the outdoor light you could use 14awg wire.

GRADE 10 PHYSICS- importance of live wires neutral wires !!!!!!!!!!: These two wires provide the voltage difference (called potential difference) that is responsible for driving the current through an appliance. Live and neutral are terms most commonly use with mains electrical supply .. they are equivalent to + (live) and - used with batteries and other DC sources. The live wire is at the higher voltage (most dangerous) and the neutral is usually close to ground voltage (0 V). Both wires together form the complete circuit required for the current .. from the supply (through the live wire) to the appliance and back to the supply (through the neutral wire). In a mains circuit a switch is always connected into the live wire so that the high voltage is disconnected from the appliance. A switch connected in the neutral wire prevents the appliance from working (so it appears to be off) because there is a break in the circuit .. but the high voltage is still connected to the appliance which may be dangerous. For the greatest safety a switch should disconnect both live and neutral wires at the same time.

Q:Hi, I'm extending my pc 5.1 sound system stereo cables. I have a M/F extension wire which I will cut to solder a seamless wire to the system. Problem is that in the system cable I have a white, green(or red) and bare wire. and ont he extension I have a black red and white. Which wire do I connect to which?thanks: It doesn't matter as long as you keep it strait, when ever possable connect a white wire to white wire, red wire to red wire etc...if you have like a green wire original but no green extension wire then I would use green electrical tape to color code the extension wire to the same color as the original, you can buy electrical tape in almost any color and wrap it around the wire and connector ends for color coding...

Q:I have 2 wires that go from the Solenoid to the wiring harness. But i don't know which wires go to where. One of the wires from the Solenoid it the remote switch and the other is the power for my whole interior. There are red, orange and black wires that come from the wiring harness. but i don't know which ones to use.: I would say you should have a wiring schematic to guide you. You could try searching on line for some free information or buy a shop manual published by Chevrolet. You could try one of the Haynes manuals, but sometimes they are not as complete as the shop manuals. You could also go to a local dealer and speak with someone in the Parts Dept. or speak with a mechanic. If you want to try it yourself, I would have someone hold the key in start position, and measure the voltage on those three wires on the wiring harness. Only one should have voltage when the key is in the start position. This wire has to go to the solenoid. That's the next thing to determine, which one. One is probably a ground and one goes to the coil in the solenoid. With an ohm meter, measure the resistance on these two wires. The one with the most resistance is probably the ground, and the other one is probably the coil. If you connect this wire to the wire we mentioned earlier, you will probably be OK. After this point, I don't think you could hurt anything. If you try it and it won't work, switch wires. Good luck.
