Q: hello,i have lots of 8 gauge wire resting at my closet. And i'm very interested on doing the big 3 upgrade to my 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt. May i see any improvement with 8 gauge wire?...i know that at least 4 gauge is recommended...but i dont want to spend money.: You probably won't see/hear a difference even if you use 1/0 wire, but there will be one. 8 awg big three will probably at least double the current carrying capacity of your stock wiring. To say it would be a waste of time would be ignorant IMO. It certainly won't hurt anything and will make a significant reduction in resistance compared to what's already there. I did my big 3 with 8 awg. I'm running 1500w rms with a stock 130A alternator.

Q: Theirs a green ground wire, a white neutral wire and for some reason 3 black wires.: If the ceiling fan has three speeds, those would be wired to a 3 position switch as low, medium and high. Normally the wires would be labeled if they use the same color. If they aren't tagged, and you want to put in a speed control switch, you'll need to experiment; either at the fixture, or just wire them down to the wall switch and make your temporary connections there to see which wires go with which speeds (then TAG them!).

Q: i think i messed up the wiring to my headunit. its not the wiring going into the headunit, there is no power from the wires. how much should it cost to get the wires checked out and fixed somewhere?: If your talking about the power wire the feeds the radio on the eclipse then you need to check both fuses. On the eclipse they put an in line fuse before the fuse box and one at the fuse box and either one could be blown. If neither one is blown then you do have a break in the wire. does not half to be cut but it can be an internal break. If i was you and the fuses are not blown i would run your own wire from the battery with an in line fuse to your radio. This happened to me so that's how i know about the two fuses. hope this helps.

Q: where does the thin blue wire from the amp go, i know it goes to the stereo but i dont know to what wire: hook it up to ur little blue wire that says power antenna if not on there find somewhere on ur fuse panel that turns off and on when u turn on the key or wire it to toggle switch and then to the hot wire on the amp and u can turn the amp on and off anytime u like

Q: If I have wired my 20 amp kitchen receptacles with 12/2 wire which only has a red, black, and ground wire, do I use the red wire for a neutral and the black as a hot?: You deffinatly need to put white tape on that red wire and to make it known as being a neutral.... The black wire is always going to be a hot in receptacle circuits...

Q: I need to rewire my boats trolling motor wiring.. I have a 55# thrust trolling motor witch draws about 45-50 amps under a full load. I have 8 GA on hand I could use.. but would I get full power out of my motor? Does 8 gauge wire support 50 amps? It is stereo wire.. Braided copper wiring.: usually up to 60amps 8 gauge will be sufficient

Q: I have a audiofonics adf-240 and I want to wire it to 1 ohm: you do no longer cord the amp you cord the subs. seem up the wiring optons on your subs and notice the thank you to drop the ohms. remember you will make greater potential yet your amp will run warmer and wont final as long except carried out properly.

Q: Has anyone ever used welding wire in their car audio setup?Is it more flexible or less than other car power wire? Is this a big problem?Is it a good or bad jacket?Would you use it again?I am looking at buying some welding wire from weldingsupply because it is .81 per foot. I would love to know if anyone has done this before and what they thought. The wire i am looking at is 4 gague.: Most (smart) SPL competitors use welding wire. Because of one thing, it's cheaper. Go for it. You'll save much money. It's not as fine as audio wire, but you can make up for that by buying larger wire, still cheaper. I use welding wire in my audio system.
