The canister vent shut valve is located in the evap canister. Rarely do we have issues with these. Usually we have issues with the 2 way valve or the bypass valve. Based on the age of the vehicle, the dealer would recommend replacement of these 2 valves as well as the canister. The reason for this is over time, when you fill the vehicle with gas, you try to top off the tank. The fuel winds up being pushed into the evap valves and the canister. This liquid gas causes the sensor to read wrong which results in this code.

Q: school starts tomorrow that means having band and i havent played it in 2 months (summer vacation) and i oiled the valves and the 1 and 2 valves are stuck the 1st valve comes up slowly when i push it down but on the 2nd valve it stays down how do i undo this???? thank you
Unscrew your valve, remove the bottom valve cap, and carefully push out the valve with a drumstick or something. Clean the valve off with a cotton swab and some vinegar, rinse it off gently with lukewarm water, oil 'er up, and put her back in. If you've messed your instrument up to the point where your valve caps are all stuck from lack of cleaning, you're going to have to take it to a professional. Don't force them with a tool or anything or you'll strip them. Haha, good luck. Matt

In some homes where the sink is mounted to the wall, as in your case, there may be shut off valves in the basement directly under the bathroom. If there are none there then you will most likely need to shut off the main water the open the bath room sink faucets to drain off excess water. Good luck.
Q: i have been having these chest pains and i went to the doc. they did an ekg, blood test for enzymes and a echo. Well today i went back for the results of the echo and was told that i had a leaky valve but it was nothing to worry about and that there are just trace amounts of valve regurgitation. Im only 19 and i have no other history of heart problems or diseases should i be worried...they said i didn't need any anti biotics or anything and that it wouldn't kill me just to watch for it as i age into my latter years of life 50-70, but im still kinda worried..anyone else have this? im also pregnant and im concerned as to how this will affect my pregnancy, labor and delivery????

Q: My third valve is always sticking, despite the fact that I oil them thoroughly every other day. It scrapes the sides of the case when I take it out/put it in, it's almost as if the valve is too big for it. Often times it will stick and I'll have to unscrew it and physically pull it out for it to be functional again.I've inspected it, and the inside looks just like the others which are fine. I've tried washing it, oiling it, and putting a trace amount of vaseline on it. What is the problem?
Have you tried cleaning the valve casing (what the valve moves in)? If not, you can use a clean cloth that won't leave fibers in there, or a valve casing brush (couple dollars at the music store) to clean the inside. Many times dirt builds up at the bottom of the valve casing where it's supposed to and the valve eventually gets stuck in it. Also, like the poster above said, the plastic/metal guide could be getting caught. You can use slide grease to lubricate the slot in the top part of the valve (not the casing) where the guide moves. Just don't get any on the piston part of the valve. If all else fails, it is possible that the valve was not honed correctly at the factory and a professional will need to fix it.
Q: and that i need a valve job. what is a valve job, and is it expensive? i have a stock 1.6 SI motor in it, but i want to make my car better and faster, would it be cheaper to buy a new engine? some of the people who want to buy my car say that they would put a B16 vtec in it. what is that, and how much better is it than my engine?
A valve job involves removing the head from the engine, disassembling the head regrinding the valves seats and installing new valve seals guides. new engine vs. valve job? Depends on how many miles are on the original engine. It's seldom a good idea to do only a valve job on a hi mileage engine. Valve job would be cheaper at first, unless you plan on keeping the car for a long time, then a new engine would be a good choice. Maybe the guy was just setting you up to ask for a lower price?
Q: I pulled the vaccuum line off the valve and nothing happened. I revved the engine and held it a higher rpm and still nothing happened(no vaccuum). Does this mean that the egr valve is bad. I have been having a problem with rough idle, and keeping the car running at a stop sign. I have already changed the pcv valve and that seemed to help a little. Thanks
You have likely got a bit of carbon in the EGR that you can clean after you remove it, I usually spray some penetrating oil into the valve hold my finger over the hole that I sprayed into and turn the valve over, if it leaks the seat is dirty and cleaning the carbon out may help. also push up on the plunger several times to be sure that it doesn't stick alternate carb cleaner with penetrating oil until the valve is free and no longer leaks when inverted. As far as your question the test you described doesn't test the EGR or the EGR solenoid correctly at all. On some the car needs to be in gear to actuate the EGR, all you need to do is check that there is vacuum to the solenoid and that the EGR valve works freely. If the EGR fails to work the check engine light should be on and you can check the code to get a clue as to why.
Q: here's some additional info asking of my question...I plan on buy a BLOWOFF VALVE and woundering where does the BLOWOFF VALVE goes in my car or do i have to replace with stock EGR VALVE using same hoses or help me please don't wanna screw this one up
Only TURBO engines have blow off valves. It protects the engine from over charging from high turbo charged ar pressure. If your is bad, it means that the diaphragm inside has ruptures. Many times there are repair kits with NEW diaphragm parts. LEARN form this. Only SYNTHETIC OILS that canhandle high temperatures can be used in your car. VALVOLINE will destroy your turbo bearings and blow youblowoff valve. Use Mobil One, Pentosin, or AMSOIL in there. THese oils can handlee the heat with NO breakdown, NO coke build=up, and NO oil feed or return line failure. STAy AWAY from wax based conventional engine oils. They are NO GOOD for your application if you haVE A blow off VALVE!!!!
Q: Hey, ive got a scooby and have a baileys dump valve that is a loud deep wooooosh sorta sound. What dump valve does the more high pitch sound? also they dump valve with the higher pitch seems to need less presure ta dump, mine needs alot of pressure before it will dump loud?
if i remember rite you can adjust the control settings for your dump valve so that it will dump at a lower pressure and a lower pressure dump should also give you the sound that you are looking for.
