- Q: We have a large carpet that we want to cut and lay over our cream one (to save it as we have a two year old) The carpet WILL fray and become untidy and we have heard that it will cost 80p per 12 inches to get it 'overlocked' or is it called 'binding' (the edges sewn up so it doesnt fray) and we just cant afford it as the measurements are 16 feet x 9 feet = ?40 (odd)... Ive done a little research and have come across 'double sided carpet tape' (?) also I see something else 'GLUE'.. that can be used. Does anyone out there know how we would do it... the tape AND glue (?) Can someone give me step by step instructions or directions on how to stop this carpet from coming undone and fraying. - Try not to lay carpet in the room with floor heating, or it will affect the heat transfer. If it is just a small part, then the impact is not obvious. In addition, it would be better for heat transfer to buy furniture with legs for the room installed with floor heating.

- Well I live in Australia [ yeah dont ask why I am on the uk ireland one - thought I signed up to the other one LOL ] In winter it will be around the mid teens [ degrees celcious ] and usally windy and cold, my horse will have his winter rug on - 600d medium weight. and that is it. As soon as it is middle of spring comnig into summer I strip him and leave him unrugged. in saying this he is a hardy horse and he was unrugged for years before I owned him so he doesnt really need to be rugged, I just feel bad in the middle of winter having him rugless.

- Take an old dish rag or t shirt that you don't want to use again with an Iron and lay the rag on top of wax and start with low heat on iron run it across till you see the wax go unto the rag......keep doing this until you get all the wax unto the rag...sometimes it might take more than one rag. WORKS EVERYTIME:-) I have a 5year old...i understand!! LOL

- never mix ammonia with any thing else.
- Q: How can I remove wax from may carpet?
- Use boiling water to the melt the wax , it'll float over the water and you can suck it it up with a wet dry vaclum cleaner. you must do qiuck before it get in to the carpet again with the water. Off course, you have to remove the large portion of it by breaking it with your hand or a scraper. Be carefull not to caut the carpet. Good Luck!
