- Q: I live in San Jose CA. I would pick the cheapest carpet and pading.
- Carpets can range from 1 to 15 dollars per square foot depending on how luxurious they are. A middle ranged carpet would be for around 5 bucks a square foot.
- Q: 4 years ago I shortly dated someone in the military who purchased a persian rug for me in afghanistan. I felt guilty keeping it, but he insisted I kept it anyways, and am now wanting to sell it, however I know nothing about it. Are there any websites that can teach me anything about the rug, like to verify it really is a persian rug or values?
- You can read full story at WikiPedia about Persian rugs and its type.
- Q: i am doing an equine course and one of the papers is on stabling and the question is asking to quot;explain two reasons why a horse would be rugged if it was spending the night in a stablequot; in the course book it dose not have anything on this and all the books i have read don't explain it ether. lots of help appreciated
- The primary reason for putting a rug on a horse is to keep them warm over night. If it is winter, a rug is definitely recommended when stalling over night, as movement is restricted and therefor so is the heat being produced. A lot of people will rug a horse over night if they are bathing for a show. A lot of people don't want to bath the day of the show, and so they bath the night before and rug to keep the horse clean if they choose to lay down. Rugs are also used if a horse had a hard workout in the evening, again to keep them warm over night. Once the sweat cools and dries, the horse may get a chill without a rug, although it's not a huge concern unless the horse had a really hard workout and sweat really hard. I tend to use a rug at night if there are a lot of flies in the barn. It keeps them off without having to use gallon after gallon of fly spray. I also use a rug as just an extra layer of padding, so to speak. I give the stall a look over of course and remove sharp or pointy objects, however if a potentially dangerous object has been missed, the rug will provide a little added protection, and it will rip before your horse's skin. Hope this helps a little!
- Q: without using a carpet cleaner
- Here is a site that I would highly recommend. They have very high quality stain removal techniques. I would suggest repeating the process after the first application, and rinsing the rug out with cool water in between applications. Best of luck!
- Q: Hi,I am a tenant and had a leakage from a dishwasher. now carpet is wet and smelly.around 1 square meter is the carpet area affected. I told the landlord about it. My question is should I remove the carpet myself in the meantime just to prevent mould from building up?As long as I took pictures I am safe doing it if landlord does not send someone to fix within say 48 hours?Regardless, is it not the best thing to do anyway - remove the wet section and put in garbage until they come to install new carpet? is trying to dry and clean it instead an option?THANKS
- No, don't go tearing out carpet. What I would do is use a wet/dry vac or carpet shampooer and suck up all the moisture first, then go back over it with a hot, soapy, solution with just a small amount of bleach. The bleach shouldn't hurt the color of the carpet if you use trace amounts, but it will kill any mold or fungus that might start forming. The carpet shouldn't have to be torn up, if properly cleaned like the above poster stated.
- Q: What kind of area rugs are best to buy?
- There are diferent styles, shapes and materials of area rugs which we can buy in market. According to your need and situation, you have to select your kind of area rug. You can decorate with area rugs. Area rugs are made differently. Some are hand knotted, some are flat woven, hooked and some are machine made. So there are as many kinds of area rugs to buy. - Q: i have about 12 rugs for my horse weatherbeeta turnout 600 denier saxon turnout 1200 denier, zilco canvus, two summer rugs and a polar fleece rug he is a thoroughbred and seems to need to be warm. im wondeing how many i have to put on him? and what are the best brands of horse rugs in australia victoria i hope i can get some good answers thanks! =]
- No offense but horses dont even need rugs.. I would say weatherbeeta is the best rug you can get. I dont know all my rugs are weatherbeeta.. Well beens hes a TB I would say put a light weight on him. I know TBs tend to be more suceptiable to cold. This is really your choice and if you think he looks cold bring him in and put him in a stall.. (if their is a stall avaible to him)
- Q: how do remove pizza stains from the carpet
- Blot the excess. This is the overarching rule of carpet-stain cleaning. Don't soak or wipe it, otherwise you're stuck with the stain for life... Know your stain. Figure out what kind of stain you have on your hands. Unlike clothing, carpet stains can often be difficult to discern after a few moments... Brush clean and vacuum once the stain is dry. The flat brush should pick up and dried particles that are lingering, and the vacuum will do the rest.
- Q: I have not always found snug bugs in my rugs......so I am taking a poll here today to see if this saying could have some real validity to it. Do YOUR rugs have snug bugs? If so, how many snug bugs can you count in your rugs? And lastly, why on earth do we tolerate snug bugs in our rugs? What think you?
- SNUG AS A BUG IN A RUG - Safe; comfortable.'The Stratford Jubilee,' a play of 1769, carries this line: 'If she (a rich widow) has the mopus's, I'll have her as snug as a bug in a rug.' Mopus is a lost word meaning money. From The Dictionary of Cliches by James Rogers (Ballantine Books, New York, 1985).
- Q: Well we kind of had a little mis hap and we accidently got a burning piece of paper on the ground. The paper was burning and went onto the carpet and we cleaned all the ash up and now there is a dirty ashy looking stain on the carpet. How do you get rid of it? I don't mean by buying another carpet, is there anything that could get it out of the carpet? Thank you.
- It sounds like the carpet fibers have been burned. If so, you can't repair those fibers, but you can fix the problem with a Carpet Transplant: 1. Cut the marked area out using a razor knife or a single-edged razor blade. Be careful to cut only the carpet, not the padding under it. You can buy either of these products at most hardware stores. 2. Cut a piece of replacement carpet from a place no one will ever notice, like from inside a closet. 3. Put the RUINED piece on a piece of paper and trace around it. This will be your template for the new piece. Cut this out and use it as a pattern. You want an exact match in shape. 4. Glue the replacement piece of carpet in place using waterproof glue. Attach it to the padding underneath. Or you can sew it into place by sewing it to the existing carpet. (You will need a curved needle if you sew it in place.) The repair should be invisible when you're done. -
