Q: is there a place where they lift your car and can work on your on car?
Its on the tire. If the owners manual reads differenly go with the tire.
Q: Where do you place them? I know where the jack up points are on the sides (I work mainly on Hondas and there are 2 jack points on each side, points about a foot from the wheels).Well, if you want to jack the front driver side wheel off the ground, you use the floor jack to lift at the nearest point, but then where do you put the jack stand? Don‘t you want to have the car on the jack stand and not supported by a rolling floor jack?Is it safe to jack up anywhere along the frame?Where do you jack up the rear? The tow hook?Where do you jack up the front? The frame middle below the radiator? Oil pan to lift engine (after removing some mounts)?
All i know is use the jackpoints on the car. if u want to use the differental to lift the back. no harm done
Q: where excalty do you posiotion a jack to lift a car up?some visuals will help
On one of the axels or the differential. Just make sure it's not on any of the suspension parts. The owners manual should have everything you need to know.
Q: Ok I got a 1995 mercury cougar and I wanted to put a lift kit on it but I cant find one nor do kno were I could get one any help?
i dont think you can on that old of a car
Q: i have a 1998 mustang and i was planning on putting new wheels on it, but the wheels come to close to the wheel well. so i want to lift the car up to make it sit higher. so which would make it higher? new struts? or new coil springs? i can only afford 4 of 1 of them
neither will raise the height enough, cause as the car hits a bump the suspension will still drop and hit the rim try to get rims that have the offset to where more of the width of the rim is deeper in the wheel well and not sticking out as much
Q: I got estimates for fabricated lifts from a local shop for about $1000-$1500. I dont want to pay that kind of money just to lift my car 4, seems high. What are my options?
You don't want to spend that kind of money to lift your car 4. I don't think the price is high, I think you are for even bringing it up. If you want to lift something make it a 4 wheel drive truck not your grandfathers hand me down car.
Q: my mom called she lives about 30 minutes away. and she told me our german shepherd will walk a few steps then fall over. i dont have a car, my brothers away to college so my mom cannot take her to the vet tonight because she cant lift her into the car. about 2 years ago my dog wouldnt get up at all so we took her to the vet and she had a UTI. she was treated. she also has incontinence but from what my mom is telling me the dog will try to walk then fall. she is about 7 years old, pls does anyone know what this sounds like, or anything my mom can do overnight to help her.
I would have a vet ruleout Lyme disease. Within a few weeks my dog started having noticeable symptoms of lameness in her hind legs and not being able to go up and down steps without assistance. She was never in any pain. I took her to the vet, and he did some tests and found she was positive for Lyme. He put her on some antibiotics and maybe something else (it was a few years back). That stopped the progression but she is still left with a deficit of lameness in her hind legs. When she runs, it turns into a bunny hop.
Q: I've seen the lifts that you drive up on and they have a motor to lift the car, but they are expensive, I'm looking for something that I can drive up on with all four wheels to a fixed height, kind of like driving your car up on 4 rhino ramps (which is VERY difficult on my driveway).I thought of nailing together some 6x6's and then building som kind of ramp to get the car up on them, but if I'm going to spend time under a car I'd rather use something not built from wood.
Why do you need the whole car off the ground? just jack it up with a floor jack, and support it with jack stands. One side at a time.
Q: Using a rearwheel drive car. How do I keep the brakes locked up while shifting at the same time? I‘m trying to learn how shift from first to second third forth fifth gear just sitting there and burning up the rubber.
These people are idiots. You can't do a brake stand in a stick shift. ARE YOU FU*King serious? Come see me in my 88 mustang 5.0 5 SPEED STICK SHIFT do a brake stand FOR DAYS. HERE IS HOW you have the car sitting still ONE OF TWO WAYS to do this either just let out the clutch VERY SLOWLY and then touch the brake and press the gas pedel all the way down and then hit the brakes hard to stop the car but the gass will keep it goin then loft the gas and play with it to not over rev the motor but keep the tires spinning and wala a brake stand OR you put you're right foot if you're a experienced driver on the brake and kick you're foot side ways and use you're hill to hit the gas and you're toes to hold the brake and let the clutch out slowly and give it gas as you let the clutch out to get tires spinning then when the tires start to spin you use you're left foot on the brake and right foot on the gas switching you're left foot on the brake and then slide you're right foot to the gas it is very easy to do if you have the power to turn both wheels. and that is the one of two ways to do a brake stand in a 5 speed car. Since some one said it can't be done LOL HAHAHAHA but any ways just don't lose control and smack a pole go to a open space no cars no poles nothing around so you can learn AND NEVER EVER EVER use the E brake in a brake stand one it will ruin you're back brakes from heating them up and second it makes it hard to spin the back tires with the e brake on because you're now applying alot more brake to the rear of the car. Hope this helps have fun and don't crash losing control it takes two feet to use three peddle sit with car off and get a feel of doing it first then let clutch out slowly from a stop and hit brake and step on gas is easier at first tell you get it then you can learn the side ways foot on brake and gas after you mastered it then the side ways foot is way easier.
